About this listing
Find your little private oasis in Manhattan!
This place is very well worth walking 5 flights up for... Quiet one bedroom, in one of the up and coming neighborhoods in Downtown Manhattan. Located perfectly between the Lower East Side and Chinatown, you will fall asleep with a view of the colorfully lit Empire State building.
Trendy restaurants and coffee shops group around that area around Orchard Street, which is full of little galleries and boutiques. Late night deli with exquisite selection in the building. Wireless internet, and basic (website hidden). Very clean, never had a bug, laundromats all over.
This place is perfect for a couple. At the moment there is a dining/work table instead of the big couch, but I can restore the set up exactly like in the picture, if extra sleeping space is needed. There will always be beautiful light...
Whether you are here for work or for fun, you will enjoy this place, winter or summer, it's one of the most interesting and beautiful neighborhoods in NYC.
The F train stop East Broadway is 1 minute away, and the J train stop Essex is 4 minutes away. I recommend renting a bike...
Whether you want a vegan cupcake, or a Vietnamese sandwich, it's never more than 5 minutes away...
You will find this place to be very clean, so here are the rules:
If you use the towels and sheets I provide, please drop them off at the Laundromat on Orchard between Canal and Hester St. Please insist on "hot wash" and pay for it upfront. Leave the laundry ticket on the table for me.
General cleanliness is appreciated:
take down all garbage
and please don't leave any food in the fridge
Thank you so much!
We loved our stay in this charming apartment. You're just steps away from loads of cafees, restaurants and shops on LES. We really fell in love with the neighbourhood during our one month long stay. Several metro stations in walking distance. We cooked breakfast in the kitchen every morning and found everything we needed. We recommend bringing earplugs and a sleeping mask, because the city that never sleeps is right outside your window. Julia was really kind and texted us now and then to see if we needed anything. She also offered us a second cleaning of the apartment, cause the cleaning personnel hadn't done such a great job before our arrival. She was also really cool about our friend staying at the apartment for a short period of time. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a pleasent stay in Julias cosy appartment! She was a great host, friendly and helpful! She received us in the appartment, which was very clean and tidy.
We stayed for five weeks and already miss the beautiful view from the window. The location just could not be better: There are many bars, restaurants and boutiques situated nearby. The subway is only a two minute walk away. You can walk to the eastriver with the two bridges within ten mintues or ramble about Nolita and Chinatown.
There is plenty of space for two people und all their stuff in the appartment. The bed is very comfortable! In the kitchen you can find everything for cooking if you don't want to eat in a restaurant.
This was our second time staying at Julia's, and her place was just as fantastic and excellently located as it was back in January. Her apartment is the perfect place to stay for either one person or a couple.
Julia is super nice and very communicative. When I stupidly locked our keys in the apartment, she met us with a new set of keys within thirty minutes of me texting her. She simply could not have been a better host.
julia is a very very nice host! she answered our requests very quickly and is very helpful.
we stayed for many weeks in her appartement and really enjoyed our time there. it has everything you need. and we really liked the beautiful view - you see the empire state building from your window. it's worth to climb up 50 steps to the 5th floor :-)!

Julia's apt is perfect for the travelor who want's to be far from the herd of time square and midtown. She is a wonderul host, who's suggestions were on point, always a text away with an answer and is very flexible. Her apt is as advertised and is very BIG by NYC standards. It sits on the edge where Chinatown and The Lower East Side meet but at the same very close to SoHo, so the options of bars, restaurants, and shopping are eclectic to say the least. But the two big reasons for me were this: a great comfy bed and a good shower. As much as I want to keep her apt a secret for those of us who have already stayed here, you will not find a better place. My future accommodation needs will only be best served with Julia's perfectly hip apartment.
