The space

Casa Alta is a spacious house in the rural Villa Muneco area offering you full comfort. It has a 35-ft balcony where you can enjoy the scenery and the constant breeze. You can prepare a BBQ meal or relax in the hammocks reading or watching hummingbirds sip sugared water from the feeders. The house is about a 5 minute drive from beautiful Flamenco beach and close to downtown. The large and private lot is surrounded by mature trees in which you might spot a few iguanas chilling on the branches taking in the sun.

The inside has high ceilings with fans in the living/dining/kitchen open area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to feel at home, the huge master bedroom has a king size bed and the guest bedroom has a queen size bed. Both rooms have ceiling fans and air-conditioning. There is also a queen sofabed in the living room. The house offers high speed internet and is equipped with sound system, and satelliteTV. A very comfortable rental property for couples or a small family.

Location
The island of Culebra lies approximately 17 miles east of Puerto Rico, 12 miles west of St. Thomas. Its dimensions are 7 miles long (11km) and 3 1/2 miles wide (5km) . Our house is centrally located close to beaches and downtown. Very affordable taxis and publicos are available to drive you around or you can rent a jeep, golf cart, or bicycles (if you are in good physical shape)..and the weather is usually perfect!

CASA ALTA RENTING TERMS & CONDITIONS
Responsibility of person making the reservation
The person making the reservation (referred to as “Guest”) with us is responsible to read and understand these Terms and Conditions. By making a reservation with us the person making the reservation is agreeing to all these Terms and Conditions for themselves and all others that may be staying in our house.

Check in Time
Check in time is 4 pm of the arrival day, and check-out is at 11 am of the departure day. Early arrival or failure to depart at the agreed upon time could result in an extra days rent. Any special request can be made in writing to owner prior to occupancy.

Purpose
Guest agrees to use and occupy the rental property for short-term vacation purposes only. Guest may not use the rental property for any other purpose without prior written consent of Owner. Guest agrees to refrain from using the rental property for any unlawful purpose or any purpose deemed hazardous.

Occupancy Limits
Casa Alta has a maximum occupancy of 6 persons. The person making the reservation and agreeing to these terms and conditions must be 21 years of age or older and must be one of the occupants. Failure to comply with this requirement is grounds for immediate eviction and forfeiture of rents and deposits. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the unit, property, grounds, etc...

Pets and Animals
This agreement does not allow for the presence of pets or animals and the presence of such is grounds for immediate eviction and forfeiture of all rents and deposits, plus any amount to recover cleaning and damage as a result of the presence of said pets or animals.

Fire Hazard and Smoking
There are some periods during the year where Culebra has a very dry climate. During these periods of the year it is very important to be careful with fire hazards. At all times, please be very careful with disposal of cigarettes, the use of barbeque grills, and all other potential fire hazards. If you smoke, we would ask that you smoke outside the house and properly dispose of your "butts" in a secure way to prevent littering and fires.

Inspection of Property
Guest will immediately upon taking occupancy make an inspection of the property with our house manager and report any damage, breakage, malfunction, or other problem on the property.

Quiet Hours
Quiet Hours are from 10pm to 8am. Please be considerate of your neighbors at all times. Never play music, cause noise, or otherwise interrupt the tranquility and rest of your neighbhors and other guests. Note that Culebra does have a population of wild roosters, iguanas, deer, horses, wild boar, dogs, cats, birds, etc. It is probable that you will hear roosters during your stay in Culebra.

Damages
Guest agrees to properly use and operate all furnishings, appliances, plumbing fixtures, electronics, fireplaces, and other equipment available on the rental property. Guest agrees to return the rental property to the condition it was at the commencement of the rental term. Guest is responsible for breakage and repairs of any kind to the rental property during the rental term. The house manger will inspect the property before guest depart and can demand immediate reimbursement of damages voluntarily administered due to negligence.

Right of Entry
The house manager reserves the right to enter the rental property at all reasonable hours for the purpose of inspecting the property and ensuring occupancy limits. The house manager may also enter in the case of emergency or for the purpose of making such repairs of alterations as may be necessary for its safety or preservation.

Responsibility
The Agent, Owner, and all other's related to the Agent, Owner, it's affiliated companies, suppliers, vendors, employees, or any other people or entities otherwise associated with the rental property assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury to any person or personal property during your rental. This includes losses, damage or injury due to acts of God, theft, utility outages, services rendered by others, or services involving transportation. The agent and the Owner of the property assume no responsibility for any additional expenses incurred due to any aforementioned occurrences or conditions. Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Owner from any loss, liability, damage or cost incurred due to Guest's occupancy.

Assignment and Sublease
Guest may not assign this Agreement or sublet the rental property or any portion thereof without prior written consent of the Agent. Only those guests who are explicitly stated on this agreement are allowed to be (EMAIL HIDDEN)pliance with Law
Guest agrees to comply with all statutes, ordinances, and requirements of all municipal, state, and federal authorities.

No Waiver
Failure of Owner to insist on the strict compliance of the terms and conditions of this Agreement shall not constitute or be construed as a waiver or relinquishment of Owner's right to enforce any such term or condition.

Termination
This Agreement may be terminated by Owner in the event of breach by Guest of any portion of this Agreement. In the case of termination, the house manager may, to the extent permitted by law, re-enter the rental property.

By accepting to occupy the property, guest agrees they have read, understand and agrees to adhere to all terms as a condition of use and the use by family, guests, and invitees.

If you are looking to just sleep at this place, the bedrooms have air conditioning, but the rest of the house is just too hot. Ceiling fans did not help cool the place down.

We enjoyed the porch of the house. The beds were great but the pull out couch def needs some getting used to. Other than that we had enough water for everybody. The ac in the room worked well. We were hoping they would reach the living room for the evening since someone slept on the pull out couch so maybe a small fan in the living room would be great! Culebra has a lot to offer and we had an amazing time here. We enjoyed a different beach every day and had wonderful food. The groceries had good options and this place had a large fridge and we made some great meals here as well. The living room has many couches for everyone to relax and watch some tv in the evening and hang out.

This unit is all about location and value! A 5 minute walk to the airport, it is about as central a location as possible on the island. We were a 5-10 minute golf cart ride from town, flamenco, and the east coast and zoni. Although the house is located on the road, you feel like you are in a secluded rainforest because of the trees and plants in the yard. The porch is amazing for relaxing at night after a long day in the sand! Overall a fantastic spot, and my family and I look forward to returning!

Great house in a residential neighborhood. Quiet at night but in the middle of the island so short drive to everywhere. I would recommend to rent a golf cart or a jeep though as it's not walkable to any places. Great host and helped us to work through many questions and give us local guide. The house has a good feeling of a real home feeling instead of some places that is simply intended to be use as a rental. It has everything you need to live comfortably. Love the deck and birds/chickens/cats/dogs/pigs you can see around the neighborhood.

Exactly as posted. We had a great time in Culebra. One note is that its not walkable to the beaches you need to rent a form of transportation to get to and from the different spots on the island. We went with golf carts which was a great time.

My friends and I enjoyed the house very much. The rooms were clean, beautiful and cozy. We loved the porch and the hammocks were a fantastic hang out for us. Even though it wasn't centrally located we were able to get around as taxis were easily available. No need to worry if you are going to the beach, there were plenty of towels, which was great! The owners were very helpful and available to answer any questions at all times. We fell in love with Culebra and it's people, they were nice and friendly.
