Meet and Greet
It has been a treat watching Uptown blossom into a beautiful area of Chicago. It seems like everyday there are new shops and apartments popping up, and the public train is in the process of being redone as well! The condo is in walking distance of the lakefront, parks, and many unique restaurants.
Public Train (The L) only a block away (close enough to easily to, but far enough to not hear at night)

Stephanie’s condo was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our needs. We were attending the Northwestern graduation but also wanting to visit the sites in the center of Chicago. The location was ideal. There was parking for two vehicles, which we needed to accommodate our family. The condo is quite close to the “L” and a block away from a main street, but is very quiet. The neighborhood is very ethnically diverse with lots of interesting eating possibilities. The entire condo is beautiful and comfortable. This was perfect for our family reunion/graduation celebration. Stephanie and her son Ian were very responsive to any questions that we had.
The condo is very nice and very spacious and clean. Off street garage parking was a very nice thing to have. With an option to get tags for on street parking as well. We were able to get in just a little early of check in and had no problems. Close to a red-line but we never heard any noise. A little noise from trash trucks in the morning but it's Chicago...what ya gonna do? It was unfortunate that the living area, which is downstairs from the kitchen, got flooded due to heavy rainfall. So it was unusable. It was in the process of being remediated while we were there. But that was out of everyone's control and I was given a 50% refund on my stay. Seemed fair to me.
I'd say the only downside, is that there isn't a lot of bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. At least none that I was interested in going to. I mean Sonic and McDonalds in down the street, but I could get that anywhere. A short cab ride or train to most of the city.
Overall, a very nice place with lots of room. Well worth the value, especially if you have more than a couple people. I think the area is a little to be desired, but for us it worked fine.
We had a great time at Stephanie's condo. She and her son, who manages the property, were accessible and friendly, and we got in with no problems. The condo is roomy, clean, beautifully furnished and well appointed, and was perfect for our family of four. It's about a block from an El station, which made getting around super easy as we explored Chicago, saw the Cubs, and visited family in the northern suburbs. The street is clean and quiet, and though the neighborhood may not be for everyone -- it's definitely a little gritty -- we felt safe and comfortable, no different from any other big urban area. Thanks for a fantastic stay.
We had a wonderful time staying here, in Uptown Chicago. FYI, the neighborhood is transitionIng but we felt safe. Incredibly close to the Green Mill, and the red line stop is very convenient as well. My thinking is that there is some good ethnic food in the neighborhood, but we ran out of time to sample. The condo (two levels-nice for privacy between couples or families) itself is really lovely, and has an epic grand piano in the living room (in tune for us with great action). Ian, our host, was very warm and responsive. Would definitely come back.
The condo is in a transitioning neighborhood. I wouldn't walk around at night by myself, but it seemed very safe during the day. It is a great value for a family or three people who all need their own room. Thanks for a lovely weekend.
