Pam, I’m very sorry that the house was not up to your expectations. I try very hard to make it a great experience for all the guests. From providing all the bath products, granola bars and all the tourist brochures, I really try to think through everything people could need and want while visiting. Addressing your comments: kitchen is fully stocked with tons of cooking supplies. I’m wondering if you just didn’t find everything because there are many cabinets & drawers that can be pulled out very far. You told me the light switch wasn’t working and I offered to have an electrician come over to fix it immediately. You didn’t want this. He fixed it the day after you left.
We previously allowed people access to the garage and this created other problems.
Airbnb is a company founded by 2 guys who rented out an air mattress in their living room. It’s about staying at people’s homes, with some flaws and signs of wear and tear. It’s like visiting a friend’s house and being a local. These houses aren’t perfect. But they are comfortable. In this town, on this weekend, a hotel room rents for $300 per night. You got a beautiful 3-br house for less than one hotel room. I guess value is relative, I again apologize that it's a family home where a family used to live.
I noticed that you put took the clocks off the walls and put in kitchen cabinet. You rearranged the glasses and the patio furniture. It’s possible, that you may be more comfortable at a hotel where everything is in lines, and brand new, than at an Airbnb. This isn’t a fit for everyone. However, I thank you for your feedback and I am using it to make things even better for the next guests.
