About this listing
Located just 5 minutes' walk from the City Centre, this comfortable room has a private bathroom, kitchen and a whole floor to yourself! On direct bus routes to Dublin airport and walking distance from Trinity College, Grafton Street and City Center.
The room is spacious and quiet and you will have the whole floor to yourself with a private bathroom and a kitchenette with your own fridge, microwave oven, kettle and toaster (we provide tea, coffee and snacks). The room is also freshly painted and the bed is brand new.
The room has a TV with an Apple TV with Netflix and a stereo speaker for music if you're staying in.
Single air mattress is available too - just ask!
The basement floor is very self-contained and should have everything you need! In the room you have access to your own private bathroom and shower. You have a small kitchen with fridge and microwave. There is also a large wardrobe in the room and your own TV with Netflix.
You have a desk with outlets for your use and good WiFi. Access is through the main house but the room, bathroom and kitchen are private to you.
Interaction with Guests
We leave our guests to their own devices, as they have their own section of the house. But of course we are available in case of any questions.
The room itself it pretty much soundproof to the rest of the house so guests won't be interrupted by any comings and goings and vice-versa.
We live in historic Georgian Dublin. The house itself was built in the 1800's and still maintains many original features, with a modern twist.
The area is really charming just outside the city center. Just across the street there is a deli, Starbucks, convenience store, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs! There are also local parks and a canal with a nice walk on our street.
It's the perfect location for transport, walking or cycling. Direct bus routes to and from Airport (25 mins each way), City Center and Trinity (15 mins walking). We are walking distance from Grand Canal Dock and all major transport routes in Dublin - you can really get anywhere!
We also have a Dublin Bikes rental stop on our street - you can rent a bike and drop it off anywhere in the city. Really handy and good way to see the city.
Other Things to Note
A small and very friendly dog named Jasper lives in the house. He is quiet and behaved and will not go into your space at all.
We're easy going and guests are left to their own devices, and your space is just for you. Of course if you have any questions about the area or things to do we are more than happy to help!
This was a good place to stay: good location, comfortable, private. Host was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early.
What a great spot. So close to City Centre. Super comfy bed with plenty of room.
Ben's mother Sally greeted us, and she was lovely and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. We never met Ben at all, which we thought was a little strange since all our previous communication had been with him, but it wasn't a huge deal.
Work was being done on the bathroom when we arrived, but it didn't appear to be complete. The toilet was essentially unstuck from the floor, and we were afraid we might break it. There was a loud pump in the bathroom, which we were already aware of based on Ben's own description of the flat, but we never quite got used to the sound it made.
The location was within about 15-20 minutes walking distance of the city center. There were plenty of excellent restaurants just down the street (I recommend FARM and the Canal Bank Cafe). It can be a bit of a hike though if you're going to any of the major Dublin attractions that aren't immediately downtown. I recommend getting a LEAP card and figuring out the bus system BEFORE you arrive.
Overall, this is good location that provides value for money, but it has a few quirks.
Sally was very welcoming when we arrived late in evening Directions from airport spot on so had no difficulty finding the place The rooms were self contained and comfortable - some food provided which was great - especially the chocolates! Great location and Easy walking distance from town Would highly recommend to friends and family
A great place to stay in Dublin within easy walking distance of the city centre. A comfortable bed and a well-provided kitchen. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
We loved our four-day stay! We were welcomed warmly by Sally, and any questions or concerns we had were addressed promptly and positively. The neighborhood where this house is located is just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, yet close enough for a very quick walk into it. All the amenities you need are within one or two minutes walking distance--a convenience store, pubs, restaurants, buses (both the Dublin Bus, and the AirCoach bus). We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Ben's mother welcomed us to the apartment and she was very nice and helped us get settled. The location is great, only a 15 minute walk into the main part of the city and it has a bus if you don't want to walk. There is also a direct bus to and from the airport right outside the apartment, which was very convenient for us.
The apartment was comfortable and fairly clean. The bathroom might need a bit of work as others have mentioned but it wasn't a major issue. The shower will be hard for you if you are tall but fortunately you can detach the faucet if you need to.
The WiFi was outstanding. Throughout our travels, I've found many AirBnB's, B&B's and hotels have very bad WiFi, but Ben's WiFi is excellent. This was much appreciated by heavy internet users like us. The Netflix and AppleTV provided was also a nice touch.
Overall staying here was great!
