Interaction with Guests
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jon on (phone number hidden) or through the airbnb site
The neighborhood is quiet and residential, although it is in the Tahoe National Forest so it's not all uniformly laid out with fenced in properties etc.
It is far enough away from commercial centers to feel remote but there is a 7-eleven half a mile south on North Lake Boulevard. Carnelian Bay is 3 miles north which has a couple of restaurants and other amenities or Tahoe City is 5 miles south for supermarkets and other stores.
There's parking at the cabin and to travel around you really need a car.
Other Things to Note
The lake is a short walk away (5 minutes) although the route is steep, there's directions in the cabin on the best way of getting there. The trails of Tahoe National Forest are 2 minutes walk away.
There's a gas grill on the deck.
No smoking in the cabin and no candles. Please be respectful of our neighbours, so no parties. No food and drink on the sofa, there is a bar area for your convenience! As the cabin is in Tahoe National Forest no campfires or even charcoal BBQ's are permitted.
From Dec 01, 2015 - Feb 28, 2016 the minimum stay is 5 nights.
We had a family weekend. A great time. The neighborhood is nice with the forest and trail just up the street. We used Kings Beach and spent the entire day there, wonderful. The house was comfortable with a nice deck. Laundry room was a plus.
We spent a wonderful weekend at Alison's charming cabin. It was perfect for the four of us - the beds were comfortable, the hot tub was great, and the location is perfect. We went to Kings Beach and Emerald Bay from there, both were 20-30 mins away.
Great cabin, great location . We had an awesome time . Very close to the lake and hiking spots. Very clean, most of the supplies were provided.
The cabin wasn’t quite what we expected, but we still had a lovely time and had everything we truly needed. More importantly, Alison and Jon were very accommodating, helpful, and quick to respond to our questions--thanks, Jon, for your early morning advice on where to replace a forgotten bathing suit! The cabin itself is pretty basic, but from what I’ve heard this is pretty typical of Lake Tahoe cabins—let’s just say if I never see another wood panelled wall again it’ll be too soon :) That said, the kitchen was sufficient for cooking proper dinners, the counter with stools was a great spot to eat breakfast, the beds were very comfy, and the deck was fantastic--we spent most of our time at the house sitting around the picnic table out there and just loved it. Even though we could see several other houses around us, it still felt private and the trees around the property were lovely. Carnelian Bay itself is conveniently situated, though we did only spend a quick half hour at the local beach. Emerald Bay, which is about 30 minutes away, is well worth the drive. All in all, a great weekend.
We had a great stay. The place was in a great location not too far from the city and the beach but far enough that you were able to enjoy the quiet of the forest. Everything was clean and the space was perfect for cooking and entertaining. The hosts were lovely and made sure we had everything we need. I recommend staying here.
Great space for groups - Alison was very responsive to all our questions. Thanks for all your help!
Cute little cabin with good amenities; be prepared to drive to find a good spot on the lake though.
