The space is set up to be totally private, there is a separate side entrance, the picture on the website shows the slate path I recently installed to enable you to enjoy total anonymity or if you prefer, you're welcome to use the front entrance. At the bottom left of this paragraph you will see "more" typed in red, please click on that and read the entire description before you book. . A perk I didn't realize would come with my airbnb guests is: Some of you are very sociable and willing to share stories of your lives and the amazing places you've been. If you're staying for a few days and you'd like a private dinner, you're welcome to use the kitchen and dining room. I'm totally blown away with my guests and I want your space to be totally yours when you arrive. I have to have the time in between guests to make it a haven for you so please stick to the check in/out times listed. I'm child friendly but the house is not, too much glass, sorry and only accommodates 2 adults. The outside garden is the perfect place to relax with squirrels and birds for company, they do their part to make this space as close to perfect as possible. Please let me know when you first contact me, if you'd prefer hello when checking in or just leave the key under the mat out back.
There is a washer and dryer, also a large park across the street for walking a small dog if you travel with your pet. The park has two tennis courts, a lake, Little League Baseball games, and an oval track for running laps and is about 100 yards from your front door. There is also a community pool which is seldom used but nicely maintained about 400' from your door. A vegetable market about a 1 1/2 blks, I walk there often, they have the best produce. A family owned restaurant "Gino's" is just around the corner from the mkt. Moderate price though only open in the evening. Iavaroni's the 2nd best steak restaurant (Bern's being the best) in Tampa is about a mile from here, easily walkable.
Interaction with Guests
You may use this vacation spot in total privacy, it's set up to be self contained, however you may enjoy the entire downstairs as almost entirely yours as I have a full apt. upstairs where I spend the majority of my time, you will see me on the computer upstairs in the open loft or in the kitchen where you're welcome to join in, but it's up to you how much socializing you want.
We are 2 minutes from Dale Mabry, one of Tampa's main streets. Many restaurants and stores line this avenue and we are minutes away from the airport and International Mall, one of Florida"s high end malls. Wonderful shopping and restaurants. 5 minutes from Busch Gardens and the Interstate to take you to other Florida attractions. 15 minutes to downtown and Ybor City and downtown Tampa.
There is a bus stop at the corner of Busch and Armenia, though a car comes in handy. If you are using this for a stay in vacation and only occasionally need to get to the store or a restaurant , we will be glad to take you.
Other Things to Note
We have cats and I wouldn't recommend anyone with allergies booking this. The cats don't come in your room, but may wonder through the garden though they are skittish around people and probably won't be in the garden during your visit. I am obsessively clean, feed them upstairs, their litter box is also located upstairs behind closed doors in a bathroom with an air ventilator and maniacally maintained.
No smoking except outside and be happy come with a good attitude and if you have issues for goodness sake let me know, they can be remedied. I want my guests to be comfortable during their stay.
Private Bathroom has been recently updated with Granite countertops and a vessel sink , the faucet is unique, we think it's very Star Trekkie and hope you enjoy using it, there is a tub and shower also.
When we arrived she was there to welcome us warmly. She explained everything (WiFi Password) about room and gave us our keys. She had fruit, cheese, crackers, and wine waiting for us. Perfect location for Busch Gardens and Lowery Park Zoo. About 10-15 minute drive to Downtown Tampa. The room was clean and comfortable , the bed was very soft and she kept the temp in the house in the low 70's (which I loved). Breakfast was offered but we did not accept as we had plans. Our host was incredibly accommodating and personable, she made us feel comfortable and happy to be there. Couldn't believe the price that we got this room it is an amazing value. I look forward to staying here again.
Lynne made me feel very welcome. While her home is in a condo neighborhood setting, it did not feel that way! She provided a "white noise" machine which I did not need. She provided breakfast and snacks and asked if I needed more ! The suite with en suite bathroom, and private garden patio were immaculate and well appointed. I would stay again!
Lynn was so wonderful! My guest and I had such an enjoyable time our first night staying at her accommodations, that we extended our vacation. That place was exactly as described and then some. The outside patio and garden was beautiful and the room was fully equipped with anything you might need. She had detailed instructions on how to use the TV and made herself available for any and all questions we might have. She even made us breakfast in the morning. We are planning our next trip to the Tampa area and will definitely be staying with her.
Lynne made me and my guest feel so welcomed we extended our vacation to stay with her another night. The room was beautiful and fully equipped with anything you might need. She had detailed instructions on the TV use, and made her self available to us for any and all questions. She was so wonderful, that we our planning another vacation and will definitely be staying with her.
Our stay with Lynne was pleasant. The room was spacious and she provided everything we needed -- from toothbrushes to coffee/tea to water for our daily excursions. She provided a hot breakfast on one of our mornings there, of omelets, hash browns, and bacon.
Our only complaint was that we found a couple of large roaches and spiders in the room during our stay. Being from Seattle, we aren't used to that. I wish I had said something earlier...as we were leaving, Lynne showed me a bottle of bug killer to spray on them!
Overall, decent stay...just ask Lynne for the bug spray when you come to stay :)
Lynne was fabulous. She had availability last minute and I'm so glad I booked her place. The room was peaceful and quiet. The back patio was very nice. Location is ideal for Tampa and under 30 min from everything. Lynne cooked me a great omlette my last morning and I enjoyed chatting with her.
What a great, relaxing time with Lynne! We only stayed with her one night, but would happily stay longer. Booking was fairly last minute, and was very easy to communicate with her before arriving. The location is very close to Busch Gardens which was nice for us-probably not the most convenient spot for a 'beach weekend'-but that was not us.
A very warm welcome from her...and her cats. Very relaxing outdoor area where we enjoyed the bottle of wine and cheese plate that was in the in-room fridge for us. Plenty of clean toiletries available, and lots of coffee/tea supplies available in-room. We had great conversation about everything 'artsy' over a breakfast of warm chocolate croissants and coffee before we left in the morning.
Overall great experience-SO much more comfortable than any hotel would be. Felt just like staying in a relatives house that was looking forward to us coming. Would highly recommend for anyone looking in the area.
About the Host, Lynne
I'm experiencing a rebirth through my airbnb guests, each one so interesting and well traveled. I've been in all the US states and surrounding countries but never Europe and now Europe comes to me. I've been lucky to have skied in all the western resorts and I Sky-dived for 5 years in my youth. Now I stay at home with my cats and wait for exciting travelers to come and visit. I'm also an avid reader and love offbeat movies. So come and share your stories with me.
