We had a very nice stay. The owner Salvatore met us and helped me find parking. The apartment was comfortable with nice views of the sea and about 10-15 minutes from many restaurants in the historical district. Angela who works their fixed us fresh coffee with croissants and jellies. A good value all and all.
This was a great place to stay! Tricky to find but worth it. Laura welcomed us on our first night and in the morning we met our host Angela who was the best! Thanks for the warmth of your welcome, the breakfasts and all the information. Had a great day at the archeological sight, stayed two nights in a huge room and sorry to say "See you later!"
We had the best stay here. Anna was a most welcoming host, helping us to find the place (which really isn't that hard, its just that our GPS was misbehaving). She brought us fresh pastries for breakfast! Convenient location, we could easily walk into the main part of the city. The room was large with a wonderful balcony overlooking the coast, which we did not use because it was winter, but I'm sure it would be great when the weather is a little warmer.
How to describe the welcome, kindness and help that Angela and the owners of the BnB have constantly bestowed upon us? I was travelling with my elderly mum. They have picked us at the bus station, welcome with a much appreciated pizza, helped us renting a car, finding information and appreciate the produces of their orchards. We can only recommend Anita BnB to any traveller. Agrigento is also a handy base for travelling on the cost and the centre of Sicily. We had a wonderful stay. Angela is a wonderful person and has definitively made our stay a memorable experience.
Very warm welcome from Angela, with very good advice about Agrigento and the region !
The place is very spacious and clean, we recommend it strongly !
Thank you again Angela !
It was a great pleasure to visit Agrigento! The Appartment and the Service was absolutely perfect. Angela's warm welcome made this holiday unforgettable. And we will surely come again. Valle dei Templi is amazing, of course. But everybody who wants to know more about Agrigento will find the right place in B&B Anita!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at B&B Anita. Our room was large, clean and had a wonderful terrace with a fantastic view. The breakfast was really lovely with fresh bread, eggs, fresh fruit each day. Angela is truly an angel. She made sure we had what we needed and was so helpful in providing guidance and information. Her warmth and caring make this a very special place. The location is great - in the old town, a short walk to restaurants, shops, etc. We had a car, which we could park right out front. Wifi was available (mostly in common area). For we Americans, who are so used to everything being new, we were a little put off by the look of the old town, but we very quickly figured out the area was safe, vibrant and full of history and character. We really loved spending time there. Even tho I have read that it's best to stay near The Valley of the Temples, I don't agree. We drove there easily (and there is public transportation) and stayed late enough to see them light up after dark. Then we came home to our wonderful little B&B and enjoyed a great dinner just a 5 minute walk away.
I had a last minute reservation with Anita and she was absolutely helpful. On the breakfast we had a great chat about Agrigento and its attractions. She knows everything about Pirandello, Scala dei Turchi and beyond. Anita simply arranged my accomodation in my next destination, Castallammare del Golfo, by calling a local B&B (my italian is poor). Don't look further, Anita is the one. And yes, the room is huge, perfect for a group of 4 or 5 people.
We were warmly received by the B&B owner's daughter, Laura, who took the time to explain everything, despite our arrival at a quarter past midnight after a 2 hour drive from Palermo. The next morning we received an equally warm welcome by very lively host Angela, who surprised us with fresh buns, croissants and four different kinds of marmelade, as well as luxurious Genovesi alla crema di ricotta, straight from the baker's oven, a Sicilian treat not to be missed. The other guests were treated to freshly made tea and cappuccino, while we enjoyed the various juices available. We had a very nice time at Valle dei Templi (for which Angela kindly offered maps and guides) and when we returned we were able to buy fresh fruit (including some of the best tomatoes we ever had) at the fruit stand less than 200 meters from the B&B. Opposite the fruit stand there is a good pizzeria with a wood-fired oven. We purchased three tasty pizzas for a mere 13 euro, which we enjoyed on the very large balcony overlooking the ocean. Overall, a wonderful day out and very nice evening spent in Agrigento. The room was great: authentic, clean and very roomy, with two additional single beds in the same style as our very sturdy king sized bed with firm mattress (we slept extraordinarily well), as well as a children's crib, which makes B&B Anita a very attractive offering for families in particular. The name of the B&B, by the way, is derived from Anita Garibaldi, the Brazilian wife and comrade-in-arms of Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi, after whom the street on which the B&B is located was named after.
