Enjoy the fabulous view of Dunguaire Castle from this thatch cottage residence. Only a five minute stroll along the sea front to the fishing village of Kinvara which boasts fine restaurants and lively pubs. Kinvara is en route to the Cliffs of Moher.
I have to say I love living here. I have sea and castle views and a garden out front with enough space for my herb and veg patch. Together with my garden and hens I offer something a little different with a true country living experience, yet only minutes from town. Inside is spacious and that includes the bedrooms also, the stove keeps the house warm on chilly nights.
Apart from a private double room, equipped with wash hand basin and tea making facilities, guests have access to the downstairs area including all kitchen appliances, oven, fridge, washing machine etc. Although I do not supply breakfast, guests are welcome to use the kitchen to cater for all their culinary needs, alternatively there are friendly cafes just a 5 minute sea stroll away . There is also wireless internet connection. The bathroom is shared and has an electric shower with good water pressure.
From March- October there are two bedrooms available in my cottage, each with identical facilities and castle views. If you find that the date is unavailable on this listing you can find it on my other identical listing.
Interaction with Guests
I love meeting new people and chatting to visitors and can supply some good tips for local interesting sites eg: holy wells, Burren walks, beach strolls. I have a keen interest in Burren flora and know many mountain walks off the beaten track.
I'm only five minutes walk from the village so it's lovely to head into town for the regular traditional music session or to the Italian restaurant for one of their fine pizzas. There is a fabulous open farmers market every Friday from Spring through to late Autumn with great music to listen to while folk catch up and have a coffee. The George on the Quay or the Strawberry Hedgehog cafe do a great breakfast, again only minutes from the cottage.
To be honest the best way of getting around in this area is by car hire. There is a bus that travels to Galway twice a day, this bus service goes to Cliff of Moher also.
Other Things to Note
You will have the delight of meeting my extremely friendly and cuddly dog Nanook and her trusty side-kick Max, the most gorgeous German Shepard.
*Please note, if you would like to book two rooms in the house you can book one room here and another at this link:https://www.airbnb.ie/manage-listing/2153822/calendar.
As this is a self service venture, guests are required to leave the kitchen as they found it.
Please note check in is after 6pm. If a difficulty arises around check in (ie: an early Castle banquet booking) please contact me in advance to facilitate possible alternative arrangements.
We really enjoyed our short stay here. Emma & Peter made us feel welcome and comfortable in their adorable cozy cottage, and their dogs were super sweet. The cottage is in a lovely location and easy to find.
Staying with Emma was a dream- this thatch room cottage is big, out of the city, with very friendly and helpful hosts, and at a great bargain. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
We had a great stay at Emma's place. It is in an amazing spot, and looks directly over a castle!!
We want to thank Emma And Peter for being such wonderful hosts. They gave us tips each evening of places to go and see. Their cottage is lovely and really is right across from a castle! Easy to walk into the village and close to the burren. We are delighted that we stayed with them.
We had a great stay at Emma and Peter cottage. They were great host, very easy to reach and communicative, very helpful with suggestions for areas to see around Kinvarra. On top Peter helped us to fix a problem with our car. Their two dogs, Nanook and Max were adorable, we literally loved them ! Everything was exactly like on the pictures, the house was nice and clean, even tea, coffee, sugar, towels etc. were provided. We can really recommend staying at Emma'a cottage!
LOVED this place. So cozy and cute, very unique. Emma was fantastic and quick with communication. We also loved their dogs Nanook & Max, super social and always welcoming. Great location in Kinvarra and great view of the castle. Would definitely love to stay here again when we return!
The cottage is located in a beautiful setting, the castle is just in front of the window.
We didn't have much time to spend with them but Emma and Peter gave us some recommendations when we asked about places to visit in the area. We cannot forget about their lovely dogs :)
