There is an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops all 2 minutes from the door. Strolling into the city centre by way of Leeson Street and Stephen's Green brings you through some of the most picturesque areas of Georgian Dublin.
The flat can very comfortably sleep up to 2 adults and a child.
Own entrance and private back garden.
Use of bike is complimentary.
The flat has all mod cons, hot water at the flick of a switch and a wood burning stove for extra cosy appeal.
Interaction with Guests
I will be on hand to help with anything and give advice about where to eat, drink, what to see and how to get around.
Ranelagh is a very popular enclave in Dublin these days, it is so close to the City Centre whilst having a village identity all of it own.
It is full of all amenities you could need and you are just off the main street.
Bike for your use, LUAS (tram) just in the village 2 mins away and a plethora of buses to boot.
Other Things to Note
3 night minimum stay.
The house is a 200 year old Georgian conversion.
It is now in two fully separate apartments but as it's so old there is some 'living' noise audible between places. I suppose the only real rule is to be respectful of the space and neighbours.
Ali was a great host, very helpful and hospitable. She was flexible with our arrival and departure times which was great, especially since when we arrived early morning, jet lagged, in the rain, it was so nice to be able to settle in. The tiles were a bit cold coming out of the shower, so we definitely needed to turn up the heater. Location wise, it was close to the light rail transit which heads into the city centre very regularly, but there was lots to see and do right around the corner from the apartment. Was perfect for two, not more. Would definitely stay here again.
Excelente lugar y super amable Ali!!
Increibles 5 noches pasamos alli. Muchas gracias!!
Ali was the perfect host! From the moment I arrived I felt at home and empowered to explore the beautiful surrounding neighborhood. The interior was chic and cozy, great for relaxing at the end of the day. The complimentary bottle of wine made the rainier days a bit less rainy. I would recommend Ali's flat to anyone looking to explore a bit outside of the main areas of Dublin. It's the perfect way to experience life in Dublin.
Our stay in Ali's Ranelagh flat was great! Ali was super fast to correspond and to answer questions, and friendly and bright in person. The flat itself was comfy and in a try great location. Ranelagh is full of restaurants and pubs, and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. If we are lucky enough to be able to visit Dublin again, we will definitely look to stay here again!
The cottage was beautiful and perfect for our needs, and Ranelagh is a lovely old-fashioned and modern high street village location. Ali responded promptly every time we sent a message, and provided much appreciated welcome gifts when we arrived! We arrived very late but Ali organised the collection of the key by our son who lives in Churchtown, and provided daily parking tickets so that we could park securely, very close to the cottage. We definitely recommend Ali's lovely cottage and would like to stay there on our next trip to Dublin.
The flat in Ranelagh was easily one of the best Airbnb experiences I have had. First off, the pictures really don't do it justice. The flat is so cozy and cute. It really felt like we were staying at friend's apartment. Second, it was incredibly clean when we arrived. I usually warn people using Airbnb that they can't have the same expectations as a hotel, but I would say this was cleaner than many hotels. Ranelagh itself is a great little village and we spent a lot of time there. We even left city centre around 9:30 on NYE to go back and finish the night in Ranelagh (ending with hilarious conversation in the line of Luigi's late-night (hint: get the garlic sauce with your pizza). We did not get to meet Ali, but she communicated very well throughout the trip. We did meet her father, Desmond, who was delightful. They also left for us many great treats and essentials to get started after an overnight flight. If you are worried this is too far from city centre, don't be. We were there in December and still walked into town. The tram is also close and easy. Five star experience all around. I would return to Dublin just to stay here.
The cottage is perfect. Great location. Central yet quiet. Ali is very helpful and communicative. Lovely experience.
About the Host, Ali
I love good conversation, laughter and travel above all else.
I work as a casting director by day and have red hair and read books.
I adore sailing to far flung destinations as much as losing myself in an urban jungle.
