About This Listing
Casa Agua Azul is a well constructed and furnished contemporary tropical home. It sits half a block up from the beach about half way up the north beach. Beach access is flat and direct - a quick minute stroll. The neighborhood is one of equally beautiful homes. Quiet and lushly landscaped. Town is a quick 5-10 minute walk away. Due to the location a car is not necessary, but there is a garage and off street parking.
Upon entering up a short flight of stairs, you reach the living room and dinning rooms which sit under a palapa roof overlooking the pool, lawn and garden. There is able comfy siting in the living area and the dinning table for six.
Just above is the modern and fully equipped kitchen, with a view overlooking the living room and pool. Tiled with tumbled marble, furnished with new appliances, and furnished with custom primavera wood cabinets, makes this a clean, functional and gorgeous work area. Just off the kitchen is a laundry room (with new washer and dryer) and a service patio.
On this same level just down the hall there is a powder room and den (with A/C) with two twin beds that makes a perfect room for children. Continuing on there is an elegant full bath and air conditioned bedroom with king-size mattress, full wall of closets and ocean view, and sliding doors that open onto a terrace. This second level terrace is partially shaded with a pergola and furnished with two chaise lounges.
Now around and up to the top level master suite! This large third floor living space is open to another terrace with palm topped ocean view. With the sliding doors open one can lie in bed and view and feel the breeze. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, A/C, two large closets, and finished with a curved polished concrete desk and two side built-ins. The colorfully tiled modern master bath has a curved glassed-in shower stall with an ocean view. Also, there is a spacious sitting room with slept sofa that could as well double for an additional bedroom for one person! This room has A/C as well. Casa Agua Azul is perfect for two families, or two-three couples. With the extra two potential bedrooms there is ample room to sleep seven.
We hope that you had a pleasant trip and you are ready to enjoy your vacation! We will make every effort to make your trip pleasant and memorable. We want to join you in a Mexican Cheers (Saludo!). You will find complementary beer in the fridge. Clean ice can also be found in the Freezer.
Casa Agua Azul is lovingly managed by Rodolfo so you are in good hands. To reach her, you can call him cell from the house phone: (phone number hidden) or email him at for less urgent matters. (email hidden) To get to his house, 48 Manuel Navarrete, stay on the beach front road, cross the river into town, go through the next block. The house is located opposite the red and white Cultural Center, just down from Afortunados Restaurant and Alas Blancas store; it has a stone wall and black gate.
We hope all of our guests will treat this home with the same respect and care that you would treat your own home. In particular:
•Please no smoking under the palapas or in the bedrooms.
•Please do not sit on the couches, chairs and beds with wet suits or towels.
•Please do not take household items other than beach towels to the beach.
•Please DO NOT use any glassware near or in the pool! If a glass breaks and goes into the pool we will have to charge you for the service of draining and refilling the pool.
•Please do not bring any local stray dogs or cats back to the house – no matter how cute they are!
•Please use A/C consciously and remember to turn it OFF when you leave the room for any length of time. It only takes a few minutes to cool off the room if you keep the doors and windows closed. Electricity is extremely expensive in Mexico.
•We would appreciate you remembering to turn off lights and fans, when you leave the house.
•Please try not to flush paper in your toilet. A waste basket is provided next to each toilet , the drainage systems are not equipped for paper products.
Great house located close to the beach. House had a great indoor outdoor feel. Owner and management team were both very responsive. would definitely stay againg.
Marcie was wonderful and the house was absolutely beautiful. We had an unfortunate even the first night that we were there but Marcie was really responsive and helped us immensely.
The house was well kept and had plenty of space. The water in the showers never got warm - but the temp was so hot outside that it didn't matter.
I would warn about security in the area. Make sure you take all of your personal belongings with you (wallet, cash, passports and computers) --- its not safe to leave them in the house (even if they are locked up).
Overall - the experience was wonderful - the house was great and Marcie is very sweet and helpful.
Casa Agua Azul was more even better than we expected. Check-in was easy. The best thing about the house is how the living area, kitchen and pool are all outside and open to each other. We were only two people but I can see how great 6 people would use the property since it is very open. Loved it. Thanks Marcie!
Nosotras repetiremos!
Casa Agua Azul is a wonderful, private house to stay in. The views from the top balcony are gorgeous. We loved the privacy of the pool for our girls, who love a good skinny dip. We also liked the outdoor living - open kitchen, dining room and living room. We didn't have any trouble with mosquitos. The house is about a 5 minute walk to some great restaurants and a beautiful beach. It is a bit further to "town," but still an easy walk. The only thing I'd caution is that the house is quite vertical with a lot of stairs. Our 2 year old did great, but there were a few tense moments when she didn't walk next to a wall. If you have children under 2, I'd recommend another house. All in all, it is a great place to stay. We'd be happy to stay there again.

About the Host, Marcie
Marcie & Mike Cavanagh own Casita Salate and manage Casita Siete Palmas, Casita La Palmita and Casa Agua Azul. We moved permanently to Sayulita in 2006 from Northern California, USA. We both love Mexico and its deeply rooted culture. We look forward to making your trip to Sayulita a memorable one. Sayulita is rich in tourism but also rich in culture. If you look around town, on the beaches, and in local art galleries; you will see traditional folk art made by Sayulita's local artisans and Huichol people. Come stay in Sayulita for its beautiful mix of vacationers and local culture.
