TIPS FOR BARCELONA:
What to see:
I recommend taking the BUS TURISTIC which is the hop on – hop off bus. You can enjoy the ride around the city and see, from the outside most of the most important architecture of our beautiful city (Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Palace, Montjuich, Pueblo Español..). This will give you a perfect glance of the entire city and it is absolutely the best way to have an birds eye of Barcelona.
Once you have seen (but not visited) all….we recommend you to ….
Enjoy the bike lanes!!! Cycling in the city is the best way to visits its places.…and go home with a fit body!!!
Cycling up all Paseo de Gracia and walk down all Rambla de Cataluña. Paseo de Gracia has beautiful Gaudi architecture, international shopping and sites. Rambla de Cataluña (with a pedestrian strolling area in the center of the street) will offer more local shopping, tapas places (Cerveceria Catalana) and little coffee shops.
Walk the Gothic. Walk down Las Ramblas and enter in the Boqueria market (best in the early morning hours…8am). Have tapas in Bar Cañete, take Ferran Street and cross Via Layetana to get Argentería street. Stop in front of the amazing Santa Maria del Mar church and enter into La Viña del Señor for a wine and cheese stop. Border the church through its right and end up in the El Borne neighborhood. Have fun through the one of a kind stores and then walk to the Picasso Museum. Walk then to the Santa Caterina Market and cross to The Cathedral to find Portaferrissa Street and end up in Plaza Cataluña.
Where to eat:
Easy price: Cervecería Catalana, Bar Cañete ((website hidden)), Lolita ((website hidden)), Cuines Santa Caterina, Bar Lobo, Fabrica Moritz, Quimet Quimet.
Medium Price Restaurants: Igueldo, Boca Grande, Tragaluz, Mordisco, Kilo, Passadis d’en Pep, Can Majo.
- RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBOURS, no load/night parties are allowed. If I receive complaints from any of the neighbors or the police, due to inappropriate behavior on your part, you will be expelled from the apartment is the time that is, losing the security and the right to terminate your stay in the apartment, and you do not return the amount of days that ye may be hosted from expulsion.
- All trash should be taken out (trash containers on the corner of the street block)
Alessandro est une personne fort agréable et serviable. Son logement est bien situé sur une avenue passante avec le métro au pied de l'immeuble et la sagrada familia toute proche
What a wonderful time we had at Alessandro's apartment in the cultural city of Barcelona.
The apartment is well positioned for all the sites, Sagrada Familia is about 200mts away, the beaches are a 30min walk down the road and a metro station is straight outside the door.
We are a family of 5 and the apartment was perfect for us, the kids loved the vintage style lift up to the 5th floor and the panoramic views of the area from the windows. The décor has a quirky eclectic retro look and with 3 large bedrooms, we had plenty of room, the hammocks were popular with the kids. We didn't use the bikes but plenty of people in Barca do and they look a good way of getting around.
Alessandro was an excellent host, he communicated well, we were able to drop our bags off early, whilst he was still preparing the apartment. He showed us where to go and the easiest ways of getting around (Metro, T-10 card), and even organised an early taxi for us for our departure. It is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for culture, good food, beaches and a great atmosphere.
I would recommend the apartment and city to everyone.
Muchas Gracias Alessandro!
Alessandro was so welcoming! We were running late by 30 minutes and he was so understanding and greeted us warmly. He carried our luggage up to his flat for us and took us on a tour around the flat. The flat was just as he described. He had linens and bedding for us and allowed us to use whatever we needed in the flat. He also had a map and restaurant suggestions for us and showed us all the best places to see in Barcelona. The bikes were so awesome! We loved being able to bike around the city and see a lot in a shorter amount of time. Alessandro was so accessible and answered emails quickly. Alessandro arranged a taxi for us to get to the airport on our departure, making it way easier on us. He was such a great host and the flat was awesome! Definitely recommend staying here!!
Alessandro jest bardzo miłym, pomocnym i kontaktowym gospodarzem :-)) Cierpliwie oprowadził po całym mieszkaniu, tłumacząc zasady użytkowania. Przygotował mapy Barcelony i zaznaczył miejsca głównych atrakcji. Obok mały sklep spożywczy, Tabacos (można kupić bilety) i bar z parasolami, gdzie smacznie zjecie i coś wypijecie. Szczerze polecamy:) Pozdrawiamy Cię Alessandro:-) i do zobaczenia
My family and I had a great stay over Alessandro flat. It was very clean, very spacious and had all we need to make our stay comfortable! Just like home away from home! Alessandro is a great host as well! The area could not better located, stone throw to the beach and fairly short walk to tourists attractions, Gotic, Born parts etc. I will be back next year for sure! Grazie Mille Alessandro
BEST BnB in Barcelona!!! What makes this place so special ... LOCATION & the kind & thoughtful HOST, Alessandro. He provides so many conveniences for his guests; baskets for your belongings, cozy bathrobes and WONDERFUL homemade breakfasts!!! Rooms are bright, nicely decorated & very clean. Even has a W&D if needed. Bikes are available for touring the city too if you have time.
There is a lift which is awesome since the apartment is on the 7th floor:)
Alessandro communicates with his guests in a timely fashion. His recommendations for places to see & dining experiences were very much appreciated.
In our opinion, Alessandro goes ABOVE & BEYOND for his guests & should be voted AirBnB HOST of the YEAR!!!

LIVE THE CITY AS A LOCAL DO... here some useful tips:
*Don't orden a beer, order a "CANYA" and you'll get a 25 cl glass of draught beer. When you make a toast, say "CHIN-CHIN" or "SALUT", salut is the top local toast!
* Locals will be thankful if you try to talk some spanish, but you will win their hearts if you do it in Catalan. Say "BON DIA" for goodmorning or "ADEU" for goodbye. Easy way to win their sympathy...if you chose it!!
* Natives love being outside, especially at night. Since smoking has been banned in bars, people tend to gather in front of bars and pubs. Watch your behavior at that time: yelling, singing, drinking alcohol, removing your shirt or pissing in the street can get you a juicy fine.
*Barcelona at night rocks from Monday to Sunday. The nightlife scene is so broad that even locals find it difficult to decide where to go. But locals have suffered several invasions of nightclubs, now they flee tourists and shouting Erasmus student. Remember: Las Ramblas is not only place to go out for a drink or dance!!!
*Spain is well know for his siesta and paella. Although some locals have taken both as a habit, neither, are typical in the region. Try "FIDEUA"!!!
*Here La Sangria is becoming an exclusive drink for teenagers and tourists. If you want to have a cool drink before eating, try the "VERMOUTH". If you want to celebrate, ask for "CAVA" (a catalan sparkling wine of Denominatio of Origin status).
