Interaction with Guests
We value your privacy and will do our best to help create your ideal vacation. Guests have the option of exploring on their own or taking in one of our magical horse experiences. Visit our website (search Anam Cara Farm and Learning Center) for a program that suites your needs. Otherwise, if you choose to visit our extended family of horses, sheep, cats and dogs we ask that you arrange an introduction before hand.
Quiet and peaceful with very little traffic, friends and family describe the farm as "a little piece of heaven".
For those venturing off on their own, we encourage you to take in the charms of historic Fort Langley, visit the LEPP farmer’s market, or view the glorious Bradner spring bulb festival. Although only a short drive from incredible shopping in Abbotsford, you can also bicycle along the country roads that parallel the mighty Fraser River or visit the local wineries. Better yet, just find yourself a spot within our peaceful seven acres and enjoy meeting the rest of our family: horses, sheep, cats and dogs and the eagles and ravens that dance above you.
Anam Cara offers the best of country living while being only a short distance (12 minutes drive) from great shopping and restaurants. Located amongst the rolling hills and gentle glens of Mount Lehman, Abbotsford, we are only a 45 minute drive from Bellingham, WA, 20 minutes from the Abbotsford International Airport and one hour from downtown Vancouver.
The Bed and Breakfast at Anam Cara is located at the end of a country cul-de-sac. While the area is popular for cyclists, runners and walkers, there are no nearby bus stops.
Other Things to Note

We are on septic and have to be diligent about what goes into the septic field (more information upon arrival). We had a wonderful stay of 2 nights at Anam Cara.
Carla and Steve gave us a very warm welcome and made sure that we did not miss anything.
Thank you very much again, we hope to stay at your place again! ;-)
Carla was welcoming and kind. The setting of this accommodation is remote, yet beautiful with lots of wonderful animals. Very peaceful and serene. Great for a 'retreat'.
I very much enjoyed my stay. This place is peaceful, private very clean and very comfortable. Carla is very nice and easy to get along with and she gave me my space to enjoy myselfe. It was a very nice and very clean flat.
I definitely will come back!
This Bed and Breakfast was absolutely delightful. The hosts were so very kind and thoughtful. The rooms were unbelievably lovely and the setting was too. We were close to Ft Langley BC where were enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Beatnik at the recommendation of our hosts. I just can't even express how comfortable we were and how beautiful this place was.
I and my two traveling companions thoroughly enjoyed staying at Carla's beautiful two bedroom retreat. Everything in the unit is modern and clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast of fruit, muffins, yogurt, etc. was great. Although the location is rural (very pleasant), dining options are not far.
We had a wonderful stay. I went with my two young daughters and they loved the wide open spaces, all the friendly animals to play with. The place is beautifully decorated, private and they provide a great healthy organic breakfast. We hope to visit again!
Our stay at Anam Cara was just as we pictured it. A nice quiet and relaxing couple of days on a farm surrounded by horses sheep dogs and cats. Steve and Carla are exceptional hosts who have that particular eye for detail that will make your stay very special. Thanks again for a wonderful time and we ill be back for some more riding lessons.
