Hello fellow airbnbers!
When we travel (which we like to do often!) we enjoy renting out our Beautiful one bedroom apt in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn where we have lived for over 10 years.
The apartment is not huge but we keep it very clean and neat and as uncluttered as we possibly can, and it has a lively and artistic decor. There is a nice sized living room with two big bay windows with views of brownstones and trees, an open kitchen, a cozy, simple bedroom, and a large bathroom with a full bath. There is an option for a small Alma Bloom mini crib in the bedroom, it works well for small babies. If you don't need it, we just fold it up and leave it in the corner. You can also fit a pack-n-play. We also have a great baby bath you are welcome to use in the tub.
The building has 20 units, it is well maintained and we have very friendly and helpful neighbors.
The apartment is on the First floor which is rare in these parts, and will save your knees especially when lugging up your suitcase.
We also have a Projector with a 60" projector screen in the living room for fabulous home entertainment, it connects to our cable TV, and can also connect to your laptop of ipad via a VGA adapter (which we provide). We have very fast WIFI, and our audio receiver has an attachment for your digital device for listening to music.
One of the biggest perks about our apartment is its proximity to the train and to the many amazing boutiques, bars, and restaurants on bustling Smith street. The F/G Carroll street subway stop is only one block away. It takes 10 minutes to get to the East Village in Manhattan.
We are also around the corner from Carroll Park which has an amazing playground and it's a fun place to just sit and drink your coffee which you will hopefully buy from the amazing Smith Canteen Cafe across the street.
We are just one mile from Prospect Park, straight up Union Street, or you can also take a 5 minute subway ride to the 15th street entrance.
We are walking distance from Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Park Slope, and Redhook, all amazing neighborhoods worth exploring. We just love the new water front development in BK Heights which leads to Brooklyn Bridge Park- A must see!
We charge 150/night during the weekends and 125/night during the week plus a 60 dollar cleaning fee.
Our apartment is best suited for two people, but a third could fit on the couch if he/she is not too tall (it is not a sleeper, and it's approx 70" long), and we can also provide an aero bed. Keep in mind that the bathroom is through the bedroom.
When we travel, we also like to stay in airbnb rentals, so we know what you expect and we are very conscious about meeting those expectations and making you feel comfortable in our home. There are always fresh linens and towels for you and small bites in the fridge. We enjoy our coffee with a french press, not a coffee maker, and we do not have a microwave, just in case that matters to you.
Our apartment has very strong Air Conditioning in the summer and powerful heat in the winter.
We hope you are OK with watering our plants while you stay here.
We are always happy to answer any questions you may have, and we look forwarding to hosting you at our lovely abode!

We stayed at Jess and Josh's place in December. The apartment is really cozy and Union st is a lovely and safety residential street with friendly neighbors. Everything you need is near the apartment: bars, restaurants, laundry and markets. We advice this location for whom desire to live as a New Yorker ad not only as a tourist. The subway is really near and well linked with Manhattan (in 20 minutes you reach the Empire State Building). The hosts are really nice and helpful and they solved all our problem/doubts very quickly
Jess and Josh's apartment was perfect for our weekend stay in Brooklyn. We were in town for a friend's wedding and were worried about finding street parking, but it was surprisingly easy in their neighborhood. We felt safe and very comfortable the entire time. The little wine bar where the wedding was held (Black Mountain Wine House), was only a block away and the F and G train stop on Carroll Street was also only a block down and around the corner. A great location, a clean, cozy apartment, and a safe, peaceful neighborhood; we really couldn't have asked for more! Also, Jess was extremely accommodating and helpful. She responded to my questions quickly, and making arrangements to arrive/pick up keys/depart was super easy. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much, Jess and Josh!
We stayed a few days at Jess and Josh's place in September 2013 and had a great time. The apartment is very nice, with modern equipment and situated in an interesting, safe area of Brooklyn, very close to a subway station that takes you to Manhattan in about 20 minutes.Jess was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions.
My girlfriend and I were both very happy with the apartment, the location and the very detailed instructions and advice on local restaurants and stores that Jess and Josh emailed us.
The apartment is a great one-bedroom with high ceilings. The projection TV is simple to use and a joy to have. The two drawers available in the dresser plus the multiple hooks on the back of the bathroom and bedroom doors made it easy to unpack our clothes for the week. It is an inviting home for travelers.
The neighborhood has everything we wanted. The subway is a one-minute walk, and 10 minutes puts you in lower Manhattan. Union is a lovely quiet residential street with friendly neighbors. Smith Street is full of wonderful restaurants and stores. Sitting at the outdoors cafes makes people watching fun.
Our week in New York was fabulous partly due to coming home to such a comfortable place.
Great place and great location. Jess was very communicative and helpful before and during my stay. Everything in the apartment was as expected. And, given the heatwave during my stay I greatly appreciated the powerful A/C unit! You can't beat the location - lots of restaurants nearby and the train 1/2 block away for easy access to anywhere else in Brooklyn or Manhattan. I recommend!
This place is just like home! Confortable, cool (with a powerful aircon), beutifully decorated, spacious. A great place to rest after a long day walking in NYC.
Jess and Josh were extremely heplful, answering all the emails during da stay. They even made a nice apartment manual with useful information about restaurants, particularities of the apartment, etc.
I highly recommend!
Jess and Josh were great hosts! The apartment is in a perfect location and feels very comfy. Great air-conditioning. We would definitely stay again.
My husband and I stayed at Jess and josh's apartment while visiting Brooklyn for a wedding (at "The Green Building" which is only a couple blocks away on Union -- super convenient!) The apartment was lovely, clean and spacious for two people. We especially appreciated the A/C because it was a very hot/humid weekend. Wonderful, communicative hosts. We would definitely stay here again.
This apartment was perfect for our stay in Brooklyn! We could not have asked for a better location and the place was cozy and felt like home. Would definitely stay here again.
