Located just 5 minutes' walk from the City Centre, this comfortable room has a private bathroom, kitchen and a whole floor to yourself! On direct bus routes to Dublin airport and walking distance from Trinity College, Grafton Street and City Center.
The room is spacious and quiet and you will have the whole floor to yourself with a private bathroom and a kitchenette with your own fridge, microwave oven, kettle and toaster (we provide tea, coffee and snacks). The room is also freshly painted and the bed is brand new.
The room has a TV with an Apple TV with Netflix and a stereo speaker for music if you're staying in.
Single air mattress is available too - just ask!
The basement floor is very self-contained and should have everything you need! In the room you have access to your own private bathroom and shower. You have a small kitchen with fridge and microwave. There is also a large wardrobe in the room and your own TV with Netflix.
You have a desk with outlets for your use and good WiFi. Access is through the main house but the room, bathroom and kitchen are private to you.
Interaction with Guests
We leave our guests to their own devices, as they have their own section of the house. But of course we are available in case of any questions.
The room itself it pretty much soundproof to the rest of the house so guests won't be interrupted by any comings and goings and vice-versa.
We live in historic Georgian Dublin. The house itself was built in the 1800's and still maintains many original features, with a modern twist.
The area is really charming just outside the city center. Just across the street there is a deli, Starbucks, convenience store, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs! There are also local parks and a canal with a nice walk on our street.
It's the perfect location for transport, walking or cycling. Direct bus routes to and from Airport (25 mins each way), City Center and Trinity (15 mins walking). We are walking distance from Grand Canal Dock and all major transport routes in Dublin - you can really get anywhere!
We also have a Dublin Bikes rental stop on our street - you can rent a bike and drop it off anywhere in the city. Really handy and good way to see the city.
Other Things to Note
A small and very friendly dog named Jasper lives in the house. He is quiet and behaved and will not go into your space at all.
We're easy going and guests are left to their own devices, and your space is just for you. Of course if you have any questions about the area or things to do we are more than happy to help!
The rooms were just as described. Ben and his mother graciously agreed to our booking even though we would not be arriving until midnight. They had left coffee and some things to get us started in the morning (milk, cereal, biscuits, etc) which really makes life on the road so much easier.
We stayed in Bens appartment for 3 nights and everything we needed was provided. We didn't meet Ben but his mum was there to welcome us. The bathroom was a little bit filthy.
I can only endorse all that has been said about the convenient location, the food etc made available in the kitchen and the overall relaxed vibe. We did, indeed, feel like we had our own front door but, even so, the fact that Ben's mother was close at hand was a reassurance should we have needed anything.
There is also no shortage of pubs, shops and restaurants nearby.
All in all a very pleasant stay in Dublin.
In addition, wepurchased a three day Leap ticket at Dublin airport (only available at the airport) and enjoyed unlimited travel on the DART, Dublin buses, LUAS, local trains as well as inclusive bus travel to and from the airport. All for 19.5 euros while the airport transfers alone would cost 16 euro!
The room was great! Separated from the rest of the house so privacy was never an issue. We were kindly greeted upon arrival and shown through the place. Ben also provided us cereal, bread, milk, orange juice, coffee and biscuits. The bed and room was clean and cozy. The shower offered hot water, but, as the other reviewers mentioned, was a bit small (mainly in height). At 6' I had to duck, but it was not much of a concern. The toilet uses an extractor pump so as people mentioned made a bit of noise, but it was really no bother.
The location was great! We walked most of the time, but also had a bus stop just down the street. It was quite neat to walk out and down the street of homes with a Victorian feel. We had a lot of fun here and would definitely stay again. Thanks!
For future visitors in times of nice whether, the Coca-Cola bike rental option is actually pretty good and fun. You can check out a bike and ride it almost anywhere with stations all over the city. Otherwise, people touring, I would recommend the 2-Day bus tour. It takes you to all the big ticket places and you can hop on and off anytime with multiple buses coming and going all day.
Great little basement apartment. Was in a great location being an easy 20min stroll to the city centre. Everything we needed was there including fresh bead and milk for a cuppa. Would defiantly recommend this to anyone.
The second time I've stayed here, this time on my own and on business. All was great once again - very happy to stay here. Communication with Ben pre and post trip has always been excellent.
Great place! 15 minute walk to the town side of St Stephens green. Clean, comfortable; warm and cosy but not at all small or cramped. Host provided bread, jam and other essentials. Great value for money.
