Wonderful Villa in a 24/7 secure neighborhood. Huge resort style pool & Beautiful Grounds. 10-15 min walk to gorgeous, Playa Penca beach and short drives to many other beautiful beaches. The space
Gringo Paradise is a cozy Villa in a relaxing Italian Resort with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Two crisp, cold, Air conditioning units that are operated with remote control await you. Well equipped kitchen with lots of cooking/baking pans, utensils, spices and things you are welcome to use.
The bedroom has a nice queen size mattress with topper, new pillows, and nice linens and bedding. An upstairs loft above the kitchen is a perfect spot for one or two people to sleep and also has a nice full size pillowtop mattress and nice linens. The Villa has a totally renovated kitchen with Granite counters, handmade native hardwood cabinets, a stove/oven and full size refrigerator.. There are two full baths with walk in shower. The master bath has a spa type rain shower with unlimited hot water and a dual sink vanity hand crafted from Costa Rican Guanacaste wood, complete with three drawers to store your bathroom essentials. The second bath has a rain shower as well.
We have a great outdoor Porch Space with a hammock, desk space, and two ceiling fans for those perfect afternoon naps. It's also a great place for a romantic dinner with our handcrafted Table and chairs and even string mood lighting. The porch is screened in to protect you from any flying insects. The neighborhood views from the porch are beautiful with all the lush and well maintained flora & flauna. The porch includes a large bench, a dining table, the oven/stove and even a BBQ pit. The villa has a laundry room with washer & dryer & clothes line for your use on the back side of the villa. The neighborhood is full of mature tropical plants and fruit trees such as mangos, limes, starfruit, and more.
The quaint Italian Square includes a secure free parking area for you and a 24/7 ATM. Also, there is currently a Restaurant/Bar, Bakery, barber, fish market, sausage maker, and a Travel Agent on site that can arrange rentals of cars, 4 wheelers, motorcycles, bicycles and any tour you might desire such as the Arenal Volcano, white water rafting, fishing, or golf.
The resort offers a beach front park for residents and their guests on Playa Penca. This is a wonderful space that includes palapas with tables for shade, a restroom, a person selling cold or hot drinks, smoothies and snacks! It's an awesome space for our guests.
Don't miss the near by local fruit and vegetable stand where you can buy wonderful fresh pineapples, sweet watermelons, and the creamy avocados and so much more!

The guests of Villagio are welcome to use the community large resort style pool and baths and the Villagio communities offer a private beachfront park on Playa Penca (busy season only) that includes a Restroom and a person that sells cold drinks, smoothies and snacks. In the beacheside bar you will find tables with Palapa's for a shady beach picnic or party area where you can relax and listen to the soothing waves.
Other things to note
Potrero is home to a large Italian expat area of Costa Rica so there are many wonderful Italian restaurants nearby and a fabulous Gelato and coffee shop near the Potrero square on the road to Las Catalinas. Las Brisas is a wonderful ocean front Restaurant and bar that is one of the closest to the villa. A new large Supermarket just opened down the street from Gringo Paradise.
Nearby Tamarindo is a hip surf town and only a 25-30 minute drive away. This is a nice day trip and a great place to people watch. Tamarindo is a very busy little beach town that has large grocery stores like you may be used too back home and many nice beachfront dining options. Tamarindo also has many nice local stores to shop for things to take back. Wooden salad bowls from local exotic hard woods, hammocks, and local pottery are priced well and perfect things to take back. You will enjoy your time there but will be ready to get back to relaxing Potrero.
There are several beautiful golf courses in the proximity and world renowned deep sea fishing which now originates from the new Flamingo Marina and a must for our angler friends. Flamingo Beach is nearby with Margaritaville resort and second floor bar, which is a great spot to take in the breathtaking sunsets this area of Costa Rica has to offer. The Flamingo area is often called the Hollywood Hills of Costa Rica.
