Are you visiting our islands and want to experience the peace and beauty of living in Hawaii first hand? Do you need a safe, friendly, clean, upscale place to stay?
Our beautiful home is in excellent location and close to everything: Walk to Diamond Head monument & Kapiolani Community College farmer's market, the beach, Waikiki or quaint Kaimuki town. We are one of Honolulu's few walkable neighborhoods; near Kahala Mall, movies, Whole Foods, delicious local restaurants, several yoga studios.
Our home was completely renovated using natural woods & materials. It is professionally cleaned regularly. The main living area & your bedroom & bathroom are downstairs, our quarters are upstairs. No tv in your bedroom. Comfortable, QUEEN size bed, pure cotton linens. Share kitchen w/ Natalie & Carl.
Come and go as you please. Internet & washer/dryer included, street parking. Near bus lines. Check out "(website hidden)" for simple & specific transportation information. No smoking inside.
You will love this space!
I am willing to provide airport pick-up & drop off for $40 each way.
A taxi costs $45 & the bus takes about one hour.
Natalie and Carl's place was amazing. Although it was a late reservation, Natalie made sure that I would have a roof over my head. Their place is located in a nice quiet neighborhood that is close enough to most attractions near Waikiki. In fact it is walking distance to the Diamond Head trail. The room was very well furnished, clean and comfortable and the same can be said for the rest of their house. The couple made available guide books, beach towels, snorkel gear and various other beach accessories. I really have no complaints but pure praise for this experience.
We had a wonderful time at Natalie and Carl's place. The home is so beautiful and close to the beach. Natalie showed us some great public but quiet beaches as well.
Natalie and Carl are wonderful hosts. The home is beautiful. The location is great. We can’t forget that their dog, Mele, made our stay all the more enjoyable.
We arrived late at night and Carl was up waiting for us with Mele. We were given a tour of the home with basic information about the kitchen, fans, locks, windows, etc. that would make our stay comfortable. When we got into the room, we were pleasantly surprised with the small library of travel books and texts related to Hawaii. We made use of some of these books during our trip, so they were great to have at hand.
Natalie prepared coffee in the mornings, and we really enjoyed our conversations with her. She provided us tips relevant to our interests. This was a big help when quickly forming plans on the fly both in Honolulu (great restaurants) and throughout the rest of Oahu (great beaches, favorite hiking spots, amazing views). I believe it’s great to have people who can answer questions about the place you’re visiting. Natalie and Carl were friendly and knowledgeable, so they were able to give us great information throughout our trip.
I would absolutely recommend Natalie and Carl to visitors. You can’t go wrong.
After we made our reservation, I emailed the hosts for directions and got a prompt reply back. The directions I received were clear and easy to follow. A few days before we arrived, I received a call from Carl who would have to go into work when we were to arrive. He told us where to get the key to let ourselves in. Natalie happened to be home when we got to their home which was about a 25 minute drive from the airport and not too far from the freeway. We settled into the room on the main floor of their home with an adjoining bathroom that was spacious and recently remodelled. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. While the home is close to the end of Waikiki beach, a car is pretty much necessary , but there is street parking that is always available. The neighborhood is a nice neighborhood and very quiet and clean.
The home is a half hour walk to the Diamond Head hike. The hike itself takes about half an hour to get to the top if you are relatively fit. There is the farmer's market on Saturday mornings that was really great to go to. It only takes 5-10 minutes to walk to.
We had access to their remodelled kitchen and a refrigerator shelf set aside for us. The washer and dryer was also available for us which we used a few times.
Natalie and Carl are great hosts and their dog Meli is very friendly. We had great conversations with Natalie. All three of them make you feel very welcome very quickly. We would definitely stay with them again when we return on our next trip and recommend this home very highly to others and our friends.
We just spent 5 great nights with at the Pitre's house. Very nice bedroom and a full bath too. Natalie and Carl were great hosts. Located right next to Kapiolani Community College. Close to the beach, Diamond Head, and shopping. When we have another opportunity to visit Honolulu we plan to stay at the Natalie and Carl Pitre's home again.
The home and location were as advertised. Carl and Natalie were gracious hosts. The dog was well behaved. Everything met our needs for our three week stay. Thank you.
Really enjoyed my stay in Natalie and Carl's beautiful home! Great location away from the bustle of Waikiki, yet very close. I'd return in a heartbeat!
Very nice room in a beautiful house. Nathalie and Carl provided lots of information and help for the planning of our Hawaii vacation. The dog (sorry we forgot the name :o) was fun to play with. All in all, we spent two wonderful days at this place!
This was our first experience staying in a room in someone's house. As such, we felt somewhat awkward. Other than that, the house was beautiful, especially decorated for Christmas. Very clean. Hosts were cordial and provided answers to any questions. They made fresh coffee every morning and even gave us fresh fruit one morning. They cleaned out part of a shelf in the refrigerator for storage of a small amount of food, even let us use their washer and dryer before we left. There is a wonderful little shop, Aloha Crepes, where we got delicious breakfast crepes and where they have lots of other interesting combinations of crepe ingredients for other meals. There is also a bistro you can walk to with authentic french pastries and a specialty chocolate pastry modeled after the Louve sculpture. Near the community college where there is a farmer's market on Saturday. You can catch a bus into Waikiki or directly to Pearl Harbor. There is also a wonderful small theatre, Diamond head Theatre, where we saw Elf. The local orchestra was as entertaining as the play.
we spent 3 nights at Natalie's and Carls's place and everything was great. The room and the private bathroom are very clean, the bed is comfortable and the breakfast is yummy (organic products). I definitely recommend this place.
Thanks Natalie and Carl, you gave us very good first impression of Hawaii.
