Alex welcomed us at the front of the beautiful condo. Showed us around the building and how things worked. I can't say enough about how wonderful my stay was there. I loved looking out the window at the Detroit Rr. This was a great location for the site-seeing that Dean and I did. I have been remembering the experience with good memories.
Alex is a great host. He met us as we arrived and set us up for our stay. This is a secure, quiet and comfortable apartment. It is much larger than I expected. The internet is fast which allowed my husband to work as if he was sitting in his office two time zones away. The bed is very comfortable. There is a beautiful walk along the water front. The residents in this building are very friendly and treated us like we've lived there for years. It is easy to fall in love with this neighborhood.
There are no words to express my stay in Detroit. Alex and his wife are spectacular people. Very accommodating non judgmental great host. Loved the apartment. Planning my next trip to go back and stay with them. Thank you soooo very much.
This place is awesome! Bigger than I expected with everything you could need. Alex was nice enough to lend me a bike too which was perfect as the place is only 20min ride from the centre of town. Heaps of good cycling sites too so I'd reccomend cycling, Detroit is super flat and bike friendly. Nice view of Belle Isle from the living room. Alex was very helpful with advice and reccomendations. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in town!
My son & I spent two nights at Alex's condo. It was perfect for us. Flexible checkin & out, close to what we wanted to do & gated parking! Alex was very nice and gave us recommendations-- we went to the Eastern Market & Slow's. We wanted to know if there was a balcony for my son's telescope. No balcony in the Suite but Alex showed us the Penthouse- a party room and roof top area to set it up! Beautiful!!! and we were the only ones up there-- twice! The bed was comfortable and we liked the tv's to relax. Love being able to cook in and have fridge for a couple meals (I'm a chef) while away from home. It was a great place to stay and we hope to back. My son wants the lava lamp. :-)
Absolutely loved our stay here. We were in the Detroit area for 3 weeks and the apartment made the difference. Located close to downtown and tons of restaurants. The morning view is breathtaking also.
Alex was an awesome host--super warm and welcoming! The apartment was spotless, much larger than the pictures show and perfect for what I needed!

About the Host, Alex
My wife and I recently relocated to Detroit after living in Asia for the last 5 years. I'm originally from California and she's from Hong Kong. Being travelers ourselves we love to visit new places, meet friendly and fascinating people, and experience cultures and cuisines from around the world :)
WHAT BROUGHT US HERE
After driving through Detroit in 2013 we fell in love with the city and its people so we decided to move here. Since 2013 we have been busy saving old houses, removing them from the "demo list" and helping to bring them back to life. We scouted literally every neighborhood in Detroit when we first arrived and we chose this particular neighborhood (Jefferson Chalmers) because of its rich history, great neighbors, and its outstanding natural resources. Convenient river access and proximity to nearby parks makes the location hard to beat and it's really one of the most under-valued neighborhoods in the city.
