The Space

Our B & B is located in the heart of Tuscany and makes it easy for you to visit some of the most important artistic, culinary and wine regions. We are half an hour's drive from Florence, Pisa, Lucca and San Gimignano. Siena is only an hour by car. We are very close to San Miniato, a magnificent medieval town famous for its international truffle fair in November. During the summer there are many musical and theatrical events. The gentle rolling hills here are quiet and peaceful, with easy access to the FI-PI-LI freeway.
Guests stay in a room in our home with a private bathroom and roof top terrace with panoramic views of Tuscan hill towns. The room has a large library with books in several languages along with a stereo and television for you to use. In the morning a breakfast of homemade pastries, fresh juice, coffee or espresso and fruit is served in the cucina.
We provide parking gratis and are about half an hour from major airports (Pisa and Florence).

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Silvia was very welcoming as we arrived at her perfectly located B&B. we spent a very rainy week in Tuscany touring the beautiful countryside and enjoying the food. The apartment is huge and was warm, but the decor is a little "tired", the internet connection was very erratic and the bathroom was the only space with views of the beautiful valley of San Miniato.

  • Silvia was fantastic! She went above and beyond our expectations from the moment she picked us up at the train station, to helping us book a local truffle tour. The view of San Miniato was amazing from upper balcony. We were fortunate enough to stay here during the local truffle festival, which occurs during the first 3 weekends of November. The festival was great for tasting local foods and wine in one central location.

  • The short trip to Sylvia and San Miniato was a super refuge from the crowded sights you come around in this great landscape. Sylvia is a really nice host you like to have around. The breakfast in her cozy livingroom was good. The view and the calm from our terrace we miss already. Next time we take our little daughter with us so she can play with Sylvias children - it really felt like home ;-)

  • Strongly recommend. Silvia is nice and helpful. We had an car accident when we are heading for San Miniato, and she waited us late into the night. The view of the house is breathtaking, and you can have breakfast on the balcony facing the landscape. The location of the bnb is strategic, it is located between Florence and Pisa, so it is a good place if you travel by driving.

  • It was a great pleasure to stay in the house of Silvia. I was traveling alone with my motorbike and Silvia gave me the feeling of coming home in the evening. a great place, nice people, a room with a view... a delicious breakfast. a place to come back.

  • What a great choice to visit Silvia and La Piccionaia! Silvia was a super-friendly host, charming, hospitable, and helpful. The location in San Miniato was perfect. Absolutely beautiful views, no sounds from traffic, close to all service and ”in the middle of everywhere”. We visited Pisa, Florence, Siena, Vinci, San Gimignano, with only short travels in the car. Silvia told us about a great pool area only 5 min away. We are a family of four and stayed for a whole week. We stayed in the apartment, at ground floor, spacious and very convenient for our family. Our children (1 and 4 years old) loved to stay outside in the evenings and play with the two wonderful kids in the host family. The Italian breakfast at the balcony was a prefect start every day. Great coffee! We really recommend La Piccionaia!

  • Silvia was very sweet in accommodating our late check-in and giving us directions to find food and let ourselves back in. The room was clean, comfortable, and the views were quite amazing! The fresh, sun-dried sheets felt like a special welcome. We had everything we needed and our breakfast was perfect. Was great to get to know her and get her help continuing our travels! Stay with Silvia!

  • Silvia was the kindest host ever, arranging all my changes and negotiations of dates and rooms. In the end, we had a great stay, in this really comfortable house. Have no complaints at all. San Miniato is a really nice town, with a lot of great restaurants. The distance to Florence is fair, not a problem to go and return on the same day.
If you're looking for a place to rest in Tuscany, with good access to a lot of nice spots, that's a great option. I'm sure that Silvia will receive you on her best mood, give you great coffee, and you can even play with her charming kids and also feel like home with their only italian speaking really kind grand-mom!
