Be happy and enjoy my home!
My Host was by far the best host I've ever had on Airbnb - she looked after me very well and made sure my stay was like a home away from home. The description of the residence was very accurate - it was a lovely place to stay and the area was fine with many conviniances such as food stores close by. All in a all a fantastic experience and a lovely place to stay / person to stay with.
I spent 3 nights at Melanie's and had a wonderful stay. Melanie made me feel welcome the moment I arrived with a nice cup of tea, and later took me for a walk into Thirsk to show me the town and on my last night took me for a drive to show me some of the local sites. The house and the bed were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent as Melanie had procured some local sausages that were delicious. The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to the center of Thirsk and a good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Parking and wifi are both great. Thank you Melanie for hosting me and the special treatment you extended to me. Highly recommended.
My family and I stayed at Melanie's cottage for 2 nights and had a fantastic time. The cottage is very comfortable and the lovely furniture and decoration make it very homely. Location was great for trips to York and Whitby. Highly recommended!
We had a great stay at the cottage! Melanie was a wonderful host, and the room had everything we needed for a relaxing night stay. She had good knowledge of the area and helped us plan our day trip. We only stayed for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!
We greatly enjoyed staying at Melanie's cottage. When we arrived she made us feel at home. We had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed and enjoyed the delicious breakfast with produce from a local farm. She was very knowledgeable about directions and attractions in the Yorkshire area. She was a great hostess and was willing to go out of her way to make sure our stay was great.
Melanie is a great host and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Personalised touches in the bedroom like water by the bed and towels made the room feel extra comfortable.
Its a charming cottage with lots of history and character and a real homely feel.
Melanie cooked us a full English with local produce. Ask for one of her eggs from the "Funny Chickens" with small feet. Was so Yummy!
Very charming host with some fantastic food. Cooked dinner together with Melanie and had the best ever home made tomato soup :)
Warmly recommend her cottage as it really is like staying at a friend's place!
I have a secure garage, in which I dream of sheltering vintage cars and motor bikes whilst their owners are also tucked up in my feather beds, enjoying the WiFi, and TV's in every room. Or the cosy sitting room with fire which is also available for your comfort. With possibly 'Striker', a friendly doggy guest in this house, at your feet.
This cottage was my 95 yr old Papa's. I have successfully hosted Airbnb guests both in London and previously in Thirsk, and been a happy guest in a Spanish host's apartment. I have found AirBnB a lovely way to meet people.
I can offer you evening meals with a little warning.
I love Tequila, and to garden. Was an interior designer, film/ fashion stylist and clothes designer.
I can't live without down pillows and duvets, crisp cotton/linen sheets, builders tea, liquorice, cashmere, thermals & Ugg boots in the winter.
My favourite travel destinations have been Lamu, Kenya. Ras Kutani, Stonetown, Zanzibar, & Sand Rivers, Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania. Marrakesh. Istanbul. Goa, Jaipur, & Lakshadweep islands, India. Ibiza. Cartagena, Columbia. Cuba. Oaxaca & Careyes, Mexico. Italy. New York. Paris. Hong Kong. I have yet to really explore the far east & South America.
