This cozy one bedroom apartment has a full kitchen, gas fire place and spa bath. Right out your back door is a fully functioning organic farm with goats, chickens, bees and pigs. Have a fresh omelet before you take the 10 min train ride downtown!
A farm on the West Side of Chicago? Yep, that's unique!
CTA Green Line will have you down town, to the lake or to Michigan Ave in 11 minutes. Moments to the United Center for a concert, Hawks or Bulls game. Easy access to highways. Plenty of free parking.
Interaction with Guests
We can be your host and cater to you and your family with meals, some transportation and concierge service or you can grab a key and be on your way.
East Garfield Park is definitely the inner city! It's also erupting with art. A nationally recognized art corridor both highbrow and underground. Think SoHo in the 70's. We like to run our rebel flag high here. (email hidden) tasting, check out a painting at a loft gallery, see some mud wrestling, milk a goat and buy some fresh Chevre, grab some BBQ all in one walk.
The Metra, CTA and Kedzie bus are all less than 5 minutes walk. Where are you going? You can get there. Lyft or Uber cab from either airport will cost about $25 and take 20 to 40 minutes.
Other Things to Note
Free laundry, Wi-Fi and cable. There is a full barbeque pit outside big enough to roast a full pig. We have bikes you can borrow and occasionally a car.
No fire. No vomit. No anger.
A fantastic place to stay!! Nicky and her family were very kind and welcoming. The apartment itself is modern but cozy, and in a great location for exploring the city. Farm fresh eggs, chocolate and a bottle of wine were the perfect touch! It made our stay in Chicago great, and we're looking forward to a return trip--
The place is great. Just as described. Perfect for our stopover in Chicago. Delicious farm fresh eggs from right out back. How could you beat that?
My girlfriend and I stayed here over Xmas and we definitely enjoyed it! This place couldn't be more welcoming with a chalkboard of our names on it at the front door, a bottle of wine fresh eggs from the farm and a lovely card from Nicky.
The neighborhood is very quiet and apartment itself looks even better than the pics, it's charming, warm, cozy and clean. We love the quilt, it's just so comfy that we had good sleeps everyday.
Nicky & Eric are the sweetest hosts and very easy to reach. They prepared everything that we could possibly need. As we arrived late in the evening, they left the lights and heat on. Whenever we met a problem or a situation (even if its very awkward), they were very willing to offer their help. Thanks so much for making our stay so enjoyable!

Nicky and her husband were very welcoming, friendly, and available to accommodate whatever we needed.
Their home was very clean and nice. The pictures you see of their home on their profile is pretty accurate to what you'll actually be staying in.
The location is pretty close to 90% of the places that we had intended to visit and eat in Chicago (Lou Malnati's, Al's Beef, Big & Little's, Magnificent Mile, etc.), and our group of four decided to drive because it was so close and cheaper than taking transit; everything was a 15 minute drive, max.
The only minor issue that some people may have is that some parts of the neighbourhood has a "run-down" feel to it, and one of the guys in my group was a little scared (what a baby, haha).
I highly recommend this place and believe Nicky should be charging more for her wonderful place!
Staying here was an amazing experience. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed by leaving us a welcoming sign by the front door, welcome note and a bottle of wine on the table, and chocolates in our bed. They also gave us fresh laid farm eggs which were a tasty treat the next morning. The space was really nice, cozy, and beautifully decorated. It felt more like a trendy loft or chic downtown hotel (without the $30 parking fees). The animals were fun to visit with in the back too. We had the pleasure of meeting Nicky on our way out and she was really nice and helped us getting out. We would DEFINITELY stay here again and highly recommend it. Thanks!
The place was beautiful, very clean and Nicky made sure we had all the necessary amenities! Couldn't have asked for a nicer apartment. Not in the safest neighbourhood, so wouldn't recommend anyone go out walking alone at night.
I'm sorry you didn't feel safe in the neighborhood. I can understand that reaction if you are not used to an urban environment. Most guests have a different experience here. They feel very comfortable walking through the neighborhood and to the train at any hour. I hope you come again and I could show you around a bit. It's a pretty fun place when you get around and see all there is to offer.
Our quality of life depends on how well we deal with adversity! Feel positive. Live positive. I grew up in a small costal town in Maine. When I turned 19 I realized that I was a closet wanderer. So I hit the road and covered much of the U.S. and all of Europe. I taught skiing in the Rockies and rode my BMW R65-LS from coast to coast. When I was in Europe I was amazed at how willing people were to open their homes to a total stranger. I had one of my best experiences living with a family in Romania in the Carpathian Mountains. Amazing! I feel this is the best way possible to travel. It's part of why I love Air B&B. Hotel shmotel! Live the life of the area. That's an experience. Now my wandering days are over. I'm rooted in one of the coolest communities I know. Rich with art and spirit. I have two amazing girls that help me garden, can, collect eggs and milk. My husband is a world class chef and former Chicago S.W.A.T. officer and I tour with an ABBA tribute band but don't hold that against me. I hope you like it here half as much as we do!!
