Commercial Drive is an amazing, culturally diverse neighbourhood, with dozens of restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques. It's home to many outdoor festivals like Car Feet Day and Italian Days. Here's how Tourism Vancouver describes the neighbourhood:
A confluence of cultures makes Commercial Drive, or "The Drive," the place to go for an urban experience of the young and hip Vancouver crowd. Formerly known as "Little Italy," this diverse neighbourhood is home to students, writers, artists and other bohemians. Lots of different restaurants offering every kind of cuisine imaginable make this a great place to grab an authentic ethnic meal.

Other Things to Note
If you are staying for more than a few days and would like occasional/regular cleaning service during your stay, let us know in advance and we can arrange it for you.
While we do not have a dedicated parking spot, there is almost always parking out on the street right in front of our house.
More specifics on laundry: On the ground level of our house, adjoining the garden suite, but not a part of it, there is an laundry room that we also go downstairs to use. if there are regular times you want to do laundry, we can make access available to you during those times. Or if you need access during an unscheduled time, just email or call and we can give you access.
If you need to arrange for a taxi during your stay, we recommend Black Top at (phone number hidden). They are usually at our house in under 10 minutes (unless its raining and rush hour).
-Pets are typically allowed, and are considered on a case by case basis.
-We won't have late night parties, and don't expect you to either.
As our first air bnb experience it was fantastic! The suite is clean, has quality furniture, is comfortable, and very accessible. WiFi connection is strong for research and streaming. The bed is very comfortable, The full kitchen was great for cooking our food from the Granville market. The bathroom is clean and updated. We also liked how close the suite is to Commercial Drive for restaurants and transportation. We enjoyed a place that felt like home. Sandy and Jen are great hosts that provide good information about the city.
The Fleischer family, including Annie (dog) and Oggie (cat) made us feel very welcome in their nicely decorated and well appointed basement apartment.
The double bed requires special mention - it is very, very comfortable!
2012 William Street is situated in a charming character-filled suburb in the East Van area. The garden is a leafy green oasis, complete with non-threatening wild life (black squirrels and birds).
Sandy and Jen are excellent hosts. They're warm and friendly and it was a pleasure sharing their home with them. Thank you for a great stay in Vancouver.
The Garden Suite is wonderful. I was able to take my time in the morning as I like to do while my husband was able to go and do all sorts of things until I was ready to go because there is so much to do close by. The suite has everything you need in it - we picked up a few things at the near by bakeries and green grocers and ate most of our breakfasts and suppers in the suite - saves a lot of money. The suite is really comfortable and clean. The kitchen has everything that a regular person has in their own kitchen - full-size stove, microwave, coffee maker, etc... the bed is really comfortable and they do the linens like an expensive hotel does theirs - the washable bed cover and the top sheet that is nice and long and folds over the top of the bed cover. As I said the suite is very clean. The garden is pretty and quiet and a lovely place to sit and have coffee or a drink. Sandy and Jen are wonderful hosts and went out of there way for us which we are most grateful for. Any time we travel to Vancouver in the future we plan on trying to book the Garden Suite again, it is the best place to stay in the city!
The owners were very communicative and gave excellent directions. The location was perfect for us.
The space was similar to the pictures, although showing some signs of wear (stains on carpets).
Unfortunately, the cleaning lady didn't do a fantastic job and I spent some time cleaning before I felt comfortable using the space. The bed was suitable and it was fine for our one night stay.
One short night in this darling garden suite was perfect albeit short. Communication was spot on...the bed pure heaven (and I am particular) quick walk to good coffee, quiet neighborhood, clean, homey, light and bright. Private entrance is great, and location is just a short drive to downtown Vancouver. Would book again. Thank you Sandy and Jen!
Upon arrival, we met Sandy and Jen - both were very welcoming and offered assistance if needed. Kitchen was fully equipped and the place was nice and quaint.
We chose their suite because of the outdoor patio. We held a bridal shower and was able to use the outdoor space. It was great! Lots of natural light. Our guests loved the place, and had lots of fun. We would recommend this to location to fellow travelers. Thank you Sandy/Jen for allowing to host our party!
Jen was super friendly and easy to get hold off. The apartment was clean and well kitted out with and the bed was really comfy. Commercial Drive is a really cool neighbourhood, loads of restaurants, bars and cafes, and it's only a 10 min walk to the Skytrain, which makes getting to downtown a breeze.

About the Host, Sandy And Jen
We are both huge fans of travelling, and big advocates of Vancouver. We are proud to say there is no where else that we'd rather live, and are always happy to talk with guests and visitors about all the awesome things to do in our city and surrounding areas.
We are also huge fans of our neighbourhood, and think its a great place to make home base when exploring BC.
