The recently remodeled apartment is about 500 square feet in two rooms plus a bathroom. It is directly under and completely separate from the main living space of the house.

Mineral King Guest House has a complete kitchen with a gas barbecue outside. A stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, etc., allows you to cook meals if you choose to eat in. Coffee, juice, bagels, fruit, condiments, and a variety of snacks are provided for your convenience.

The apartment has one bedroom, with a queen bed, and a full-size fold-out couch in the living room area. The space is ideal for a couple, plus one additional person. In addition, we could put a fold-out futon on the floor of the bedroom. The apartment has a unique, triangular-shaped bathroom with shower.

Access to a the washer and dryer can be arranged in advance.

A variety of games and books is available along with Wifi.

Our home is very private and uniquely built around a hillside. The panoramic view is spectacular - you'll wake up with a smile as you watch the hills turn golden in the morning sun, and you'll experience the peaceful rose glow from the setting sun.

Guest access
During your stay, you will have the entire apartment and may use the pool and deck whenever you wish. The pool is not heated and is covered from late October until May.

Other things to note
There are various animal trails through the property and you may see deer, coyote, raccoon, skunks, possums, bear, or even a bobcat. Bird watching is also a joy from the deck. There are many types of hawks, hummingbirds, songbirds and migratory species.

Neighborhood highlights

We're just 2 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park at Ash Mountain, and 30 miles from Giant Forest and the General Sherman Tree. Take binoculars when you climb Moro Rock and see if you can spot our house from the top. In the summer and fall, you can continue up our road to Mineral King where hiking trails range from easy to challenging. You can also reach the park by going to the end of South Fork Rd, where the ladybugs hibernate in the winter.

If you like mountain biking, consider heading up Skyline Drive and exploring the trails on the BLM property at Salt Creek.

Nearby attractions include mountain biking, river rafting (in season), swimming and house boating on the lake, and trail rides through the local stables. St. Anthony's Retreat Center is close by and offers a great place for reflection.

If archeology is your passion, you can explore the area for Native American artifacts, grinding holes, and pictographs, particularly at Hospital Rock.

Local restaurants offer a variety of dining options. We highly recommend Sierra Subs and Salads.

If shopping interests you, we have several options. Heart's Desire will provide exactly the right gift to take home to family and friends. The Barn has a variety of selections from local artists. Nadi Spencer's art studio is always a treat to visit.
