We just got back from our trip to Culebra and we had a wonderful time at Jean Claude and Ginette's place. The house was spacious, comfortable and clean. If we weren't at the beach we spent most of our time relaxing on the deck. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need: from making coffee, to utensils for cutting and frying plantains! They even have a variety of coolers so we could bring snacks and drinks to the amazing beaches.
The house is centrally located, so it was really easy to get into town, get to restaurants and have a handful of gorgeous beaches minutes away. We loved our time there and cannot wait to go back!
We had a great time at the house during our vacation on Culebra. The house is so easy to find driving from the airport. It's very spacious and the kitchen has everything you need to enjoy a meal with your friends. We truly felt at home staying there!
We had a great experience staying here- very helpful and reachable hosts at every stage of our stay. Thank you!
The arrival was impeccable, place was very clean. Maria, the house manager, was able to resolve any issue quickly and efficiently.
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Alta, and overall would recommend it to others, but prospective guests need to make sure their expectations correspond to the quality level of this accommodation. Pluses: a spacious apartment with a large veranda with hammocks + nicely appointed kitchen + clean bathroom + great parking space below house for those renting vehicle. Minuses: the entire property has a "70s" (dare I say outdated) feel to it, and in my opinion will need to be updated some time in the near future. Also, this property is not for those who sleep lightly due to the cacophony at all hours of day and night caused by a flock of roosters that haunt the house's yard and immediate surroundings.
Husband and I stayed in Casa Alta from (phone number hidden) and had a fantastic time! Ginette and Jean Claude went over and beyond in terms of communication both about the house and the island of Culebra. The only negative was I didn't get to meet our hosts in person. They wrote up a great welcome guide that was on the coffee table when we arrived that was extremely helpful in terms of getting us settled in. The house was spacious and clean when we arrived with TV with satellite, WiFi, full kitchen with dining-ware,towels and a extra set of linens if needed. We went to Milka's and stocked up on the essentials we would need as we were staying for an extended period of time. The neighborhood was great! Nice mix of locals and vacation rentals. Everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome!
My favorite part of the house was the super large porch with two hammocks, which are awesome for reading and relaxing.Hose was the MVP of the trip as it was great to be able to rinse the sand from feet and snorkeling gear after days on the beach. We would definitely stay at Casa Alta again in the future.
I am president of a company organizing road running events as well as cycling events and Ginette has a company specialized in hand lettering and graphic design. She also does contractual work in sales and marketing. We discovered Culebra over 25 years ago and have been going back ever since.
