The space is set up to be totally private, there is a separate entrance, though it's seldom used. A perk I didn't realize would come with my airbnb guests is: Most of you are very sociable and willing to share stories of your lives and the amazing places you've been. I'm totally blown away with my guests. Your mini fridge is stocked with snacks, I always include fruit, a cheese sampler and a complimentary bottle of wine. There are crackers and coffee and tea and you're welcome to use the kitchen if you'd like The outside garden is the perfect place for breakfast with many squirrels and birds for company. There is a side entrance for your use if you prefer privacy. I try to make your stay here as close to perfection as possible.
There is a washer and dryer and a lovely living room w/ fireplace to use, there's also a large park across the street for walking a small dog if you travel with your pet. The park has two tennis courts, a lake, Little League Baseball games, and an oval track for running laps and is about 100 yards from your front door. There is also a community pool which is seldom used but nicely maintained about 400' from your door.
Interaction with Guests
You may use this vacation spot in total privacy, it's set up to be self contained, however you may enjoy the entire downstairs as almost entirely yours as I have a full apt. upstairs where I spend the majority of my time, you will see me on the computer upstairs in the open loft or in the kitchen where you're welcome to join in, but 99% of the time the downstairs is yours to enjoy. I've enjoyed some amazing meals with my guests, so it's up to you how much socializing you want.
We are 2 minutes from Dale Mabry, one of Tampa's main streets. Many restaurants and stores line this avenue and we are minutes away from the airport and International Mall, one of Florida"s high end malls. Wonderful shopping and restaurants. 10 minutes from Busch Gardens and the Interstate to take you to other Florida attractions. 10 minutes to downtown or 15 to 20 min. during rush hour
There is a bus stop at the corner of Busch and Armenia, though a car comes in handy. If you are using this for a stay in vacation and only occasionally need to get to the store or a restaurant , we will be glad to take you.
Other Things to Note
We have cats and I wouldn't recommend anyone with allergies booking this. The cats don't come in your room, but may wonder through the garden though they are skittish around people and probably won't be in the garden during your visit. I am obsessively clean, feed them upstairs, their litter box is also located upstairs behind closed doors in a bathroom with an air ventilator and maniacally maintained.
Only rule is no smoking please, even outside as the smoke wafts through the upstairs window. Actually there are two rules: You are not allowed to be uncomfortable so please voice your concerns.
I am a return visitor to Lynne's place because I love the space and find her just so energetic and delightful. Returning here after a year away was like coming home. And the space has the best bathroom mirror I have ever seen. Lynne provide wonderful snacks, the room is so cozy and quiet. Wish there was a space like this in every city I travel to.
Wow! Lynne made my first Airbnb experience easy, comfortable, and amazing. Just as I had read online, the fridge in my room was stocked with snacks (including 5 kinds of cheese), there were toiletries, and my room opened onto a lush porch filled with flowers and birds. (When I ate breakfast out there, a couple of cardinals always kept me company.) I also enjoyed hanging my clothes in the large walk-in closet, making my own coffee (money-saver!), watching movies on HBO, and reading tales of 1930s Florida from the WPA survey of the state before falling asleep.
I had long hours at my conference, but Lynne assured me on the first day that it would be fine to leave early and come home late, and she meant it. I never felt like I was imposing when I used the key she gave me to pop in and out.
The only reason I can imagine anyone not wanting to stay here is that the backyard is rather near a road, so if you're a light sleeper I can imagine the road sounds perhaps keeping you awake. I didn't have a problem (and it's not like a major highway or anything).
I'm ready to dive into more Airbnb places in the future, but I kind of suspect nothing else will top this one.
One of the kindest individuals you have ever met. Lynn was very personable and has a beautiful setup. There is private access to the room through her wonderfully cultivated garden as well as front door access through the main home. She provides everything she states and my lord does she make a good omelet! Her home is very inviting and the provided bed welcomes you like your favorite pillow; you will knock out in moments and feel refreshed come morning. Highly recommended!!
Wow! We were so happy we chose to stay here, rather than a hotel. Lynne goes out of her way to accommodate her guests. Readers can read other reviews for additional information on the place, as I would rather focus on the host:) She is quite a character in the most pleasing sense. She has a great sense of humor and is very loving. We would not hesitate to go back, as it would seem like visiting a friend. Thank you Lynne!!
My son had a wonderful stay and he remarked on what a great lady Lynne was towards him. He'd definitely go back and I'd love to stay and meet her in the future.
My husband and I spent two nights at this property and very much enjoyed the lovely accommodations, as well as the company of our sweet and gracious host, Miss Lynne! The room is set at the back of the house and comes with enough closet and bathroom space to please even the most excessive over-packer. Every inch was clean and tidy, and handwritten notes were in place to let us know all we needed about the TV, the WiFi, and the fact that we were welcome to help ourselves to anything in the kitchen. Not much need for that, however, as the room's mini-fridge was well stocked with fruit and cheese — a very nice treat to partake of after our first late night out. French doors at the end of the very soft bed open onto the backyard where squirrels and birds seemed always in attendance. Because there is a clear path from the front yard to the back, these doors can easily be used as a private entrance to the room — but truth be told, Miss Lynne was so friendly and welcoming that we never felt the need to use them as such! One morning she treated us to a delicious breakfast (on Wedge Wood china!) — outdoors in the shade of her potted garden. We all sat and talked together for a good hour and a half, over what my husband and I agreed was THE BEST COFFEE he or I have ever tasted! For more private sorts, we can assure you Miss Lynne was never overly doting and not at all intrusive. She simply goes above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and feeling right at home for the length of your stay. All in all, Miss Lynne's place is as cheerful and inviting as she herself is, and that is saying a great deal. We were delighted to be her guests and would visit again in a heartbeat!
Thank you, I am so overwhelmed with the perfect gifts you gave me and now this incredible review, how did I get so lucky? A hardbound book by Neil Gaiman, (his latest) was too much, but the bottle of wine in the shape of a cat, how amazingly perfect. I will never forget you, the most perfect couple ever. I have started The Ocean at the end of the Lane and next onto Trigger Effect, how did you know I'm a fiend for hardback books? Actually the pleasure of your company was plenty, you were so complimentary and included me in your trip and showed me the video of Neil Gaiman. You were quite magical. Please come back anytime.
I'm experiencing a rebirth through my airbnb guests, each one so interesting and well traveled. I've been in all the US states and surrounding countries but never Europe and now Europe comes to me. I've been lucky to have skied in all the western resorts and I Sky-dived for 5 years in my youth. Now I stay at home with my cats and wait for exciting travelers to come and visit. I'm also an avid reader and love offbeat movies. So come and share your stories with me.
