Windchimes Hayloft is located in the Wellswood are of Torquay. We love the fact that there are so many coastal and local walks, straight from the door. The neighbourhood is leafy and upmarket, and there are a range of local shops less than five minutes away in Wellswood "Village." You can walk down
You can get the bus from the end of the road - less than a five minute walk away - to town, Brixham, Totnes, Shaldon, Teignmouth, Dartmouth, Exeter and lots more. Torquay train station is a short bus or taxi ride away - or you can take a leisurely stroll along the sea front to get there.
Other Things to Note
Windchimes Hayloft is quirky, cosy and truly characterful. Open treads lead up to the bedroom, so it's unsuited to those with mobility problems.

Many thanks to Jacquie and Kevin for such a warm welcome and a wonderful place to stay. The cottage was lovely and really comfortable, and we felt completely at home. They had gone to the trouble of adding some special touches that we really appreciated, including a bottle of bubbly and some home made muffins! We highly recommend this accommodation if you want a relaxing break in Torquay.
We were made to feel very welcome our hosts were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage itself was beautiful warm and welcoming we had a comfortable stay.
I'm really pleased that you both enjoyed your stay at Windchimes Hayloft. You'll be pleased to know that the cottage has a lovely new ladder radiator in the shower room, to make it an even cosier place to stay in Winter and the Spring. We very much enjoyed meeting you both and hope to see you again. All the best, Jacquie xx
A wonderful two nights in this fantastic hideaway. The hosts Jacquie and Kevin are incredibly warm and welcoming and leave lovely little touches to make your stay feel special. We especially loved the large fluffy dressing gowns, homemade muffins, wine and special gift for our 'baby to be.' The cottage is very small, but very cosy and has everything you could want for your stay - a small but varied selection of DVDs, books (we particularly enjoyed the Agatha Christie graphic novels), puzzles, chess, and a tourist info amount of leaflets and information about the area. The kitchen has a combi-oven, two hobs, fridge and enough pots, pans, cutlery etc. to make self catering an easy option. The steps up to the sleeping loft are very steep, so only stay here if you have no mobility issues. We also knocked our heads a couple of times on the low sloping ceiling of the sleeping loft - but considered this a small price to pay for staying there! The cottage is situated close to Torquay town centre - only about a 20 minute walk down hill. Would definitely recommend to any couple looking for a sweet home from home while exploring the area.
Windchimes is a lovely clean, cosy and well decorated cottage. You can make yourself feel right at home, it was very warm too, which I loved and welcomed in chilly October! The hosts Jacquie and Kevin were great and gave us tips for where to go in person and in their welcome book. Jacquie made us some delicious cakes on our arrival and provided a bottle of bubbly, just what we needed after a long journey. All the places of interest were short walks away, we didn't need to move the car once, which was a bonus. The harbour was lovely and we took a ferry to Brixham to walk around and enjoy the views. Definitely would return to this lovely cottage and see what else the town has to offer.
Lovely weekend spent at Windchimes, was exactly as described and exactly what we needed. Not too far from the seafront and just a short walk from the local pub. Our host Jacquie was wonderful, going way beyond anything we could've expected. Definitely would stay there again x
We really enjoyed our stay! Thank you Jacquie for the extras, the champagne at an extra cost and the complimentary cake for my partners birthday was just lovely! Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for an amazing stay. We loved wind chimes so much, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is in a great location for exploring Torquay and Devon. The welcome treats of muffins, chocolate and wine were a lovely bonus to arrive to after a long journey!
The kents pub is a 5 minute walk away and serves great food, we also enjoyed hanburys fish and chips! Meadfoot beach, berry pomeroy castle, kents cavern and cockington were some of the fantastic places we would recommend to visit.
Would highly recommend windchimes to family and friends and we hope to come back in the future!
