Where you’ll be

Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia

Kuala Terla is a small, serene and non-commercialised tea/farmer's village in the highlands.

In the morning, you will be able to hear roosters crowing, school bell ringing, villagers chatting and kids running around or riding their bicycles.

Most villagers are very friendly, however, not many of them can converse in English. If you speak / chat with them, they will try their best to communicate with you.

Food is always available in the village. Not a problem for guests who like to opt for Halal & vegetarian options as well. Most restaurants are family-operated, it's a fun and unique to experience eating like a local at somebody's home - for example, try Poh Wan's Home Dining Experience.

Another family restaurant is run inside a temple. Pretty unique and they have nice food. Try it.

At night, for those who drink, can always walk to a local bar Del Luna set in a traditional kampung house for a glass of drink. It is just a few houses away.

Cameron's most authentic Malay cuisines is also situated in this village. You wouldn't want to miss out Chef Zalee's awesome cooking talent! (I am drooling while writing this!)

On Wednesday, you would be able to find the best Peanut & Corn Pancake (Apam Balek) at the local night market here.
