The Neighborhood

I love the beauty of the area, the ever changing views from Caragh Heights holiday home.

On the days when the weather is not so good you can still enjoy the spectacular lake and the surrounding mountains.

  • What an amazing little break we had. The house covered our every need but the view was what we were there for and it was breathtaking. We seemed lucky with the weather but am sure it would still look as amazing in a thunder storm! Very quiet surroundings and only 5 mins to Killorglin. Will definitely be returning. Thanks Annette for your lovely hospitality.

  • We had a lovely stay at Annette's Lough Curagh home. It was perfect for touring Kerry and the rings. Annette was a great host, friendly and welcoming, and the cottage was a great start to our trip. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to our friends.

  • The house is lovely with a nice vista and area to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful view. We had 6 nights and payed around extra 30 Euro for gas and 6 for electricity with the heating on only a couple of hours a day which could be expensive in winter, along with the 50 Euro for cleaning it was 86 Euro on top of the booking so best budget a little extra. I would not recommend for a family with young a baby, very steep gravel type driveway that you struggle or are unable to push a pram up. On hot sunny days we found there were allot of midgy like flies around probably due to the closeness of the lake making it at times unbearable to sit outside. Curtains are thin and summer days are long so your room will be light at 0430. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable and cosy bed. Annette was very efficient in checking us in and out she also provided an infant cot and was kind enough to provided a high chair.

    Thank you for your review.

Yes, the house and it's surrounding area are beautiful and we are very proud of it and work very hard to make sure people have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

All guests are informed before booking that there will be utility charges charged at cost price based on usage.

The reason for the higher than normal utility charges was probably because this family had been camping the previous weeks and washed and dried all their clothes when they arrived at the house. Also, despite the fact they had booked for two people and one baby, there was in fact four adults plus a baby using showers, hot water, etc.

All guests are made aware of these charges based on usage before arrival and agree to them before proceeding with the booking.

Iit was my understanding that the guests were awake early in the morning because of their nine month old baby who could not adjust to the time difference, this is the first time anyone has complained about the curtains, but if this is really a problem it can be very easily resolved.

Insects of some sort are to be found outdoors everywhere in the world particulary near water. A citronella candle ( which we provide) will keep them at bay!

Caragh Heights is perched high on a hillside overlooking the majestic Caragh Lake. Therefore there is a steep hill which is very manageable for most able bodied people. I have pushed buggies and cycled a bike up this hill many times!

  • We enjoyed staying at Caragh Heigts Holiday home very much!
The views from the house are simply astounding. And the view changes every hour. The house itself is very comfortable, everything you would want there is present. The only thing I missed was internet acces but that's personal and you don't really need it when you have such beautifull surroundings. Anette was a lovely host, she gave us very clear instructions to get to the meeting place and gave all the necessary info on the house and it's equipment. There's loads of information concerning the region in the house, so much to do and we had so little time to do it in, we decided to come back probably next year.
