Our request to book was last minute, so we were pleased with the quick, welcoming response. Although minutes from the centre of town, it was the ultimate, hideaway haven. Set beside coastal wetlands out of sight and sound of neighbours it provided us with comfort and peace. The apartment provided was spacious and well-appointed and communications with Robert and Robyn were first rate. We would love to come back again.
Robert and Robyn were perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome and gave us superb advice on what sights to see on our ongoing journey on The Great Ocean Road.
Robert and Robyn are such nice people that I just want to make firends with them. They are warm, kind-hearted, and also very helpful. Because I do not have a drive license, Robert picked us up at the rail station and sent us back. And he even showed us around Warrnambool. Their house are very beautiful. The bedrooms are comfortable. My family had a good sleep during the night with electrical blankets. The heater is so strong that it provide us a cosy environment. The bathroom are clear and clean. Robyn provides some toys for kids too. I will come again definitely. Of course I will strongly advise this place to my friends. It makes you feel like home when in Warrnambool.
Hopes to see you again.
Friendly host! Brought us around our accommodation and recommended us to places to have our breakfast and to buy groceries.
What an amazing property Robert & Robyn have developed here secluded near the golf course, well established with plenty of native windbreak garden and yet to be infringed upon by the urban development. The apartment is secreted away at the rear and beneath their massive family home like a hidden cave retreat. It would be a fresh cooling oasis in summer. In winter we certainly appreciated the gas heater and electric blanket. It has all the fittings you need and we made good use of the kitchen. Robert & Robyn are super hosts with great local knowledge, wise advise, community-minded, well-traveled and wine connoisseurs. Loved seeing their little plot of Pinot noir vines. And visited their billabong to be enchanted with a white crane nesting there. A great place to stay when a passing tourist, longer visitor or newcomer in Warrnambool.
Great place to stay. The accommodation is as described and we got a warm welcome, much appreciated after a day's driving on the Great Ocean Rd. Would recommend.
About the Host, Robert
Retired teacher and professional fisherman....now an amateur winemaker. My wife ( Robyn) and I love travelling overseas and meeting people. Food and wine are important to both of us. It is pretty easy to share this passion. My French is limited to school boy memories and French grape regions.
