The Space

The log home atmosphere is very special. Also the home is situated on a very private location with nothing but woods visible. Perfect for a celebrity or someone really wanting to get away. Something very special is that we offer full service gourmet meals upon request.

Guest Access

You will have full access to the home except for the master bedroom and study.

Interaction with Guests

We do live in the home with a private entrance for us. We can interact as much or little as our guest choose.

The Neighborhood

We live in a rural setting but are just minutes from everything.

Getting around

Parking is included, including enough space for bus or large RV parking. There is no public transit in our area.

Other Things to Note

If you are interested in a full service gourmet meal, complete with wine, let me know what you might like (hint: Charleston has great fresh seafood) and we can discuss a menu to your liking. Lunch or dinner.
Our shaded porch is a great place to relax, meals can also be served there.
Outdoor bonfires can also be arranged upon request.

  • We had SUCH a great time with Alan and Beth! We would absolutely stay with them again. They were very accommodating and thoughtful, and fun to be around. Spanky (their pup) is a very sweet boy. They were very helpful with suggesting great restaurants and places to go. They really made our trip to Charleston a great one! Thanks guys!

  • Hello Airbnb searchers! If you're wanting to have a stay in or around the Charleston area-don't scroll any further! THIS is the spot! Alan & his wife Elizabeth are super laid back, easy going & truly fun people. Our stay was unique in that we actually spent a little time together which made our trip perfect! The home life is very nice, welcoming, private & very clean! Eclectic in terms of antiques - loved looking at all the "way back when" collectibles! Got great suggestions on places to eat! Wild Olive is a MUST! I think you'll dig these find people! Just book it & get your trip planned:)

  • Alan and his wife were lovely hosts. Their cabin is clean and charming. My brother and I had an awesome time in charleston.

Be sure to let them know if you want to use the hot tub as they may need time to heat it up.

Overall, we loved the log cabin and would definitely stay there again!

  • Alan offered quick response to our messages. The cabin is really nice and new (maybe 8 years old) and decorated with beautiful antiques. Alan and Elizabeth are some of the nicest people that I have ever met. We enjoyed spending a few minutes talking each day. They offered great suggestions about Charleston which was about a 20 minute drive from their cabin. I actually enjoyed the drive into Charleston. We were able to save over a hundred dollars a day by staying with them rather than in Charleston. The bedroom upstairs is cozy and we slept like babies on their comfortable mattress. We enjoyed a glass of wine and put our feet in their hot tub at night. We could see that Alan checks the PH levels and everything to make sure it is in good condition. We got back late (around 12PM) our last night. Alan and Elizabeth were fine with that and had given us a key and told us to come and go as we please. The cabin is very peaceful and surrounded by a beautiful forest. I wish I had taken up Alan on making a meal for us! :-) He worked at all of the restaurants that we went to! When we come back to Charleston, we will want to book with them again. I highly recommend them.

  • It was a nice place: clean, private and quiet. We enjoyed the drive there and seeing the site "off the beaten path". Alan and Elizabeth were great. They told us of all the things going on in town and a round the beach. The best tip was a local place to eat were the farmers are the owners....lots of fresh food and delicious!

  • This home was better than anything I expected. Hot tub in the woods? Yes please! Alan and Elizabeth were warm and inviting. This was our honeymoon and since we live in Michigan we did not know the area at all. Alan and Elizabeth had lots of suggestions of things to see and to do that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. The home is located in a country/woodish area and is incredibly beautiful and quiet. The home is tucked away in the country but beaches and downtown Charleston are only about 10 miles away.

  • What a wonderful visit to Charleston and first experience with airbnb ! Alan & Elizabeth were very pleasant, gratious, friendly and welcoming hosts, their home is beautiful and very clean, the space we rented was a wonderful 'suite' with 2 bedrooms and a private bath, and as my daughter said the next morning "I can't remember the last time I slept so well" !!! It was so nice to get tips on visiting Charleston and directions to avoid the traffic from someone who lives there, and to escape the business of the tourist area to this quiet retreat in the woods.

  • This is a beautiful house in a very quiet neighborhood, but not far from downtown Charleston. Alan was very helpful in giving us directions to everywhere we wanted to go - and he knew better ways to get places than our GPS. Elizabeth provided me with makings for light breakfast every morning. One night we finished our sightseen activities early and spent a delightful evening on their porch. This is the place, if you want to rest and relax.

  • We stayed with Alan and his wife for one night and they were excellent hosts in a great space. Within their home you have your own loft area, complete with two bedrooms and your own private bathroom. The loft is beautiful and overlooks the interior of the house and the wooded area surrounding the home. The house is approximately 25 minutes from central Charleston, with a beautiful drive between their home and the city. All communication was very quick (almost immediate) and we would recommend anyone visiting Charleston stay in this fantastic home.
