Cosy clean light room with double bed and large desk and Wi Fi Overlooking the famous Portobello Road and market.
This is a great area to stay in. It is within zone two and a two min walk from Ladbroke Grove tube station, with easy access to the rest of central London. At the same time we live in the most friendly and laid back bohemian area of London. It is full of cafes and restaurants, vintage clothing shops and the eclectic and buzzing world famous market on Friday and Saturdays.
This is a family house, well lived in and with lots of space. But don't expect a whit washed hotel like place. The house is as bohemian as the area of Portobello, and furnished with treasures and finds from Portobello market.
You can walk from here to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, and to Holland Park, with it's beautiful gardens and peacocks.
I enjoyed my stay at Julie's house.
Great location, good restaurants a stride away. The room was very bright and the bed comfortable. Julie was welcoming and friendly. I found the bathroom facilities a little lacking as I had to get to work in the morning and found it quite frustrating running up and down the stairs to find either the loo or the bathroom occupied.
Friendly cats, good coffee and I'm sure Julie will be welcoming people for many years to come!
I had a lovely stay with Julie. The room was comfy and clean, in a great location up Portobello Road, just a short walk to the tube, and a longer (but highly recommended walk) to Notting Hill Gate. Julie was gracious and the cats were adorable. Highly recommend it!
The room: seemed small at first (I am American, after all!), but had plenty of room for my suitcases, all the stuff I bought, and myself - even my husband and mother (one at a time) and their stuff when they came to visit me!
The location: Perfect - especially for those who wish to use public transport. There was nowhere in the city I couldn't get to with ease, including train depots and airports. The tube station is just around the corner, and there are at least three bus stops within five minutes from which you can ride to any part of the city. Also, the neighborhood is authentic and eclectic, with excellent food and shopping at your front door. I'm not particularly outgoing, but by the time I left I knew the nearby restaurateurs, the shopkeepers and dry cleaners - it's a very friendly neighborhood! I frequently walked to Kensington Gardens and the Victoria and Albert Museum - it's a lovely walk!
Julie is a wonderful hostess and made me feel very welcome. She was always available when I had questions but I always felt that I had complete privacy. (She gave me a lock for the room door, but I never felt the need to use it... which also says something nice about AirBnB users, too, I think.)
I stayed with Julie for most of the summer, and didn't want to leave!
Loved this apartment! Decorated so nicely, would love to own a place just like it! Julie was friendly but didn't really see her. The cats were great company! Would stay here again:)
The appartment is very conveniently located on portobello road and the room has a big bright and sunny window. Will be back:)
My daughter stayed in this lovely room for two months and she totally loved it. The house is very charming, clean and cozy, the cats are sweet and Julie is a very nice and welcoming host. The neighborhood is safe, inspiring and fun - a perfect place to stay in London. Subway and busses are very close, restaurants and shopping everywhere, wifi functions really well - and the overall atmosphere is very artistic and warm. Couldn't have been better!
Thank you, Julie!!!!
My first ever airbnb experience was a success and I had a lovely time staying at Julie's house. I loved the bedroom, spacious and light, very private, warm and a comfortable bed. Great view out the window down to the market below. Excellent access to explore Portobello Market/Notting Hill and also close to a tube stop to explore the rest of London. Julie was very flexible with my arrival and departure times which was greatly appreciated. Great communication throughout. Would visit again, no worries.
I stayed with Julie for 5 weeks and she was very accommodating. It is very convenient to the tube and in a great location with lots to do and see and eat. I was very glad to be able to use her kitchen space to keep my food and cook as well as so that I wouldn't have to eat out all the time. There is only one bathroom and shower though it rarely posed a problem with the other guests and it was always very clean. Julie also worked with me to provide a better price considering the length of the stay which was also great. My room was clean and had lots of natural light.
Stayed at Julie´s for 3 weeks. Julie is a very friendly and easygoing host. My room was nice and bright. It can be a bit cold in the older houses in the winter but with the extra radiator I could keep the room warm. The two cats were very cute.
