Interaction with Guests
I live in the apartment so I have flexible ceck in and ceck out time!
When you will arrive I will be at home to give you the keys of the apartment and of your room, also I will give you a small map of the city, and if you want i will give you some tips about the city (where you can eat for a cheap price, main street market and main monument you can visit in the city center)!
Our apartment is in the heart of the old part of the city, that's the reason because I always suggest to visit the city by foot. In 5 minutes by foot you can walk through the street market of Ballarò, (that is one of the ancient e and biggest markets of the city) and see his gorges colors, you can reach the nice boulevard of the port (I love to see the sunrise there!); you also should see Botanic Garden (12 minute walking), and Piazza Marina where is the the oldest and biggest Ficus three of Italy; you can also visit the gourges fountain of Piazza Pretoria (Fontana Pretoria o della Vergogna). In a walking distance I think you should see Palatin chapel (that is inside Royal Palace) with its very bright mosaics; or if you like horror and weird stuff you will appreciate the Catacomb of Cappuccini.
Also city center is famous for street food, you can have a big Arancina at bar Touring (close to the port) or eat a super delicious "panino panelle e crocchè" ( a typical sandwich) at the famous hosteria " nni Franco u vastiddaro for a really cheap price. You can also have lunch at Zia Pina where you can choose your fish and they will cook it for you! But if you are tired if you'd like, on request, I can prepare dinner for you ( just you should book it during the morning) and you can have dinner on the terrace!
The apartment is located near Piazza Julio Cesare, the central train station and bus terminal in Palermo, which is connected to all the main streets of the city, but with train or busses you can also easily reach some small nice town close to Palermo as Cefalù (that's my favorite!), a small meddle age city on the beach that you can reach in 50 minute with train.
Getting to the airport Falcone e Borsellino reach the apartment is very simple.
If you don't have car:
There are 3 solutions
1) Take a taxi cost is around 40 euros
2) Take the train from the airport (Punta Raisi) to the central station (Piazza Giulio Cesare) the cost is 5.8 euros
3) Take a bus from the airport arrives in Piazza Giulio Cesare the cost is about EUR 6
Once you arrive in Piazza Giulio Cesare can reach the apartment on foot is about 6 minutes.
If you have a car:
About the parking there are 3 solutions:
1) totally free parking in front of the apartment and nearby (20-30 meters and can find them)
2) Pay parking: the cost is 50 cents per hour, are free from 14 to 16 and from 20 to 8, also on Sunday are totally free.
3) Parking garages near the apartment (about 50/100 meters) there are 2, the cost depends on the size of the car.
Other Things to Note
Price is including breakfast, I love baking and cooking (my dream is to be a chef!) so you will always find fresh and homemade cake, pie and bred, also croissant, yogurt, cereals, muesly, jam, fresh fruits, coffee, milk, tea, butter.
For late arrival, I may serve a simple dinner upon request from you by email in advance (price is 15 euro per person)
Be respectful of other guests in the apartment. To leave in order the kitchen if you want to use it for lunch or dinner. If you fall into the night trying not to mess that up. They are simple rules that will make your stay and that of others more enjoyable!
Noemi made me feel welcome already in our first contacts, answering my questions promptly and providing me with all necessary phone numbers.
I thoroughly enjoyed my two days at her place. I loved the quiet room under the roof with its very small private bathroom, her wonderful homemade cakes for breakfast. The roof terrace with its view of Palermo is simply a dream and a nice place for meeting other guests. As Naomi was working while I was there, her partner took care of me and even checked out which busline I could take to reach the place I wanted to go to.
Noemi's apartment is in an ideal position: not far from Central Station, you can reach all the important sights on foot and Ballarò Market practically begins on the other side of the street.
If I could, I would return with pleasure und highly recommend Naomi's place.
Noemi is a wonderful hostess with a true gift for making her guests feel at home. Her apartment is convenient to the train station (five minutes walk) and in the heart of the old city with a bustling street market just a few steps from her door. The roof garden (on the fourth floor…accessible by lift/elevator) has a spectacular view across the tiled roofs and domes of Palermo and the sunset from that vantage point is not to be missed. Noemi is ready to pass on any information you might need about where to go and what to see in Palermo and the surrounding area. Her interest in the food of Sicily is infectious and be prepared for some delicious home baking on the breakfast table! Highly recommended.
We loved staying with noemi...she was fun, helpful, and a great baker! Breakfasts were to die for!
The view from the terrace of Noemi's apart,EMT was spectacular...wonderful sunsets.
Her other guests--repeat visitors, were a treat.
Great central location! Easy to get to from airport with bus. Noemi was very helpful and her baked goods were fantastic. It was clean and comfortable, we would recommend this location. Our room had the bathroom across the hallway.
Noemi was great. Her and Marco were kind, welcoming, and great to chat with. We stayed on the 3rd floor room which was up a steep flight of stairs so would not be ideal for heavy luggage. Breakfast was good- croissants, pastries, yogurt, etc. The only thing I was not fond of was the shower being with the toilet. Overall we enjoyed our time and would stay with Noemi again.
This was an excellent place for my friends and I to stay in Palermo. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and location was right very good (walking distance a variety to landmarks in historic center and right by the main bus/train station). Noemi provided us with good advice and good pastries.
