The Space

We offer a cozy and private bedroom with a full size bed and private bath in a modernized Victorian home in the Village of Housatonic, Great Barrington. The bedroom is located immediately off a large foyer (plenty of room to drop off your winter gear) , and is completely private from the rest of the house. The full bathroom is also off the foyer and it is reserved for guests only. However, the kitchen is only a doorway away and is available for limited use. You can come and go without any worry of bothering us.
We, Terri and Diego, the hosts, will assist you with your plans and make every effort to make your stay effortless, We are minutes away from Kripalu, Tanglewood, Stockbridge, and the slopes of Butternut Ski. It is also a great area for art lovers, too, as Housatonic is known for its many galleries.
We are walking distance from the Housatonic River, Berkshire Mountain Bakery (top rated bakery by Bon Appetit Magazine), hiking trails, and the Brick House, one of the best pubs in the county. Parking and storage for ski and bike equipment is available, as well as Wi-Fi. Continental breakfast provided.
Hope to see you!!

  • Our hosts were very engaging and pleasant, and even helped refrigerate and store the watermelon we'd rescued from our kitchen. Diego has a map, a guide and some advice from experience for almost any outdoor activity you'd want to do. The room is in a private wing, with plantings making it very private even with the windows open for breezes. Very good coffee (so important when traveling!) and baked goods each morning from the local cafe. Lovely quiet side street in tiny Housatonic - out of the way yet close to everything the Berkshire's has to offer.

  • We had a nice time with Diego and Terri. They made us feel very comfortable and were accessible. The location was great, close to Tanglewood and bike trails. The room and bathroom were small but adequate. Overall a good experience.

  • Diego and his family were amazing hosts, and their cozy room was exactly as advertised. His home is very centrally located and my girlfriend and I were always 20 minutes or so from fun outdoor activities in every direction. We definitely recommend cross country skiing at Canterbury Farms, the burgers and pizza from the Brickhouse Pub and the chocolate sourdough bread from Berkshire Bakery.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Diego's place. Diego was very nice and helpful and gave us very good recommendations for places to go and eat at. The bedroom is quiet and comfortable, you really get your own privacy. We very much enjoyed skiing in the Berkshire Mountains, under the snow ;-) and Great Barrington is a charming city to visit. I highly recommend Diego's place.

  • The location was great, the room was clean and comfortable, and Diego was an incredibly thoughtful and generous host. We visited in the beginning of October, and the foliage couldn't be more beautiful. Highly recommended.

  • An excellent experience all the way. Diego and his family are delightful people who extended a gracious welcome to me from the beginning of the transaction. Communication was always prompt and helpful. Their home is charming and tidy. If you are planning to visit Tanglewood, it's only a 15 minute drive and you are away from the crowds in the village of Housatonic. By why wait for Tanglewood? There are lots of other places to visit in the region, including the nearby town of Great Barrington. Or you could stroll along the Housatonic River. There are some nice and inexpensive restaurants in Great Barrington and nearby. This would be a great place to visit in the Fall. A first-rate airbnb!

  • I stayed here for 10 nights while attending a Kripalu training. I loved the simple drive to Kripalu, I loved the private entrance to my room, and I loved how kind Diego and Terri were. I felt comfortable and safe in their home. Keep in mind that the bedroom and the bathroom are small. It was wonderful for just one person but when my significant other visited, the space got tight. The futon was too short to extend his legs and the bathroom sink was so tiny that he could barely wash his hands. Despite the small space, it was a nice experience and I would stay here again.

  • My husband and I were very grateful to be able to stay in this lovely home. We were attending a workshop at Kripalu, a ten minute drive away. The bed was comfy, the house was spotless. and we had lots of privacy. At night a train would go by, and we came to look forward to its arrival.

The bedroom and bathroom are small but certainly adequate. I would recommend staying here, especially if you just need a place to sleep and clean up.

  • Diego and Terri were wonderful, considerate hosts. The room was bright, the mattress comfortable, and the location was central to all the area attractions. This is a great place to stay to explore the area!

My wife, Terri, and I are originally from New York City. We moved to Housatonic, Great Barrington full time about six years ago. Terri is in the Health Care industry and I am an architect. We have a twelve year-old boy, two cats and love the area. We love the combination of the rural beauty and high cultural offerings that exist here, where great institutions like Tanglewood, Norman Rockwell Museum and many others, can thrive next to local artist's galleries and authentic small organic farms, farm markets, and Zagat rated restaurants. It's small town, with big city sophistication, great natural beauty and no over-development. We love helping our guests enjoy the area. Our home is bright, clean and welcoming, and we respect our hosts needs for privacy and/or assistance. In short, we will do our best to make your stay enjoyable and hassle-free. Best, Diego and Terri
