Pets: We have a cat named Sirleaf. Sometimes we foster very young kittens for one of the local shelters that we volunteer.

  • Thanks! Alma was a very nice lady, suggesting us many good places to go and eat. They have a cute white cat. The room was clean and comfy!

  • Wonderful experience. Hostess was extremely welcoming and accommodating.

  • Had a great stay here. Its close to all the sights and you have the added bonus of being only a few minutes away from Ginos and Pats Philly Steaks.

  • Very very spacious room in a nice neighbourhood! Convenient location with the bus stop to downtown just down the street. The best cheese steak in philly is just around the block and they open 24 hrs! Alma was very friendly and helpful with tips only a local would know. Thanks again!

  • The host was very nice, and the room and bathroom was clean. We had two double beds which were comfortable plus the room has a TV with good channels.
We had a few issues with the location, it is about an half hour walk to the main area in Philadelphia and the neighborhood is pretty rough. We didn't feel safe walking around the area at night and other than eat a cheese steak there is very little nearby.

  • My boyfriend and I decided to take a short trip to Philly for 4th of July weekend very last minute, but Alma was so accommodating and made the whole trip very easy for us. Her house is cozy and right by the Italian Market area, and Center City is a nice walk away as well. She gave us lots of recommendations for things to do in the city and always made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks Alma!

  • Alma saved our trip by replying immediately to a very short-notice inquiry. Her info on how to get to the address, her warm welcome and her kind hospitality were very much appreciated, it was a pleasure to stay with her! The room is nice, the location is great - a few blocks south of South Street (many exciting shops, bars, restaurants in this area), close to the Magic Gardens, a 25-min walk to Center City (there is also the 47 bus which goes downtown) and slightly longer if you make a highly recommended detour to Society Hill (ask Alma for the nice spots!). Overall, great accommodation in a very interesting and also perfectly safe neighbourhood that you would miss if you stayed somewhere downtown.

  • Nice place to stay. The room was fine and the hospitality great. We never felt weird about anything. The location is so and so but it's still cheaper to stay here and get cabs to/from the city center than renting something in the city center. Totally recommend the place.

    Response from A And A:

We are very close to the center of the city, 1.3 miles to Liberty Bell, 25 min walking or a 7 min cab ride, or 15 min bus ride. the area is called Italian Market and we consider it safe. It is better area than many other parts of the city but the city offers many really nice areas that are close by and you will be walking through them when you go to see the touristic attractions.

The picture is of my daughter and I. She currently lives at college. About our home: It is situated in Italian market neighborhood and the start of South Philadelphia with boundaries to Center City. It is a safe and quiet neighborhood; parking is free and unlimited in time, you do not have to move your car. Public transportation is almost at the door on each corner of the block. Philadelphia is a walking city and this location allows to do a lot of sightseeing without needing public transportation, the distance to Liberty Bell is 1.2 miles, or a 25 minutes walk. It is a neighborhood with many places to eat, including the famous Philadelphia Cheese steaks, Pat and Geno's, open 24 hours a day and just a 2 minutes walk from the house. i can guide you in the right direction, give you advice on things to do and see, and help you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We want you to know a cat lives in the home. Some people are allergic to cats, so be prepared aware.
