This is a cosy and neat one double bedroom apartment at the front of the building and at the entrance floor. The bathroom comes with a shower. There is a foldable table and stools in the living room. The building itself was built during the first decades of the republic. We jazzed it up with Mondrian inspired art work and Istanbul silhoutte reliefs. There is an elevator, water tank, shared 2 sets of washer and dryer and closed circuit camera controlled entrance in this building. There is a natural gas combi heater, air conditioner in the living room, hair dryer, clean sheets and towels and free weekly cleaning. Wireless and a diaphone buzzer is a standard in all our flats.
This apartment is very centrally located in Beyoglu. It is 400mt. to Istiklal Avenue and the Demiroren Shopping Mall. Taksim Square is a 5 minute walk and the metro and bus stops are there. You can also take the funicular connecting to the tram line going to the Old city in Taksim Square. If you walk downhill when you get out of your building, you come to Cukurcuma and Tophane districts which are full of things to see: antique dealers, design shops, cafes, art galeries, sights and sounds and smells from the streets…Continue downhill and eventually you’ll come to Tophane to see the great Kılıc Ali Pasa Mosque by Architect Sinan and right there is the tram line to Sultanahmet ( Old City) and Kabatas (for the ferries to the Asian side and the Prince Islands).
1 double bed in the bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room.
The apartment was quite difficult to find, and although we had some communication problems the first night, (ended up staying in the nearby Stories apartment Hotel) we did figure things out and meet the next day. I wont let this influence my rating though, as i feel the mix up was mostly due to bad luck and timing. So, back to the apartment! The bathroom had a really strong odour that was really unpleasant. There was definitely something up with the pipes or something, as it smelled through our whole 7 day stay. We had to keep the door to the bathroom closed so it didnt stink the entire place out. The noise from the street was extremely disruptive at night. I like to go out late, party etc. So i would say i am an uptight person about people coming home late etc. but it was every night - other occupants coming home at 3/4am speaking, laughing loudly right outside the front door of the apartments. This is right next to where the bedroom is, so it made extremely difficult to get a good nights sleep.
Everyday they hose down the windows of the flat for some reason, and although we had never opened the windows (luckily), water came leaking through everywhere all over the floor :/
However, the location is great! I would not stay in this particular apartment again, but i would consider in staying in one of Soner's many other flats that are further back off the street. I had an excellent time in Istanbul, and overall had an adequate stay in the flat.
Everything was like it was declared, the stuff is nice and friendly, it was clean and everything worked! I can recommend this flat. It's really in the center that's pretty nice too. Many (website hidden) Istanbul is great!!
Pretty happy with the place. The location was excellent. I had a small problem with the shower at one point, they send someone to fix it within 30 minutes. Overall, a very good experience.
