Ryan and I are sociable, creative, child-free, professionals who love to spend time outdoors, take on creative projects, and travel. Ryan and Kimberly were the quintessential hosts. Polite, warm and open with there time and home. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this listing to anyone looking for a room in the LA area.
It is easy to see why this space is listed as "super".
We got in and pretty much hit the ground running and these hosts gave us so much space and good energy that when we came back it almost felt like home.
The room looks better than the picture, their pup is so sweet, and their hospitality is so genuine. They really make it a space that you feel welcome in.
My family is based in Los Angeles and I do intend to contact Kimberly when I come back.
Kim and Ryan were great hosts. Very helpful about getting around the neighborhood, where to go, what to eat. Their welcome pack was several pages long featuring attractions both near by and far away. The house was tidy and well organized. Flat screen tv in my bedroom with access to Apple tv and wifi. Bed was clean and comfortable and had clean towels for both the shower and the beach. Kim and Ryan have a spare bike to lend and made sure the tires were all topped up and ready to roll. Can't forget the four legged host April-Mae. Very sweet dog, doesn't shed and rarely makes a noise. I brought treats and we were best friends for the week. Would definitely recommend for both the accommodations and the hosts.
Great experience! Don't let the "backhouse" trick you. It was a nice and spacious room. Kimberly was an amazing host. She not only did her best to make our stay comfortable and convenient, but also gave us great trip advice. Highly recommend!
The room was nice, with a very comfortable bed, and I enjoyed being able to use the kitchen. It is conveniently located and I was able to walk to many places, and easily drive to the beach and the mountains for a hike. The hosts were away most of the time, so I had less interaction than normal, but they still have me a great deal of information about things to do in the area!
Excellent experience! The room is very large, well-decorated and has all the comforts of a home and a hotel (included bathrobes and slippers are a nice touch!). Very central location -- I was sightseeing, so it was perfect for heading to the beach, up to UCLA or to downtown LA. Kimberly and her boyfriend are exceedingly positive and energetic, full of advice and answers to any questions. In all, I had a wonderful time staying here.
It was very pleasant experience to stay at Kimberly and Ryan's place. They knew everything in detail such as restaurants, bars, and transportation. I recoomend staying at their place. The room was very spacious and bed was comfy. Plus, restroom was right next to our room which was great. Kimberly is such a nice host that she will accomodate any of your needs. Thank you so much!

About the Host, Kimberly
I grew up in New York, but have lived in LA for over 12 years. I recycle. I repurpose. I carry a spoon in my purse. I love biking, beach volleyball, tennis, & backpacking. Snow sports and traveling pull at my heartstrings as well. I have spent time in Asia, Central & South America, & Europe and I love being inspired by other peoples' adventures. Having led volunteer work trips to Honduras, Bolivia, and India, I also love hearing how people give their time to causes they feel passionate about.
I live with my fantastic partner-in-crime, Ryan, and our clever pooch April Mae. Ryan & I are warm and social, but we know how to give people personal space. I have a keen eye for attention to detail so when you come to our home there will be snacks when you arrive and many conveniences during your stay. You'll have cozy robes, slippers, a 24hr coffee/tea station, a detailed map of conveniences in the neighborhood, and informative packets of places to eat & drink and enjoy the site all around the city.
We dig exploring new cities by bicycle since going at a slower pace allows one to discover hidden gems off the beaten path. That's why we provide two bikes for guests to use free of charge - we want you to have the opportunity to explore LA on 2 wheels!
Whether I'm coming to you, or you're coming to me, I look forward to meeting you and sharing space for a brief period!
