The apartment was great! Great localization, very clean, confortable and organized! Very fast wi-fi! Cal was also very helpful and explained us everything about the neighborhood and gave us great tips!
Studio parfaitement situé, très bon (website hidden)ès heureux de mon séjour.
Very quiet and lovely stay.
Anca, Cal's assistance was very helpful and reachable when needed.
Overall a very good stay! Recommended.
Cozy flat with small kitchen, big TV, quite big bathroom (for Paris) and excellent king size bed! Owners were very hospitable and ready to help.
Good location near both Odeon metro (subway) station and RER station, Jardin du Luxemburg and St.-Germain boulevard - in the very center of Paris!
The apartment was very close to "as-billed," with a great location just around the corner from the Luxembourg gardens. We definitely enjoyed our stay, utilizing the kitchen (there are a few small food shops within a couple of blocks) and neighborhood restaurants. Everything was clean and in order upon our arrival. For those extremely concerned about cleanliness, shower grout and hidden corners could use some work, but overall everything was great. Linens, and some bath supplies were provided. Kitchen had a few things provided, but not much. Cal was about 40 minutes late in greeting us, but there had been a flight delay, so I don't hold that against him. I'd suggest this apartment to friends, no doubt.
On the whole, my family enjoyed our stay. The issues others raised, should be taken into account of any of the following are important.
First, there was no air conditioning. A/C is provided, I gather, from a portable unit. When we called about it, Cal told us it had broken two tenants ago. He offered to bring us a fan, but never did.
Second, cleanliness was an issue. I've never seen such a poor job at surface cleaning. If you looked, under the bed for example, or behind the door, there were dust bunnies, the size of small bunnies. You could see the circular marks where the cleaner had stopped wiping, And with a white floor, dirt shows. Also, there was no waste basket so there was nowhere to dispose of food crumbs after we swept them up. Lastly, the towels were damp (in the wardrobe) when we arrived, as if washed, and folded before they were dry.
Third, there were no toiletries. I'd flown from our place in Budapest, and bringing toiletries could have been planned for. But in an e-mail Cal said, specifically, not to worry about it. There was very little soap, toothpaste and that was all.
Lastly, Alexandra, his assistant was supposed to meet us at the front of the building. I waited a half hour (with a three year old and luggage) before calling Cal, and she was waiting in the apartment. I did not have a code to ring her, of course, and would not have known that.
These inconveniences made a short trip somewhat less enjoyable. The location is a good one, and the apartment is exactly as it is pictured.
Excellent location --really close to perfect. Well-equipped, but no toilet paper, so bring your own. Accurate description except for the "AC" listing. Spacious and modern bathroom with SHOWER not tub, which should please most Americans.
Cal was over a half hour late in meeting us, despite my email assuring him we would be there at the agreed time. So we had a frustrating half hour trying to contact him at the beginning. So I recommend being explicit about your arrival time (but be accurate!) and get his mobile phone number ahead of time, instead of the office phone so you can reach him if needed.
Nonetheless, it was an excellent apartment in a fabulous location at a reasonable price. Please note also that you might experience remodeling noise in the building starting at 8 am -- we found this common in Paris in July/August, so I think it is a function of the season. But we slept thru it, and enjoyed our stay. Recommended!
My wife and I we stay 4 nights at end of july. The flat is perfect located....but it could had been more clean, especially the toilette.,and considering we had everyday between 32 to 35 degree...at list a fan would had been much of a help!.I meet Cal the day i was leaving and it is a friendly guy.
It was a beautiful place to stay at. The location is ideal and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Paris for a short trip.
We had a great experience at Cal's place. The communication before and after was very good. We were met by Cal's assistant who gave us a quick tour of the place. It was the most comfortable apartment we stayed in during our month-long trip to Europe. The apartment is very clean, has a very comfortable bed and has a very nice kitchen and bathroom. But the best part about the place is the location. You are in the heart of the 6th district and near awesome metro stops. We felt very safe and would recommend this place to any of our friends!
