The Space

Find your little private oasis in Manhattan!

This place is very well worth walking 5 flights up for... Quiet one bedroom, in one of the up and coming neighborhoods in Downtown Manhattan. Located perfectly between the Lower East Side and Chinatown, you will fall asleep with a view of the colorfully lit Empire State building.

Trendy restaurants and coffee shops group around that area around Orchard Street, which is full of little galleries and boutiques. Late night deli with exquisite selection in the building. Wireless internet, and basic (website hidden). Very clean, never had a bug, laundromats all over.

This place is perfect for a couple. At the moment there is a dining/work table instead of the big couch, but I can restore the set up exactly like in the picture, if extra sleeping space is needed. There will always be beautiful light...

Whether you are here for work or for fun, you will enjoy this place, winter or summer, it's one of the most interesting and beautiful neighborhoods in NYC.

The F train stop East Broadway is 1 minute away, and the J train stop Essex is 4 minutes away. I recommend renting a bike...

Whether you want a vegan cupcake, or a Vietnamese sandwich, it's never more than 5 minutes away...

  • Julia's apt is perfect for the travelor who want's to be far from the herd of time square and midtown. She is a wonderul host, who's suggestions were on point, always a text away with an answer and is very flexible. Her apt is as advertised and is very BIG by NYC standards. It sits on the edge where Chinatown and The Lower East Side meet but at the same very close to SoHo, so the options of bars, restaurants, and shopping are eclectic to say the least. But the two big reasons for me were this: a great comfy bed and a good shower. As much as I want to keep her apt a secret for those of us who have already stayed here, you will not find a better place. My future accommodation needs will only be best served with Julia's perfectly hip apartment.

  • Julia was super helpful, her apartment is lovely (the view from the bedroom truly is fantastic), and the location is excellent if you want to approach NY like a resident and not spend your time surrounded by other tourists.

I can't recommend her place highly enough!

  • I had a great stay at Julia's apartment. She was incredibly kind and accommodating - I had a tight schedule and she let me stop by to pick up the keys and drop my bags off earlier than anticipated. The apartment was clean and in a great location - close to some smaller bars and restaurants, as well as a bunch of different subway stops making it easy to get out and explore the city. This was my first experience with Airbnb and Julia made it a very positive one. I would highly recommend her place. Thank you again!

  • Julia's place was lovely, she was a warm and friendly host and i would definitely stay there again in the future. I recommend this place as an authentic alternative to Hotels in NYC. It has alot of charm and Julia will make you feel at home!

  • Lovey apartment! we spent our wedding nite there before flying to Hawaii! My wife and I longtime residents of that neighborhood relocated to montclair nj. We had our wedding ceremony on 2nd st, a block from my very nyc first apartment I moved to in 86! Our reception was at the rivington hotel. It was a very poetic way to bring full circle our life in NYC and our new life ahead. I can't say enough about how much I love Chinatown and LES. The apartment itself was very elegant with posh bedding and a magnificent view of the Empire State Building. Open up the shades at nite and que up all tomorrow's parties by the velvet underground,,,

  • Staying at Julias apartment was a fantastic experience! We, me and my husband stayed there for six nights.
Julia is a nice and flexibel houst. She is quick to answer emails and text.
The apartment is clean, nice bed and with a cool view! It is 5 stairs to walk up, but its worth it.
The area around the apartment is interesting and it differs from the rest of New York which we found exciting!
I highly recommend Julia and her apartment!

  • Julia is a really great person and the flat is small but very clean and the view is amazing. Everything was perfect and also to get the keys was quite easy. There are some nice bars around the flat and the sub is nearly around the corner. Great apartment and awesome town!

  • I rented Julias apartment for my dad when he was in town. It was a great place and a fantastic view, and I know he enjoyed staying in a neighborhood he wouldn't have visited otherwise. Can really recommend it!
