About this listing
Sitting at the nexus of Bangkok's BTS Skytrain (Asoke station), MRT underground (Sukhumvit station) and the Airport Rail Link (Makkasan station) is this beautiful and spacious 2-BR apartment. There is simply no place more easily accessible!
Welcome to my huge apartment! It's got two bedroooms, each with king beds. The massive living room has an HDTV with DVD player and cable TV with international channels. The kitchen has a double range burner, a fridge and the washing machine. There's even a little bar area in case you want to whet your palette before a night out. I've just made new additions and minor renovations in March 2015 for you to enjoy and to keep everything top-notch for my guests.
ACCESS - In addition to the apartment, you will have access to the building's gym and swimming pool on the 27th floor, which has fantastic views of the city.
Interaction with Guests
GETTING HERE - In addition to the very thorough directions that will be available to you upon booking, which I've written in both English (for you) and Thai (for the taxi driver), I will personally meet you at the apartment to had over the keycard, keys, and to give you a tour.
Asoke is one of Bangkok's main nerve centers. You can walk to the BTS skytrain in 7 minutes, to the MRT metro in only 5, and to the Airport Rail Link in only 5 minutes, too.
It's a hub for businesses, shopping, partying and restaurants alike. Working on the road? One of Bangkok's best co-working spaces, Glowfish, is right across the street. I also have fast, dedicated wifi in the apartment for digital nomads.
There is amazing Thai and international food available from street stalls to high-end restaurants. There's shopping and family entertainment at Terminal 21 and there are loads of pubs, bars and watering holes.
This is the best part of downtown Bangkok for public transportation. It's the only place in the city that connects to all three train systems: the skytrain (Asoke BTS station), the metro (Petchaburi MRT station), and the Airport Rail Link (Makkasan station), which takes you to Suvarnaphumi BKK airport.
Other Things to Note
Any questions? Just ask! I love to share my favorite places and things to do with my guests.
-Turn off the air conditioning every time you leave!
-Take your shoes off indoors, Thai style.
-Smoke only on the balcony. Use an ashtray. Do not flick ashes over the balcony.
-Respect the neighbors - don't be too loud.
-Dress appropriately in the pool area.
-Public displays of affection are taboo in Thailand. Do not do it!
About the Host, Chris
Hi, I'm Chris. My parents and grandmother showed me how to travel when I was 10. They took me to Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Wales. I got the bug and I've not slowed down since. Traveling is a way of life. Done right, it's a challenge that teaches you not just about the world, but about yourself. That's why it's usually best done alone...
Why am I telling you this? Because you're a traveler, too, and any traveler is a friend of mine!
In addition to wandering the world, my biggest passions in life are languages and music. I speak, read and write English as my mother tongue and Spanish, German, Arabic (Standard and Egyptian), and Thai as second languages. I'm currently working (more slowly than I'd like) on my Mandarin and Burmese. I'm also a drummer who loves nothing more than to zone out for an hour practicing his rudiments and chops. Life is good!
Then there's business. Gotta make money for all that traveling, those language textbooks and those drum kits, right? I manage properties on this awesome site, I teach languages online, I make tailored suits here in Bangkok for export, and I'm currently producing a revolutionary line of men's underwear. Coming soon...
