Stay on a working sheep farm in a private accommodation.

The flat includes bedroom, with double bed, bathroom with shower, living room/ kitchen. The sitting room also has a fold out sofa/bed that will sleep two. Entrance is private, and off the deck. The sitting room allows views of the surrounding fields with sheep grazing below.

Spend an evening on the deck and bar-b-que some local beef or fish. On a clear night the stars are spectacular. If it is raining, then light the fire in the solid fuel stove in the living room. The apartment has a flat screen TV (Irish channels) and WiFi. Parking is at the rear of the house just beside the stairs to the deck.

Laundry facilities are not on site, but are there are two service laundries in Dingle.

Dingle Town is about 3 1/2 miles from our front door. We are located just off the Slea Head Drive, possibly one of the most scenic drives in Ireland. In Dingle you will find shopping, dining and pubs. Dingle is a harbor village with a bustling night life. It is nice to be close to Town, but also nice to have the peaceful quite nights on the farm. Take a harbor boat ride out to meet Fungie, Dingle's resident dolphin. He has made Dingle his home for over 30 years now. You have a chance of getting up close and personal with him if you book a kayak. Horseback riding, hiking the Dingle Way, and clean beaches are all just minutes away.

Meanwhile, down on the farm . . . March through May is the lambing season, and so very busy on the farm. You can participate as much as you like. You may be able to assist with lambing, or bottle feed a lamb. Pregnant women are not recommended to come into contact with newly born lambs. The fields of our farm are yours for the roaming. We have spare wellies and farm coats on hand, so you don't have to dirty your own clothes, should you be out on the farm.

Note: The house is brown with a blue door. It is the only brown house with a blue door on this lane.
Please - No small children under the age of seven.
We are farmers, so we are early to bed and early to rise. The apartment is directly over our bedroom, so if you life style means you don't know night from day, then booking our accommodation, might not be suitable.
We hope to see you soon in Glin South Dingle Co. Kerry.
Pricing is based on two people sharing, additional people can be accommodated at an addition fee.

What a great stay in Dingle! Just a few miles drive from town, this is a great opportunity to live like a locale for a few days. We loved waking up every morning to see sheep right outside the door & the beautiful countryside. It was very clean & well appointed; the bed was comfy with very soft sheets. You need to take off your shoes inside as I presume since the walls are pretty thin, it's too loud with shoes on. No problem for the germaphobe in me! Enjoyed hanging out & feeding the sheep with Seamus...how many times can you say that on a trip?! As mentioned, you'll want to go to bed early so you can wake early. Don't buy bottled water here; the tap water is from a nearby well & the best/purest water I've ever had. We only wish the weather had cooperated a bit more for us as we couldn't really see the I'm sure amazing views on Slea Head. Heavy fog from a tropical storm. Overall, highly recommend staying here.

Janet and Seamus have a lovely apartment, filled with wood and light and delightful views of the surrounding valley and sheep fields. Feeding the sheep, watching the sheep dogs in action, and learning about life in Ireland from Seamus were highlights of our trip, especially for our children (pre-teen and teen). Both Janet and Seamus provided helpful recommendations about where to eat (and park in town) as well as things to do. The apartment is minutes from Slea Head Drive, an experience not to be missed! We went around 6pm, to catch the evening light and miss the tour buses; but if you want to go to Blasket Centre, you'll need to leave earlier as they closed around 5pm. Lots of nice walks ans several accessible beaches along the drive.

Our stay there was a true highlight of our trip. Both Seamus and Janet were so welcoming and gave us great advice about what to see and where to go into the Dingle area.

Janet and Seamus's place is absolutely perfect. It is spacious for two, has a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom, and is only a few minutes down the road from Dingle. Janet took us to bottle feed the lambs before checkout- a highly recommended experience. We enjoyed having a quiet place to relax in after a busy day in dingle. We visited during high tourist season but had no problem finding parking in Dingle in the evening when visiting the pubs. If you like the pictures, you will definitely enjoy Janet and Seamus's place. The pictures don't quite do it justice.

Response from Janet And Seamus:
In four years of hosting, no group of 4 have ever complained of lack of space. But now, a group of two complains about, if they were a group of four? In four years all reviews overwhelmingly good. There's always one person who will complain, and this one chose to complain about something that didn't even effect her. Some people just look for things to displease them. She had to look pretty far.

When you picture the beauty of the Irish countryside in your mind, this place is what it would look like. The place is a little bit outside of Dingle, so you'll need a vehicle to get to and from town, but you could not choose a better place. Janet and Seamus were nice, but unobtrusive. They also took us into their field to pet and feed their sheep, which adds so much to the experience. We highly recommend you stay here. It's a great jumping off spot for the peninsula or a great place to sit outside with a book and relax.
