About this listing
Seeking a relaxing and quiet spot to unwind, yet is minutes from all the excitement of Pittsburgh? Then go no further. Allow me to host you for a stay at my home, located less than 10 minutes to downtown Pittsburgh, the stadiums and other attractions
Before entering the home, you will be impressed by the charm of this 1920s corner lot build on my quiet street. Its large front porch is perfect for having your morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine later in the day (or any time for that matter). In warmer months, open the side windows and feel a nice summer pass thorough. The house faces north, so it's never too sunny or hot!
Step into the house and you are in the family room. Here and throughout other areas of the home, old meets new. Relax on the white leather sectional. The enclosed built-ins are filled with antiques and board games.
From the family room, you pass through French doors into the dining room. The detail in this room is amazing. From wood beams on the ceiling to the textured wall paper, and framed blueprints of the home, there is lots to see.
Off the dining room is the more recently remodeled kitchen. If I am home, you may use the kitchen to heat meals etc., but the kitchen will not be available for preparing elaborate meals. Feel free to use the Keurig for coffee or tea, too. From here, you may go into the basement or pass through to the television/sun room. The basement has a Pittsburgh toilet (look it up if you're not familiar with), which you're more than welcome to use and is also connected to the garage.
The sun room is my favorite room of the house. It's hard to explain why I love it so much, aside from its coziness and great view overlooking the backyard.
Let's talk about the upstairs of the home, shall we?
To get upstairs, you'll need to go back to the front entrance. Immediately to the left of the family room is the staircase and foyer area. Please remove your shoes here. Before going upstairs, you'll notice something unique. "What's that?", you will say. This, my friends, is a 1903 NCR cash register. It's something that's been in the family for many, many years and I'm happy to tell you stories about it.
At the landing of the staircase you'll find the main bathroom. I love the bathroom! Blue and white tile from floor to ceiling. Yep! The tub is huge, too.
There are three bedrooms on the top floor, one which I use as my office, the other my bedroom (the room overlooking the front of the house). Now, let's talk about your room.
The following are included with your stay: comfortable queen bed with clean mattress, pillows, sheets (flannel in winter), comforter, central air-conditioning, towels, and wash cloths.
I recently completed the addition of a huge 24'x14' deck in the rear of the house. It's a perfect spot to relax!
I also frequently dine out and are more than happy to share restaurant/bar suggestions with you. If you didn't already know, Pittsburgh has wonderful restaurants and bars.
Free and fast Wi-Fi internet (Comcast). Laundry facilities are available for an additional charge of $1 per load.

Interaction with Guests
I am in my late 20s and work for Thermo Fisher Scientific as a business analyst. I have lived in the house since July 2013.
Observatory Hill, a neighborhood that offers something for everyone.
Observatory Hill, located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, boasts a tight-knit community, stately homes, a business district, historic Riverview Park, and the Allegheny Observatory. Beautiful mansions dating back to the 1800s line the streets and have been restored to their original splendor. The quaint business district also shows signs of restoration. The residents are proud of their community and have worked together to improve and restore their neighborhood.
Ample street parking is available. No permit required to park like many neighborhoods in the city.
The house is located less than 10 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. It is also located less than 10 minutes to the Andy Warhol Museum, River's Casino, Mattress Factory, Heinz Field, and PNC Park.
The house is located 20-30 minutes from the airport depending on traffic and time of day.

Although Jonathan was out out town during our stay he communicated everything we needed to know promptly. The house was in a great neighborhood and was in beautiful condition. Everything was clean and well maintained. Our bedroom was spacious and the bed comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying with Jonathan.
I really enjoyed my stay with Jonathan. The first thing I noticed was how impeccably decorated his home was. His home is an amazing Craftsman style home and there are beautiful decorative features found throughout the home. The second thing that is overwhelmingly apparent is the cleanliness. I know his place gets a fair amount of traffic, but you would never know it. Jonathan as a host was warm, helpful, and very welcoming. The location was convenient to the highways and downtown. I highly recommend staying with Jonathan!
Jonathan set the bar for AirBnB. The great location, immaculate room and wonderful hospitality made our experience exceptional. If we ever come back to the 'Burgh, we know where we want to stay!
Jonathan could not have been a better host. My experience in Pittsburgh could not have been better. Jonathan's home is beautiful and he went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. I would gladly stay there again while visiting Pittsburgh if given the opportunity. Highest recommendations!
Great room, super spacious. Comfy bed, bathroom outside the door.
Pretty much a perfect experience.
Beautiful house at a great location, no more than a 10 minute drive away from downtown Pittsburgh. The room is nice, clean, and very cozy. Having a look around the house was like touring a mini museum, the house is decorated with interesting artworks and items. The chairs and sofas are very comfortable, I tested all of them personally.
Jonathan is the most gracious host, he readily accommodated my obscurely unreasonable arrival and departure times, and even gave me a ride to the train station upon my departure early in the morning. He is very friendly and I felt very at home during my short stay. My only regret is that I could not stay longer.
Jonathan is a first rate host. His deft touch made my quick business trip to Pittsburgh feel like a vacation. Guests are not relegated to the rented room. From the back porch to the den, I felt at home. His spotless house was cozy without being quaint. It's a distinct brand of Arts and Crafts minimalism that I think Jonathan can call his own.

About the Host, Jonathan
Hi. I'm Jonathan. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my listing. If you're like me when traveling, you're looking for a unique, clean, and inexpensive property to rest your feet during your travels. Go no further, because you've found the place!
I've lived in Pittsburgh for almost 10 years, so I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the city's history, restaurant options, neighborhood offers, and so forth. Know that I'm here to assist you in any capacity prior or during your travels.
There are plenty of unique Airbnb properties in Pittsburgh. That said, I never take a reservation for granted. Not only are you allowing me to share my home with you in a wonderful city, but you are helping me to afford the sometimes very costly utility bills that it takes to keep the property running.
I greatly appreciate your business, time, and support. I look forward to meeting you soon!
