March through May is the lambing season. Great views and walks!
Our B&B en-suite has been so popular we have decided to add a self-catering Boutique apartment accommodation. So now you can stay on the sheep farm, in a private one bedroom flat.
The flat includes bedroom, with double bed, bathroom with shower, living room/ kitchen. The sitting room also has a fold out sofa/bed that will sleep two. Entrance is private, and off the deck. The sitting room allows views of the surrounding fields with sheep grazing below.
Spend an evening on the deck and bar-b-que some local beef or fish. On a clear night the stars are spectacular. If it is raining, then light the fire in the solid fuel stove in the living room. The apartment has a flat screen TV (Irish channels) and WiFi. Parking is at the rear of the house just beside the stairs to the deck.
Laundry facilities are not on site, but are there are two service laundries in Dingle.
Dingle Town is about 3 1/2 miles from our front door. We are located just off the Slea Head Drive, possibly one of the most scenic drives in Ireland. In Dingle you will find shopping, dining and pubs. Dingle is a harbor village with a bustling night life. It is nice to be close to Town, but also nice to have the peaceful quite nights on the farm. Take a harbor boat ride out to meet Fungie, Dingle's resident dolphin. He has made Dingle his home for over 30 years now. You have a chance of getting up close and personal with him if you book a kayak. Horseback riding, hiking the Dingle Way, and clean beaches are all just minutes away.
Meanwhile, down on the farm . . . March through May is the lambing season, and so very busy on the farm. You can participate as much as you like. You may be able to assist with lambing, or bottle feed a lamb. Pregnant women are not recommended to come into contact with newly born lambs. The fields of our farm are yours for the roaming. For 25 Euro we will take you on a guided half day sojourn up to the top of the cliff, where you can look down over Conor Pass to Tralee Bay. We have spare wellies and farm coats on hand, so you don't have to dirty your own clothes should you be out on the farm.
We hope to see you soon in Glin South Dingle Co. Kerry.
Roam the hills and fields.
March through June are lambing time. If you wish you can assist with the sheep.
Close to Dingle Town, but far enough out to be peaceful and quiet.
Three and a half miles from Dingle, Co. Kerry. You can ride a bike there.
Lambing season on the farm is March through June/July. All kinds of festivals and activities in Dingle most the year. Hiking, biking, horse back riding, kayaking all near at hand.
The reservation was canceled 189 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My wife and I could only stay with Janet for a short time. Janet and her family made us feel welcome and provided us with helpful information and an amazing breakfast. The location is about a 10 minute drive from downtown and is a truly rustic setting. I think this would be a great location to just relax for a few days with the occasional trip to town.
Gracious hosts, lovely breakfast...warm and hospitable. We loved our stay. Seamus gave us a great morning walk through the paddocks to check on the sheep, and shared some of the history of this area answering our many questions. Janet with her musical and artistic background was great in sharing the Dingle history and shared enthusiasm and help in our planning. We will come again one day!! Thank you for your warmth and hospitality!
Staying at the sheep farm was a wonderful experience! Janet and Seamus were great hosts and made my friend and I feel at home. The breakfast was freshly prepared each morning and served in a beautiful sun room looking out onto the farm. The bedroom was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. There was also original artwork and woodwork throughout the house that added to the experience. We were able to go out on a walk through the fields to feed the sheep with Seamus and Floss (the border collie). We thoroughly enjoyed this walk and Seamus giving us a little insight into sheep farming! Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
Jan and Seamus were very nice and friendly. Their home was beautiful, warm and comfortable. We walked through the fields with the sheep, explored the land a tiny bit before heading into town for a bite to each and some music. Jan gave us some great ideas as to where to go in town and she was right on. Our room was very clean and comfortable, beautiful views out our window. In the morning Jan cooked us a delicious breakfast and served us out in the sunroom, with music playing and views of sheep and ducks we enjoyed every moment. Unfortunately we had to get moving early and didn't get to enjoy more of the farm, but hopefully one day we shall return.
Janet and Seamus were so wonderful - from the fantastic Irish breakfast, to the beautiful and very clean room - we appreciated all the details and their friendly hospitality. We loved walking around the farm in the morning and greatly enjoyed all there was to do around Dingle - we will definitely stay with them again if we return to the area!
My father and I stayed with Jan and Seamus for one night. Their home is absolutely beautiful. Warm, cozy, and the bed was so comfortable! I recommend anyone visiting Dingle to stay with Jan and Seamus.
The sheepfarm was an absolute delight. I went for a walk with Seamus in the morning to do the rounds with all of the sheep. We walked around the mountainside for over an hour, it was a great peaceful experience.
I plan to come back here and stay with Jan and Seamus next year. The breakfast the next morning was delicious!
Thanks Jan and Seamus!
Marvelous place, very quiet and with magnificient view of the surrounding landscape , the room was perfect and the breakfast so good ! We really enjoy staying with Janet and feeding the sheep and ducks in the morning before our visit of the day !
My husband and I stayed at Janet and Seamus' sheep farm for two nights and LOVED it! Seamus, very kindly showed us around his farm, so we had a lovely walk in the morning, Janet cooked a great brekkie each morning. We were only 5 km's out of Dingle, but it was so peaceful and beautiful. The room was great and the hosts were lovely. Recommend to anyone! Thank you both for a lovely stay.
Somewhere we'll definitely visit again next time we're in Ireland! Jan and Seamus were very nice (even took us to town for a pint and some fish pie!) and even made sure we were out early enough in the morning to make it back to Dublin in time for our early afternoon flight! They let us feed the sheep and guard ducks (:-)) and if we'd had more time they would've shown us how they walk the animals up the mountain to graze in the mornings... My only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer...
