The Space

1000 square feet with 2 bedrooms, each with private bath is the perfect place for business or vacation travel. Could sleep 4 easily, maybe a 5th on new leather sofa. Blow up air mattress beds for over 4 guests. Roof top terrace and exercise room are a real bonus. Just a few minute's (4 blocks) walk to CNN, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coke, Atlanta Ferris Wheel and soon the College Football Hall of Fame. Atlanta's NEW electric Street Car system (like New Orleans and San Fransisco) is scheduled to begin operation in early summer 2014. Boarding at Woordruff Park, across the street, runs to MLK Jr. Center and Olympic Park.

Guest Access

Access to ensuite washer and dryer, roof top terrace, work out room. MARTA Train stops just a block away and takes riders to ATL Airport, Lenox Mall/Phipps Plaza, High Museum, Georgia Dome, new College Football Hall of Fame, Hard Rock Cafe. FOX Theatre is up Peachtree St., one mile. Movie theatres at Atlantic Station and on Monroe St.

Interaction with Guests

We rent the full space and do not live in our unit. But we work across the street at Georgia State University and are nearby if you need us. I am a writer, theatre director and grow coffee in the Georgia mountains, Yonah Coffee. My son, co-owner, owns a men's shop just down the street. Happy to visit with you over coffee at The Landmark about what to do in Atlanta.

The Neighborhood

Secured garage parking across the street ($18 a day), tree-lined Broad Street with so many international foods to enjoy at bargain lunch time prices, many with sidewalk tables with umbrellas, lots to do within walking distance, MARTA Train a block away to take you to most of Atlanta. Atlanta's new old fashioned streetcar system begins early this summer and will stop across the street.
MLK Center and President Carter Center nearby.

Getting around

MARTA Train, commuter buses, taxi, airport is on MARTA Train, all within a block. Steetcar system begins operation in late summer 2014 or early fall.

Other Things to Note

Grady Hospital, CVS, Walk In Clinics, US Post Office, FedEx, GSU University Library, 24 hr coffee shops, police station, MARTA Train...all within a block or two. 24 Hour Concierge at front door for safety, building requires pass to enter. Food delivery service will deliver food from most restaurants to lobby for you. Parking meters on all streets nearby $2 an hour and they take credit cards, 2 hr limit. Parking garage across the street, $18 a day. A few 20 min FREE unload spots available, but call to plan that. Acclaimed restaurants Hard Rock Cafe, Fire of Brazil, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood, Ruth's Chris Steak House, all a short walk away. Dozens of other, smaller, equally good restaurants even closer.

  • Richard is a wonderful, easy going and generous host. Richard has compiled explicit instructions regarding the condo and its surroundings, also for guest there are local advertisements, flyers and menus.

The apartment is better than described. Lovely place to stay in Downtown Atlanta, and the rooftop access is wonderful. There is also a kitchen area on the roof where you can cook a lovely breakfast or romantic dinner and eat and enjoy a spectacular view.

I will recommend to friends and family as a great place to stay in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Richard's apartment was in a great location and is a really cool old building. It is really comfortable inside and very well equipped with lots of room. Richard was a great host- friendly, informative and accommodating. Would highly recommend this as the place to stay in Atlanta

  • Richard was an excellent host. He was extremely friendly and helpful offering suggestions about places to eat, nearby parking, and directions to all our destinations. Our group was three guys in town for a conference at the Georgia World Congress Center, and the condo was comfortable and adequate for all our needs. The William-Oliver Building is extremely close to the Five Points MARTA station and only a short walk to GWCC and Centennial Olympic Park (CNN, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, etc.). We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go downtown, and we felt perfectly safe. One member of our group plans to return to stay at the condo with his family in the near future. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend it for others needing a place to stay in the Downtown/5 Points area.

  • We had a nice stay at the condo. Everything was as described with easy access to the Marta and our convention. The coffee was great, home brew and it was nice they left us snacks and water. What was very kind of Richard was that we had packages sent ahead of time which they had there upon our arrival. Awesome!! Thanks for a great stay, sure more comfortable and affordable than the Hilton!! :)

  • My family and I enjoyed our stay at Richard's downtown Atlanta apartment. It's easy to find and conveniently located to such attractions as Centennial Park, or Skyview Atlanta. There is also plenty of parking nearby.

Communication with Richard was a breeze. Richard provided clear instructions ahead of time and then met us at arrival to be sure everything was in place.

Richard's apartment was just as promised. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to when I may do so again.

  • The place was great, so clean and well prepared for travelers and they were very helpful in arranging things! Was very central to Marta and downtown, great historic building with a gym. Definitely would recommend!

  • Richard was an excellent host. He was out of town and could not meet us personally when we arrived, yet still made sure everything was ready upon our arrival and communicated it to us well in advance. He was very easy to get a hold of during our stay, and provided a lot of great information about places to go in Atlanta.

The apartment was lovely - we comfortably slept four adults, with two sharing a bed and then two singles. Having two bathrooms with showers was also really excellent. Everything was clean and cozy, and we loved the full kitchen and laundry facilities.

The location was great as well. We ended up parking in a lot a couple of blocks away but there were a ton of pay lots very close by, and the one we were in (on nearby Luckie Street) was only $16 for 24 hours. There was also an unloading zone at the back of the building so we didn't have to carry our luggage from the lot. The building was walking distance (under 15 minutes) from many restaurants and pubs, and from attractions like the World of Coca Cola. My only comment, as four young women, was that the apartment is downtown and so walking around after dark meant keeping our wits, as you would walking around downtown in any city. The building felt very safe and the concierge was excellent.

I would definitely stay with Richard again, and recommend the apartment to anyone who would like to stay in downtown Atlanta and explore the area on foot!

  • Our stay on Peachtree St was absolutely magical! Kirk met us on arrival and showed us to the beautiful condo. The building itself is indescribably charming and gorgeous; all the Art Deco elements of the William Oliver are stunning. The condo, similarly, is beautiful and has all the comforts of home. Richard and Kirk are the most delightful of hosts and were available instantly if they were needed for anything. Kirk gave us a lovely backstory about the area and the building itself, and provided us with an overview of some of the things to do in town, too. Overall, we had a fantastic stay! Couldn't ask for a better experience!

  • What i didn't expect, was to be have the experience be beyond my expectations. Richard made the process seamless and his son Jonathan was a great help also. He was available to help us navigate to a great unloading spot and gave us an informative tour also. Everything we needed was within a ten minute walk, which was very convenient. My other 2 travel companions enjoyed the stay also.
