Wonderful hosts - Extremely welcoming and helpful! The cottage is private and well-kept with a lovely garden, right in the centre of suburban Torquay.
On arrival my husband and I were greeted by Jacquie and Kevin with a very warm welcome, also a lovely welcome gift of wine and muffins were waiting for us once inside.
The cottage was just as described and was in a very peaceful location. There was plenty of books and leaflets to hand about the area and useful tips for places to visit and restaurants and pubs to eat and drink.
Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Jacquie dans son petit cottage entouré d'un très joli jardin. Le quartier est assez central, très près des commerces tout en étant assez résidentiel.
Merci Beaucoup for your comments. Windchimes is converted from a former hayloft and is decorated to reflect it's heritage and age whist having modern touches. It is very cosy and perfect for two, and hopefully the photos reflect the manner in which it has been tastefully decorated. It sits give style next to our home. The sofa is a leather Chesterfield of high quality and the curtains are made of a premium cloth. We are looking at changing the position of the TV. Guest are aways welcome to move the sofa around to suit their comfort. All the Best and thanks again for choosing us.
A lovely cottage and delightful hosts. Even though our stay was a bit rainy and windy, the Wind Chimes was a warm respite. Compact and self-contained, we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Jacquie and Kevin even had us in for tea on our departure morning.
We had an enjoyable stay in this cosy studio. The property was nicely appointed and had everything we needed. The garden is beautiful and had a wonderful scent around dusk. The hosts Jacquie and Kevin are a friendly couple and gave us a warm welcome and there was a nice bottle of wine and some muffins waiting for us on arrival. I booked the property on the eve of our departure so I was very pleased with Jacquie's prompt communication. Torquay was fabulous and the weather was amazing. Take a 20 minute walk to Babbacombe Down (or £1.90 on the bus) and have a pint of St. Austell Proper Job ale in The Buccaneer Inn. Lovely Jubbly! You can also get a decent, although pricey, pint of Tribute or Otter ale at The Kents pub which is only 5 minutes away on foot. We tried Wetherspoon's London Inn in Torquay for both food and ale and it was disappointing for both.
The cottage was lovely & just as described. The wine & muffins on arrival were a kovely treat.
Jacquie was on hand to greet us on arrival & bid us farewell. The information pack was good & the house was a very good location to explore Torquay & surrounding South Devon.
Dear Mary; Thank You so much for your comments. We enjoyed meeting you both. We do provide dish cloths, and tea towels for drying crockery etc after washing up. Is that what you meant? There is also a hand towel provided together with two large bath sheets, and body towels, but thanks again for your comments. Thanks again for choosing Windchimes Hayloft. Jacquie x
A lovely place to stay. I received a warm welcome with some homemade muffins and bottle of wine to help me settle in. The place had everything I needed for my self catering mini break, including all the basics and lots of info for things to do. The location was good for a base to travel from and explore and it had local shops within walking distance which was very handy. The garden is beautiful and had it not been raining I would have enjoyed sitting out in it. Thank you!
Dear Kirsty; We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. I'm glad you liked the garden too. I'm including Larkspur flowers, which are like Delphiniums, in the planting display for this summer, as a new addition to the garden, for those long Summer days of lounging in the steamer chairs. We enjoyed meeting you. All the Best, Jacquie X
