This bright, airy room with a newer Queen bed has its own exterior entrance. Home-baked goods for breakfast (read our reviews!). Very close to JBLM and PLU. We are centrally located in the Puget Sound area, with Seattle, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park just an hour away, and Pacific Ocean beaches 2 hours away. We have welcomed guests for one night or up to 3 months. Our organic family farm is waiting to welcome you to a home away from home!
We do not drink alcohol or use the now legal drug marijuana. It is our preference that you do not either. Yet we do appreciate the great joy of a cold beer after a long day of hiking at Mount Rainier, so alcohol in moderation is allowed.
Our house and guest-rooms are not "child-proofed" so if you are traveling with small children you will want to be mindful of them at all times they are in the house.
No smoking anywhere on the property. We ask for quiet between 10 pm and 8 am.
We do have an indoor cat. Therefore we can speak about your pets on a case by case basis: unfortunately we are not able to welcome all pets, can only welcome them on a short-term basis. No long-term (more than a few days) guests with pets can be accommodated. Of course, please plan to clean up after your pet, both inside and outside the home.

Val is a member of the math faculty at Tacoma Community College, with a specialization working with students of all ages and backgrounds who have a particular fear or dislike of math. In her spare time she enjoys various needle crafts, especially knitting, and working on the family's 2-acre farm. Brad's work away from our farm and hosting guests takes him to interesting places. He is an ordained minister and officiates at weddings and assists families with end of life care and funeral /memorial planning. He is a certified golf and track and field coach for Special Olympics. He works on special occasions caring for families as a personal chef and food coach. He also works regularly as a cook in a retirement/assisted care facility. He has a private practice as a spiritual director guiding those who seek to deepen their prayer life. Val & Brad play Scrabble almost daily, and look forward to visits from our college-age sons when we can play other family games. We love to bake. With 90 fruit trees on our land there is always something to turn into a pie!
