The Space

Enjoy the best views in Santa Teresa .
The Sunset Reef Suite is one of four breathtaking ocean view villas all with ocean view decks.

This upstairs unit has panoramic ocean and surf views, a full kitchen w/new appliances, large bathroom w/hot water, 3 queen beds, A/C, wireless internet, safes for your valuables, ipod docks, ceiling fans, and plenty of privacy and space.

We're only a two minute drive or 15 minute walk up a hill from the beach, restaurants and markets, our only neighbor are the birds and monkeys. We're always more than happy to help you arrange your travel plans and any activities such as surf lessons, tortuga island boat trips, sportfishing trips, waterfall & wildlife hikes, jungle canopy tours, yoga classes, horseback riding and more.

Located on our own private hill top with no neighbors, away from the hustle and bustle make for a very relaxing stay. Still close enough to all the great verity of restaurants, surf shops, and always somewhere in town to be social.

  • Myself and Laura had a wonderful stay at the Surf Villa Vista. The house is beautiful, comfortable and clean with an amazing sun set.

During our stay there Andy assisted us with all of our inquiries. The house is also stocked with Surf Boards and ATV that you can rent from Andy at a price better than what you can find else where.

If we ever come back to Santa Teresa we will definitely stay at the surf villa..

  • My girlfriend and I spend 3 nights here and Crystal was our host. She was super nice and more than helpful. She gave us great recommendations on where to eat and coordinated an ATV rental for us. I would definitely recommend renting an ATV to explore the great beaches in the area. We didn't have to do anything but enjoy the property and the area. The property itself easy to find and it sits up on a hill. Once you get up the hill the views are amazing. Just sitting on the patio and watching the sunsets each evening made our whole stay. The beaches nearby are great and we loved the restaurants and night life. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to stay in Playa Santa Teresa.

  • My wife and I stayed at Andy's Villa in Santa Teresa. We reserved the Sunset Reef suite. I can say, without a doubt, this place so far exceeded my expectations that I'm without words! Andy's hospitality, along with Crystal, made this honeymoon the best way to begin our lives together! The sunsets were jaw-dropping. The views were simply amazing. The villa was very private and we had the best spot in Santa Teresa. Crystal helped to coordinate all of our travel and activities for the week. They were so kind to both my wife and I. We are so grateful for Andy and Crystal for such an amazing experience! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could! I've recommended this place to all of my friends and family. We've made it a goal to return for an anniversary trip sometime in the near future.

Thanks Andy! You guys are such good people!

  • My new husband and I had our honeymoon at Surf Villa Vista for 11 days. I must say this was the best vacation we have ever had. Andrew was very quick to respond to my questions and was very helpful recommending different ways to get to the Villa from San Jose. The hotel manager, Crystal was unbelievably nice and helpful with giving us amazing recommendations for places to eat and tours to take. The Surf Vista Villas was perfect. The views are incredible. I definitely recommend renting an ATV which we had done for 9 days. It was not only fun to drive, it was way more practical than renting a car (and cheaper). My husband and I will most definitely be coming back for vacation again and hopefully bringing some friends with us. I highly recommend staying here. The price was affordable and the people around the area are unbelievably nice and helpful. Thank you Andrew and Crystal for all your help. We will be back for sure! Our honeymoon was better than we could have hoped! Oh, and Crystal's dog, Vaca is the sweetest!

  • My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the Sunset Reef Villa and had a fantastic time. We didn't meet Andy because he was in California for the summer, but Juan was a great host. He gave us lots of recommendations of where to eat (how could you go wrong in Santa Teresa), and we enjoyed our conversations on the deck with him. The villa itself was really nice and clean. We loved having a kitchen and the views were outstanding. We also felt that this particular villa was probably the most private of the four, so if you're seeking that, definitely try for Sunset Reef. Santa Teresa is a really fascinating place. It's a great place to relax and take in the simple things in life. The whole experience made for a great honeymoon, and we look forward to coming back to Santa Teresa and Surf Vista Villas soon.

  • My 2 sisters and I stayed 3 nights at the Sunset Reef Suite at Surf Vista Villas. Getting to Santa Teresa is a bit of an adventure. You take the ferry from Puntarenas, which costs close to nothing. But the taxi to Santa Teresa costs $70 or more! And you're charged in dollars for the most part. The ride is about an hour. You can take the bus but it takes over 2 hours.

The suite itself is lovely. The only thing I didn't like was the huge, steep hill to get to the top. We rented an ATV the very next morning ($50/day) because we knew we couldn't make the climb everyday. Especially at night since it's not lit. Our suite's view was obstructed by huge palm trees so the view wasn't great. It was quite nice from the middle common area but not our room.

Only complaints about the room were that it rained and there were 2 drips which made the room very wet. We told the maintenance guy and he tried to fix it. There was also a mouse in our room that we figured out got in through the AC vent. The next day the maintenance guy tried to cover the AC vent. Don't know if he was successful.

The beds were very comfy and the water pressure was great. There were plenty of towels and kitchen utilities.

  • This is the best place to stay in Santa Teresa with the best views of the ocean. We didn't get the pleasure of meeting Andy but Juan (The concierge) took very good care of us. We highly recommend taking the waterfall tour and zip-line tour, which you can book through Juan. We rented an ATV for most of the time and walked the hill the last couple of days. The hill is very steep and was much easier with a quad, but doable on foot if you have the energy and time lol. Overall, great place to stay.

  • We stayed in the Sunset Reef unit for a few days over spring break. Everything was exactly as the beautiful photos depicted. I woke up the first morning to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys. Andrew and Dexter (very cool dog) stopped by to say hello and Andrew gave me some tips on where to dine in the area. My family had a great time exploring the surfer community. We'd stay here again. -Tim

  • Did I really have to leave the Surf Vista Villas?

Our stay there was great! Amazing views, a beautiful room (very clean), and Juan was great in helping point us to some good beach spots and such.

With a grill on the patio and hammocks throughout the deck to relax and enjoy the view from, the only time we weren't at the beach (or sleeping) we were looking at the waves roll in from our suite.

My girlfriend and I are already talking about how we'd like to make a trip back there yearly to unwind!

Oh -- and be sure to rent an ATV. Despite reading reviews before we went I was still surprised at just how far up the hill this place is. Definitely worth the extra money!
