The Space

San Miguel de Allende ranked no. 1 in 2013 as best touristic city worlwide above Paris, San Sebastian, Santa Fe, Florence and Vienna. (by Condé Nast Traveler).

Come and stay in the calm area of Guadiana neighborhood in a house with catalan vaulted ceilings and a lovely terrace. This space with terrace measures 700 square feet (65m2) and is a separate from 2 other apartments in the same estate.
Has: one bedroom with queen size bed, living room, kitchen, bathroom and 1 parking space.

In Vero's house (my sister in law) you find a simple and beautiful space. You'll have what you really need, in this unpretentious and full of positive energy atmosphere. Hot water, refrigerator, basic utensils for cooking and serving are available. The different windows, large and small, always allow a view to the green.

Beds: 1 queen size bed in the bedroom. If you want more capacity there is 1 double air mattress, an armchair (a bit hard) and a hammock in the living room.

3 houses away is a tiny little neighborhood store (micelánea) where you can buy essential food and households and 4 blocks away is leafy Parque Juárez that can become your daily choice to go for a walk.

You can walk 9 blocks to the center of San Miguel or take the car in 2 minutes and you're at one of the public parking lots. A taxi charges 30 pesos to the center during the day and 40 at night.

Vero speaks English, German, Spanish and a little French. She has lived 17 years in San Miguel, first devoted mainly to folk art and today is dedicated to healing and is well known to local people.
She has a space in Cuernavaca now, a city where her aging parents live, so she spends much time there.
She does not have her own profile as she is not a person that uses much technological and social media, but she does use email and phone. Vero will be happy to welcome you and introduce you to the place and also to maintain contact before you arrive to help you organize a fabulous either long or short term stay.

My family and I had a spectacular New Year stay at her home and enjoying the public celebration in the center.

  • A great place to land in San Miguel! Vero's Casita is in a quiet, safe neighborhood within walking distance to the center of town. A locked gate offered additional security, which we liked. Vero's place has a beautiful garden and is a clean, basic space--perfect for a couple. We loved sitting in the garden in the late afternoons! Vero and Ana were very communicative and Vero helped us when our travel plans went awry. Staying here allows guests to experience more of the real San Miguel.

  • The casita was even more charming in real life than in the pictures and its location was ideal; we really enjoyed the short walk into town, yet just far enough from the city's center to remain quiet. Vero was a wonderful host and we were so glad to have had the chance to meet her. Thanks for making our stay in San Miguel very special!

  • Every time I think my AirBnB experience cannot get better, I am proven wrong! This is an utterly charming Casita-just 15 minutes stroll or $3.00 cab ride to the heart of downtown. The casita is simply furnished but with everything needed for a wonderful stay-comfortable bed, clean linen and simple but functional kitchen. We loved having breakfast on the shaded patio and relaxing in the indoor hammock provided by Ana and her sister-in-law, Veronika. As with most AirBnB encounters, the host makes all the difference-and Ana and Veronika were the warmest most communicative hosts we could hope for. They were prompt in responding and provided detailed information-especially when another host we had booked with failed to contact us. Although we did not get an opportunity to meet in person, we felt like welcomed guests to the casita. I hope this review does not cause the place to become booked-up, as we certainly hope to return to San Miguel and plan on staying right here! To Ana & Vero: Muchas Gracias!

  • This was a lovely place an worked out really well for us. The only problem we had was that no one was there when we got there to check in and we did not know how to get a key to get in.
We had to call and ask the lady who cleans the apartment to let us in. If it had not been for a family member who speaks fluent Spanish, we may not have been able to get in.
Once we were in it was very homey. It felt safe inviting and comfortable.

  • What a great little casita...right above the heart of San Miguel. The Casita is comfortable and in a great location. Part way down the hill is a great park and a little further you're in the heart of El Centro's cathedral, shopping, cafes/restaurants and art stalls and galleries. Is was a pleasure.

  • The casita was even more lovely than we could have hoped for. The Boveda cielings alone were amazing. Very wonderfully decorated. Breakfast or drinks in the courtyard were a special treat. San Miguel is not a cheap place, and this was a great value. It is located on the extension of Aldama,so make sure the taxi driver is aware of that,as there is another #29 on the main part of the street. San Miguel seems to have more pet dogs per capita than anywhere I know. Being a light sleeper, barking at night was sometimes bothersome. But I think that would be the same no matter where you stay in town. It is about a 15 min. walk to the center, maybe 20 back. But a very lovely walk it is. Highly recommended

  • My friend, Yasmine, and I had a wonderful stay at this lovely and charming Casita. The location is quite good; it's a 10-15 minute walk to the very center of town. We very much enjoyed meeting and getting to know the host, Veronika, who was living elsewhere. Veronika went out of her way to make sure that everything was perfect for us. Hasta luego, Veronika!

  • Vero's peaceful casita was the perfect haven that I was seeking in San Miguel. The casita had everything that I required and more... It was bathed in natural light and had a beautiful private plant-filled courtyard complete with birdsong. It really felt like home.

My contact with both Ana and Vero leading up to my stay was a pleasure - so efficient and friendly. Meeting Vero was a treat. Whilst respectful of my privacy she made many useful recommendations for my stay in San Miguel and we shared a lovely meal out together with wonderful rich conversation. Vero was very happy to assist with me any queries that I had with her local knowledge.

I highly recommend this casita to anyone seeking exactly what it describes, a "peaceful casita right in San Miguel". Wonderful value for money! Mil gracias!

  • We had a wonderful week-end in Sn Miguel and in Ana's charm full colonial style "casita". We enjoyed the the blue sky and the tranquility relaxing on the terrace. The kitchen was great as we could prepare meals with nice food we bought at the local market.
We felt very welcome in Ana's casita, it is clean and it had everything we needed to feel at home in this beautiful town.

Hi, I am Ana. For many years we have hosted friends, and friends of friends we did not know before. It has always been a pleasure and it has enriched our opinions, knowledge and general culture. Now we are trying out Airbnb starting may 2013, so we don´t have any evaluations jet :-) I was born in Mexico and had a bicultural german-mexican education and I have had the chance to live/travel through different countries.I know what it feels like to stay at someone else´s home and the needs a traveler has. We are an easy going enthusiastic and entrepreneurial couple forming a family with our 2 beautiful daughters, our cat and Rosalba who helps us as a nanny and with household. We work hard but also enjoy a cup of wine in the evening, a nice chat and maybe to watch a TED Talk or two. Taking days or weeks off to visit remote places has always moved us. We can give orientation on unspoiled nature, local communities and magical corners around Mexico and Latin America. We are hoping to soon receive our first interesting and kind guests :-) !
