The Space

Beautiful private Biltmore Forest home on several acres - five minutes to Biltmore Estate entrance and the galleries & restaurants of Biltmore Village, easy 2 miles off I-40, 15 minutes to the airport... plenty of parking.

Our property is a 1920's brick bungalow purchased by my grandparents when they were newlyweds... Located in Biltmore Forest, it's close to the famous Biltmore House (1mile in a straight line, 3 by car). Less than a mile to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 10 minutes to downtown restaurants and the River Arts District.

The house is 5-bedrooms, 2500 sq ft, privately situated on part of a 5-acre compound that's been in the family for almost 100 years... wood floors, lots of plants and BIG windows throughout... Relax on the 500 sq ft brick terrace and enjoy the season. Full kitchen with fine views to the wooded east yard. Fireplace and two comfortable dens... dining room seats 14 or more, also with plenty of windows.

Two queen bedrooms downstairs share a bright clean bathroom, and the large main downstairs rooms. Upstairs, guests are greeted by a large sitting room, two queen bedrooms, and one single. One bedroom features a connected private bathroom (sink, small tub, and toilet), and the other bedroom has a separate bathroom (shower, sink, toilet) off the sitting room.

Wireless internet is fast, so looking at maps online while planning your day will be easy. Downstairs stereo is ready for your portable music players, as is the upstairs stereo.

Price is whole house nightly. Ask about 1/2 house pricing (two-bed downstairs entire house).

  • Gorgeous house very near to Asheville with a lovely lawn, enough bedrooms for a large group, and plenty of open spaces. We came with the intent to spend lots of time exploring Asheville and hiking in the area, and ended up enjoying our time at the house just as much as any of the fun we had in the area.

  • I highly recommend staying at the "Spring Fling!" We visited in May/June and loved every bit of our stay. We were a large group (10) in town for a wedding at the Biltmore Estate. It was very conveniently located and the setting was stunning. I was amazed with how well the house accommodated so many people. The living room and dining room are large and well furnished. The kitchen seems well stocked, although we didn't cook much at all. Drew was a model host. He clearly and promptly communicated arrival and departure details with us. He also seems to be a very fun and interesting guy and The Spring Fling benefits from his personal mark. We felt like we were staying in a loved genuine space. That said, don't expect sterile polished 'hotel-like' accommodations. This is an old charming house and there are some signs of wear and age - but totally within acceptable limits. We are all grateful to Drew for sharing his home with us! ...Oh, did I mention? The view of the property from the living room is stunning!

  • Drew was extremely easy to work with and his house was SO cozy. The location cannot be beat -- 10 minute drive from the Biltmore Estate and downtown Asheville. It has the feel of being isolated and surrounded by nature, but grocery stores and quick restaurants are just around the corner.

This house can fit a large group comfortably.

  • My family of 8 chose this house for my brother's college graduation from Asheville. Very central to downtown, airport, etc. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby (and Starbucks!!) Drew was very open with communication and I talked to him a few times before we went so everything was as promised and it was easy to get the key.

It's a lovely older house and we all loved the homey feel and outside was gorgeous. There was a ton of space so we weren't in each other's faces. 5 bedrooms (which was perfect for 3 couples and 2 solo people). Unfortunately, I got there last and got stuck with the twin bed room. It was a VERY comfy mattress, but the twin bed is high off the ground (above my chest level) so the first night I barely slept because I was nervous (I roll around a lot) I slept on the couch the second night which was comfy as well.

Lots of light and space. Cable which was a plus for my Dad! Everything we needed kitchen wise and plenty of space for us at the dining room table.

The only drawback was the air condition. I know it is the mountains and I assume this is more of a winter vacation spot, but the air condition unit was only downstairs so it got pretty warm upstairs, even at night. Everyone who slept upstairs had to sleep with the very light sheets and luckily we brought some box fans (we like the noise!) so wasn't too uncomfortable. We noticed some AC units in a closet so I assume those were pulled from the windows for winter, but since it was 70-75 the weekend we were there it would have been nice to have those installed.

But overall it was VERY enjoyable and we talked about returning already (maybe in the fall!) We loved the home feel and the space. Comfy couches and enough room to spread out for a large (and prone to yelling!) family :-D!

    Thanks Drew!

  • The house fit our needs well for entertaining friends and family vacationing in the area. The good views of the yard and comfortable feel of the house made for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was equipped with the necessities for cooking and the dining area was attractive for serving different numbers of guests. With three bathrooms, there was no waiting turns, even with a crowd of 10. Parking was ample and location convenient to grocery and to the Blueridge Parkway. It was well equipped for computer, TV, and radio.

  • We didn't get to meet Drew because he was out of town during our stay. However we spoke with him by phone and texted with him during our stay. His home is beautiful and was perfect for our group of 9. We were in Asheville to run the Asheville marathon & half marathon events on the Biltmore Estate. Drew's house is close to the Biltmore Estate and is located on a lovely property with large trees, flowers, wild turkeys and red fox! We would definately stay here again!

  • We enjoyed your home, thank you for sharing it with us. Mike
In short we had a great time. The layout of his home was excellent for our group.
If there was one downside, there was no hand mixer. It was my niece’s birthday and we had to whip the frosting by hand. We made the cake before we left.
Otherwise, great house, will try to rent again in the future. I would love to be there in the spring when we could enjoy the patio.
Thank you for having such a great service.

  • What a lovely home! Thanks so much to Drew for making us welcome! We stayed 3 nights with a group of 7. The house is very roomy, with plenty of common space and room to gather. The kitchen has windows that stream in the morning sun. Everything was clean and in good order, and the house felt like home. We were attending a conference at Montreat, a retreat center about 20 minutes away. We plan to return next year!

  • great place to visit! we stayed in drew's home with 4 other friends, 2 babies, and 3 dogs. the owner met us at the house and showed us around. he is very friendly. the house rules are simple to follow and when we had some questions, Drew was easy to get a hold of. the house is much bigger than it appears! the kitchen is well stocked. the house is clean and cozy and in a nice part of town. the patio and front yard are lovely, even though the weather prevented us from using them. we couldn't have asked for a better weekend or a better place to stay. one of my friends from town liked the place so much that she wants to use the house for her wedding.

  • Drew's house was perfect for our non-profit organization's retreat. There were seven of us staying at his house, and most of us hadn't ever met each other before. We had a great time - the house was a perfect setting for our needs. Though we spent two entire days working/meeting in the comfy living room, we never felt cramped or crowded. The natural light afforded by the big windows, and the outdoor patio space with tables were nice complements to the indoor offerings. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our group dinners, and it was easy to get out to downtown Asheville for evening outings.

Drew was a pleasure to talk with and simple to contact. It felt like being in a good friend's home. Everyone was happy with the space and we'd definitely recommend it to others. This place is a great find!
