Staying with Lia&Garry was our wonderful and perfect experience!! Lia&Garry were both so warm and welcoming hosts that let us always felt like at home!
Their house is lovely and cozy, decorated with Lia's great photos and her grandfather's paintings , I love them! And the garden, filled with plenty of succulent plants, orange trees and tangerine trees were very beautiful. During our stay, the tangerines were ripe and they were really juicy and sweet!
Both Lia&Garry are very kind and helpful, and we were lucky enough that they gave us a great metro touring! Followed their steps,we experienced a fabulous and unique day and enjoyed a local view of Los Angeles . Lia&Garry also shared many many interesting things and places to us,and explained them carefully, like Mexican cultures, mural paintings, arts ,histories and so on.they are very good teachers .
Lia&Garry also gave us many useful suggestions about where to go,and they always helped us to check schedules of famous places, and they told us some great places for dinner ,too! For their help, we began to experience the charming life in LA and Pasadena, one week stay was too short! I love the last bookstore, the Huntington, the mission, the metro trip, the Gamble house ,the Counters.....and so on!
Thank you Lia&Garry, we'll miss you! And I wish we could come back and see you again!
It was our wonderful experience to host Su + Hoa. They both have such cheerful, adventurous spirits. We were delighted that they accompanied us on our day of planning our new Metro Gold Line tour and that we could share with them some "insider spots" in LA. They really helped us polish the itinerary -- it was great to see LA through their eyes. We are also glad that they then took the Metro on their own for a local's view of LA. We really enjoyed Su's artistic eye and appreciate the architectural insights she shared -- we wish we could see the projects she has worked on in China. We're glad we could recommend unique Pasadena/LA architecture for them to see. Our only regret is that our time together was only one week! They are wonderful guests and bring a ray of sunshine with them.
A great experience! Lia went far beyond expectations when she greeted us with dinner (and wine!) when we arrived after a long day's drive. She really made us feel at home and gave us some great suggestions on things to do (the Gamble house). The room itself was spacious with a great shower in the private bath. Our only regret is that we didn't have longer to stay. We never got a chance to meet Garry or even use the hot tub. Our thanks to both for their hospitality
Chris and Shep
Chris + Shep were delightful guests. It seemed like we were old friends the moment they walked in the door (food and wine helped!).
They have a wonderful bookstore in the Gold Country called BookFever (just add dot and then com to see their site) and it was great seeing some rare books that they brought with them to the booksellers conference they were attending.
Unfortunately our hours or coming and going caused us to pass like ships in the night after our first dinner together. So we barely saw each other during the rest of their stay. We hope they come back to another booksellers event!
We stayed Lia & Garry's home more 7 days that there every thing like home. We like each other we enjoy stayed time.
Thank you Lia and Garry, you gave us a home when we stayed LA.
We will miss you guys.
We were delighted to have Dean + Yun extend their stay with us. They are very considerate guests. They were eager to share their culture with us, explain many Chinese traditions and share Chinese food with us. We enjoyed practicing English with Dean, explaining some of the culture of USA, and learning about his business in China. We will miss them too and hope to stay in contact. Thank you Dean + Yun for being part of our "family" for a short time. This was a great AirBnB cultural exchange.
We are enjoy to stay with Lia and Garry, their home is outstanding clean and beautiful. the house located in a great area, less 1min walking you can cover such as Starbucks, Vons(a fresh and good price supermarket), a Pastry baker store and I think their Croissants should best of U.S. and etc, some other food market and restaurants.
Lia is very kindly and so nice, she bought the Croissants for my wife twice and give us a lot of advise about Pasadena, help me to check the traffic and recommend the route for dodging the LA heavy traffic. And she is kindly to invites us to visit The Pasadena with her free tour. We never offered from other hosts, I think that is very valuable.
If you would like to know more, I'm pleased to tell you: Antique furniture in our room. very clean and enough towels, big garden beside the house, free tangerines and natural planted in the garden. free Hershey's snacks. and so quiet around the house, that is really brilliant good place to stay in Pasadena and east LA.
I strongly all guests choose Lia and Garry's home, that certainly is smartest choice.
It has been a pleasure having Dean + Yun as our guests. They are very considerate guests -- also very tidy and helpful.
We are glad that they have enjoyed some of the delicious things to eat in our neighborhood -- and also that our tangerines were ripe while they were visiting. We love sharing fresh fruit from our garden as part of the SoCal experience!
We have truly enjoyed sharing cultures with Dean + Yun and only wish we could visit them in China someday.
