Interaction with Guests
We have a people-friendly Great Dane who comes inside when we are at home. If traveling with your pets, we ask that you lodge them at the Windcrest Pet Resort located just 5 minutes away.
We are located in a residential neighborhood within a few driving minutes of the main shopping district on Loop 288, Lake Lewisville and boat or jet ski rentals, Water Works Park, historic downtown Denton, University of North Texas and Texas Womans University. We are within two miles of NCTC, the Regional Medical Center, and a few neighborhood restaurants.
Don Camillo's is the best Italian restaurant in town and is just a 30 min walk or 10 min bike ride from our front door.
The DART MedPark Train Station is 1.5 miles north along the Denton Katy Trail. The line goes north to downtown Denton and south to Lake Lewisville, Carrollton, Addison and downtown Dallas.
Other Things to Note
The City of Denton has one of the most aggressive and successful renewable energy programs in the nation. It was one of our main reasons for choosing Denton as our home. In doing our part, our home currently generates 35-50% of its own electricity with photo-voltaic (solar) panels. You can help us conserve energy by turning off lights and appliances when you're away.
Our check-in and check-out times are flexible. If you have a travel schedule that requires a check-in before 2 p.m. or a check-out after 12 noon, please let us know in advance.
If you anticipate that you will have a temporary or additional guest during your stay, or if the duration of your stay needs to change for any reason, we will happily accommodate you if you can provide us with 24 hours notice.
We do not provide breakfast beyond coffee and tea. There are several groceries, restaurants and fast food locations within a few miles by bicycle or car, and you are welcome to use the refrigerator and pantry for any provisions. The kitchen is available to guests for light use.
A bathroom, directly next door to the guest room, is reserved for your exclusive use. Basic toiletries as well as bedroom and bathroom linens are provided.
Our Great Dane would love to meet you. If large dogs are not your style, for short stays we can arrange to restrict her activity to the private portions of the home.
We ask that you please lower the toilet lid or close the bathroom door during your stay to prevent our curious canine from using the watering hole' and leaving a dribbly mess behind!
The queen Serta pillowtop bed sleeps two adults comfortably. It is occasionally possible with prior arrangement for an additional feathertop mattress (100% real down feathers) to be added to the bed for extra softness.
Smoking is allowed in outdoor covered patio spaces only.
Parking is available on either side of the street.
Karina was a wonderful host! Even though we never got a chance to see her, we felt welcomed and comfortable. The room and the rest of the house was exactly as it was described and beyond. Karina provided just about anything one could need, and we enjoyed our stay very much. If we come back to Denton, we would love to stay here again!
What gracious hosts!
Warm and welcome accommodations all around. Sweet but calm dog. I couldn't be happier about my first air bnb experience! So glad it was with them.
Karina and her husband were an incredibly welcoming and friendly couple. The space is very nice with an incredibly comfortable bed.
They provided a bottle of water and lots of information of things around Denton.
Everything was provided for and I greatly enjoyed my stay. They also had the sweetest great dane, which really only made things better.
If I need to come back to town, I'd come back to stay in a heartbeat.
Great quiet home with small touches that made it feel like I was staying in a hotel
My stay with Karina and Aaron was wonderful. They have a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood located just off I35 so very easy and accessible. Karina was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. The accommodations were just as pictured. Very clean and comfortable with nice little extra amenities that added that special little touch which made me feel welcomed. My schedule was quite full while I was there but I had some time to visit with Karina and Aaron on my last evening. Very nice people with sweet spirits. I definitely recommend their place and I look forward to staying with them the next time I come to Dallas.
Karina was so nice, and the room we stayed in was lovely! My boyfriend and I are pretty introverted, so she let us know that she'd be there if we needed anything, and left us undisturbed for the rest of our stay. We really appreciated that, and we also appreciated the company of her adorable dog (we even called the dog into our room a couple of times for pets)! I'd highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in the Denton area.
Karina was a great hostess. She was home when we arrived. This was our first Airbnb experience so we were a little nervous. Karina's warm spirit made us feel at ease instantly. Her home was very comfortable, and the cleanliness was impeccable. Magna her Great Dane was so sweet. We even hiked together on a neighborhood trail!
The neighborhood was very lovely, quiet and safe feeling. We would definitely come back when we travel to Denton again.
My husband and I bought this house when we married and we have lived here for almost ten years. Aaron works full-time for an auto dealership and I work full-time at a property management software company. We are both very social, love animals, and spend a lot of time with our friends and family. We also love meeting new people and having them stay in our home. We tend to be home in the evenings for meals and perhaps a movie. Our guests are always welcome to join us, but we are courteous of your hours and the house is generally quiet. Our Great Dane is a people lover, too, and she will give you plenty of hugs, kisses and attention with very little prompting! (We did not join the group, but we are LGBT-friendly.)
