Our renovated stone farmhouse is full of quirky charm. Comfortably furnished throughout, you'll enjoy being inside our lovely home or outside enjoying the peace and quiet of the garden and it's rural location.
Enjoy the very private garden and terrace for relaxing and dining or a barbecue and the 3m x 5m pool is great for a cooling dip during long summer days.
Interaction with Guests
We are available to answer questions and be of whatever help that we can, living close by the property.
We love the total peace and quiet of living surrounded by beautiful countryside. A wealth of walks and cycle paths surround the farmhouse but we are only a short distance from the beautiful Dordogne river and some of the areas most spectacular chateaux, mediaeval villages and many pre-historic sites. Chateau des Milandes, once home to Josephine Baker is close by.
We are in very rural surroundings so a car is essential to explore the area and all it's ancient villages, chateaux and interesting sites.
Detailed travel information can be provided from airports, ferry ports and train stations.

We welcome happy pets and happy people !
Jane and Steve were wonderful- very welcoming, laid-back, and helpful. The house is beautiful, beds are comfortable, and the yard perfect. We spent a weekend there and were sad to leave. There is so much to see and do around there that one week would have been perfect- we'd love to go back!!!
Our stay at Steeve and Jane was just perfect !
Thanks a gain for your warm welcome, we spent a "super lovely" weekend in your cosy house where we felt just we were at home !
The places around were close and helped us to remember where we (humankind ) came from !
Good bye, hope to be back soon to test BBQ and swimming-pool
We had a perfect stay with perfect weather in Jane's and Steve's gîte.
We felt at home from the start to the end.
We thank them for their hospitality and we hope to meet them again.
We came back for more! So tranquil and peaceful. We'll be seeing each other again soon, I'm sure. Finn says 'Hi!' to Otis.
We have stayed at Steve and Jane's beautiful property before and when we planned our move to France, they were the first people we thought of when booking our overnight stay before we travelled onto our new home. They are the most delightful and welcoming hosts after a long drive from the UK. We were also welcomed by a lovely warm house with the log burner in full swing. We would highly recommend anyone to stay at La Roudie without a doubt. Thank you Steve and Jane for making us feel so welcome.
About the Host, Jane & Steve
We are an energetic, friendly couple who have travelled the globe and love life.
We've chosen this beautiful area in France to settle and embark on our next life project - renovating an old farmhouse and tobacco barn.
We are surrounded by stunning countryside which we enjoy every day with our characterful jack russell dog 'Otis'.
We love to meet new people and look forward to meeting lots of like minded people to share and enjoy French life, it's delicious food and wonderful wine.
