I arrived in the late afternoon; John was very gracious, and the room was very spacious, as advertised. I'm glad I made the choice that I did. The location makes public transportation a breeze! Thanks John.
The basement room is good for sleeping - very spacious with a massage chair! The fire was also nice to have as an option.
John was a great host, and the room was spacious and cozy.
We had a nice stay at John's house in the basement room. We were really looking to beat the summer heat and this room was perfect. John is super gracious and kind, a great host!
If you are looking to stay a little further out from the SE Portland action, this is your place. We would have liked to be a little closer, but definitely made it work with a short walk to the bus stop on division or Powell. If you have or are renting a car/bike, then you're good to go!
Had a great 2 week stay at John's. The room is spacious, quiet & cool during the summer. For me, having a good desk and chair was important and so it was nice having a high quality desk & chair to work at. John and I had some fun conversations during our stay as well and I enjoyed having him as a host.
John was a great host who was very helpful while we were finding a place to live in Portland. His house is quiet and lovely and felt very at home with comfortable beds and full use of his kitchen. The house is near public transportation and in a quiet neighborhood. Overall a very nice experience.
i had to stay longer than i thought, and john was nice enough to give me the spacious retreat room. what a great space. it's well worth the price. Lots of room, quiet, and really friendly people. I look forward to coming back.
