About this listing

Enjoy the fabulous view of Dunguaire Castle from this thatch cottage residence. Only a five minute stroll along the sea front to the fishing village of Kinvara which boasts fine restaurants and lively pubs. Kinvara is en route to the Cliffs of Moher.

The space

Welcome folks!
I have to say we love living here. We have sea and castle views from most windows and a garden out front with enough space for my herb and veg patch. Together with my garden and hens I offer something a little different with a true country living experience, yet only minutes from town. Inside is spacious and that includes the bedrooms also, the stove keeps the house warm on chilly nights.

Guest access

Apart from a private double room, equipped with wash hand basin and tea making facilities, guests have access to kitchen facilities for breakfast ONLY. Although I do not supply breakfast, guests are welcome to use the kitchen to cater for all their culinary needs, alternatively there are friendly cafes just a 5 minute sea stroll away . There is also wireless internet connection. The bathroom is shared and has an electric shower with good water pressure. This is an old house with bundles of character, the interior is quaint and rustic.

Interaction with guests

I love meeting new people and chatting to visitors and can supply some good tips for local interesting sites eg: holy wells, Burren walks, beach strolls. I have a keen interest in Burren flora and know many mountain walks off the beaten track.

The neighborhood

I'm only five minutes walk from the village so it's lovely to head into town for the regular traditional music session or to the Italian restaurant for one of their fine pizzas. There is a fabulous open farmers market every Friday from Spring through to late Autumn with great music to listen to while folk catch up and have a coffee. The George on the Quay or the Strawberry Hedgehog cafe do a great breakfast, again only minutes from the cottage.

Getting around

To be honest the best way of getting around in this area is by car hire. There is a bus that travels to Galway twice a day, this bus service goes to Cliff of Moher also.

Other things to note

You will have the delight of meeting my extremely friendly and cuddly dog Nanook and her trusty side-kick Max, the most gorgeous German Shepard. We now have a new addition, a kitten!

This was the first time my friend and I used airbnb and it was a great experience. Emma was a great host and was very helpful and accommodating . The cottage was exactly how it was described and very beautiful . It was very cozy and the view was was exactly what we had expected it to be . I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend this place to friends and even go back there myself.

If we could rate this experience a 6/5, we would! Staying with Emma and Peter really made our entire trip-- the cottage is beautiful, it's a perfect little walk to the town for delicious local Irish breakfast, to castle and shops-- just lovely. So lovely, in fact, that we changed our plans to stay here longer!! You are in for a treat!!!

Exactly what it says it is. The room is upstairs in a small 2 bedroom Irish home. The bedroom Is a good size -the bathroom is shared and the shower is tiny. Emma and Peter could not be nicer and very cool people. Great experience.

Emma and Peter were great hosts, friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed Maxi and Nanook, their gentle pet dogs especially with the new kitten! The cottage was just as in the pictures, so full of character, warm and surprisingly with really spacious bedrooms. The location was perfect for walking the Burren and on to the cliffs of Moher. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to return.

Friendly and cheery, I will make you most welcome in my lovely home. There are some fantastic walks in the surrounding area if that's your thing. I know if I was traveling to a new country I would want to know all the beautiful places in nature the locals like to visit.
If the date you're looking at isn't available check out my other listing for the other bedroom in the house here's the link on the air BnB website.
